Chapter 45: A Public Arrest

Ethan stepped out of his car, fuming with rage. He had gotten it last year for over three million dollars, only for some ’idiot’ not to move out of his way.

"Hey! Get out and see what you did to my car!" Ethan yelled, banging his fists against the tinted glass of the car he had crashed into.

Some of the enraged fans turned their attention to the scene and started to livestream it, taking the attention away from the scene happening inside.

Ethan was unaware he was being filmed and kept smashing his fists against the glass, "Are you deaf?! How dare you ignore me?!" He grew irritated with this person who wouldn’t even lower their glass to talk to him.

Did they not know who he was?

How dare they ignore him?

"What an idiot!" Damien cursed from his car, "That Ethan has a screw loose!" He shook his head.

"Sir, things are getting too rowdy, I suggest we leave before we’re dragged into this scandal." His manager suggested, seeing all the phones videoing made her anxious. Damien was at the peak of his career, she did not want a petty cat fight to place a dent in that.

Damien agreed, "It seems like this audition is a joke-" Just as he said that, he noticed another car pull over, one he had seen before.

As Nia hurriedly drove away he contemplated what she was doing here. ’Why the hell is that insufferable actress here? That Cassie Crane.’ he wondered, as they drove away from the even larger crowd.

When Cassie arrived, she was taken aback by the number of people outside live streaming Ethan punching a stranger’s car.

"What is going on?" She pulled down on her hat, covering her face, although her windows were tinted she was scared for her image.

"That fool, what does he think he’s doing?!" She panicked, as Ethan lost himself, screaming slurs in frustration of getting ignored.

Though that didn’t last for so long. Barely two minutes into her arriving did two men step out of the car. They circled around and opened the door for the presumed owner to step out.

"Hey! Hey! Who is that?!"

"He looks so handsome and pale, like an actor!"

"Is he maybe auditioning here?"

The fans asked each other, some snuck pictures of the handsome stranger dressed in black gloves, a black suit and a long black ankle length coat.

Cassie gasped at the handsome man, she had seen a lot of models and actors but never once came across this man. She immediately rolled down her windows and took a picture, then sent it to her manager to find out who he was, and why he was at the audition ground.

"You finally came out!" Ethan spat out, short of breath, his fists swollen from his continued assaults on the car.

But what tipped his anger off was when Thane walked past him, ignoring his presence.

"How dare you ignore me?! Bastard!" He took a swing at him, trying to attack him from behind.

Unfortunately, his men forcefully pinned him to the pavement, holding him down before his attack could connect.

"Let me go! How dare you attack me?!" He raised his voice, struggling against them but their force was too strong and he ended up hurting himself.

Cassie gasped, "Driver, get me out of here-" her words were cut short by the blaring sound of police sirens.

"The police?!" She looked behind her at the two police cars that had pulled over. She sunk into her chair when the officers ran past her car to the scene.

-"The police?"

-"Who could’ve called them?"

-"Are they here to take that woman away?!"

On hearing the police were around, Ethan raised his voice, "Officers! Help me! These men just attacked me out of nowhere!" He shouted, drawing their attention to him.

Two officers circled over to him, whilst the others broke up the crowd and tried to get the people to leave.

The officers helped him out of their pin, and separated them. Thane’s men returned to his side, standing next to Gilbert and the rest of the security team.

"There he is! Officers, he wrecked my car and had his men attack me! Take him away!" Ethan reported, showing his bruised wrists to the officers.

Little did he expect the officers to slap handcuffs on those very wrists of his and announce, "Mr Halton, you are under arrest for the charges of Attempted Assault, Vandalism, Reckless driving, disorderly conduct and obstruction of..." Ethan cut the officer off.

"Are you insane?! He’s the criminal here! Not me!" He yelled at the top of his lungs, struggling against the cuffs on his wrists.

"You! Bastard! Turn around and face me! How dare you!" He charged at Thane, but the officers held him back by the shoulders.

"Mr Halton, anymore and you will be resisting arrest!" The officer warned over Ethan’s verbal assaults.

"You bastard! Stop walking away! How dare you?! Do you know who I am?!" Ethan raised his voice as Thane continued marching forward not sparing him a single second of his time.

His complete ignorance to Ethan’s presence made the man mad with rage, and as the police forced him into one of their cars, he got so angry he bit his lip till it bled.

Cassie watching the whole thing happen slipped into the building while everyone was focused on the arrest going on.

’I’ve already made it this far, I have to see that bitch Brooke, who dared to try and take away what’s mine.’ she told herself as she walked through the hallway, drawing everyone’s gaze her way.

In an instant, everyone around recognized her, and focused their attention on her, just like she had wanted. With their stares fixed on her, she lunged herself at the scene happening, with Brooke and the fanatics.

"Brooke!" She cried out, rushing to where Brooke had managed to stand.

As soon as Brooke turned around, Cassie flung herself at her and started to cry. "Please! Stop doing this! Everything is a mess now! Leave now and I swear I’ll help you out of everything!" She cried in a loud voice, making sure everyone heard her.

To Brooke she whispered, "Foolish bitch, take this!"

Before Brooke could blink twice, Cassie flung herself backwards and fell to the ground in front of everyone!
