Chapter 452: 19. Entrance of the Wutong Tree (Two in One, Monthly Ticket Bonus Chapter)_3
"Miss, let’s take shelter over there for a while."
Heidlin came up behind Valentina and took hold of her wheelchair, wanting to move her away, but she just kept her eye on Fisher’s carving movements, reaching out gently with her hand to indicate "No need."
Balzac, who had been ready to leap away, saw that the rest of his companions weren’t leaving, and felt embarrassed to go by himself. So, he stiffened his resolve and sat back down where he had been, forcing himself to stay utterly still.
But now, his buttocks’ muscles were tensed, ready to leap away and flee at the first sign of anything amiss.
Fisher took a deep breath, then rapidly entered the zone and began his engraving.
In fact, Helldor’s concerns were valid. The skills to forge relics had been lost, and no one knew the specific attributes or current status of each relic.
Some relics were fragile, a slight damage to their surface could cause them to lose their functionality; others were tough, able to withstand any beating and dropping, like Emhardt’s tattered book.
But even for the most fragile relics, it didn’t matter, as long as the Magic Materials laid down the foundation for the Emblem properly, and the cutting was light and accurate. To the relics, it would feel like a feather passing over their body, causing no sensation whatsoever.
Fisher’s slender fingers were extremely agile. His entire arm and wrist barely moved, maintaining a steady position, his fingers deftly pushing the bulky North Realm Engraving Knife, leaving an almost imperceptible cut on the surface of the relic. Over this cut, the powder composed of Magic Materials covered the path, forming the basic pattern of the Emblem.
As an Emblem called "Isolation" was engraved out, the steamy breath from Helldor’s mouth also slowed down, fearful that any noise he made might cause Fisher’s hand to tremble, turning them all into chickens with feathers.
Moreover, all the magic he learned with "Isolation" as its Ring Head were basically about silencing and blocking the line of sight. He really didn’t know how such magic could be used to drive away a curse.
What he didn’t realize was that it was a certain gaze from the Spirit Realm that had caused the scroll to carry a very serious curse—a gaze they couldn’t see.
"Hum!"
As the magic was gradually outlined, a sound like an explosion suddenly rang in Fisher’s ears, but even so, his arm engraving the magic did not move in the slightest, only his eye twitched for a moment.
He instinctively looked up at the golden box, only to see that around it, illusory eyes began to emerge again, like the stars of the Milky Way.
Those eyes seemed to be staring right in front of Fisher, with an unknown meaning, fixating on the human before them.
The Magic Circuit on Fisher’s arm became increasingly bright, which everyone thought was a normal reaction while he engraved the magic. In reality, it was the gaze he felt that caused this.
But without fear, he looked towards the countless eyeballs in the void, even quickening the pace of his engraving movement.
It was then that Fisher suddenly realized that these eyeballs were different from the Spirit Realm gaze he had seen before.
The eyes he saw on the Demon’s ferry were blinking and spread apart, more like independent entities in another space. But the eyeballs beside this golden box were connected, much like a face where countless eyes had grown where just two should be.
Could it be that all these eyes belonged to one entity?
"Hum..."
Staring at the crazed Spirit Realm eyeballs before him, Fisher twisted his wrist again and completed the inscription of the magic.
As the final stroke was engraved, the Magic Emblem over the golden box began to glow distinctly, and then the crazed gaze, as if veiled, vanished in an instant.
A bead of sweat silently slid down Fisher’s cheek. He exhaled long and slowly put down the engraving knife in his hand, scanning the surroundings, only to find that everyone was quietly watching him, holding their breath as if afraid to disturb him.
Valentina, sitting in her wheelchair, was the same, except her fair fingers were subconsciously rubbing the only Ring from the Turand Family on her hand that was not engraved with magic.
"It’s done."
"This... it’s already done?"
"Mm-hmm."
In face of Balzac’s question, Fisher reached out and abruptly opened the golden box, startling Balzac into jumping back several steps. But when Fisher safely took out the Ice Scroll that was emitting a chilly air, Balzac leaned in again, incredulously inspecting the Ice Scroll, which looked like a work of art.
"It really worked!"
"Sss... truly exquisite engraving skill, takes me right back to when I was young, in Magic Class."
Helldor didn’t immediately look at the scroll but rather at the Magic Emblem left on the golden box. He saw that the emblem was intricately carved; he had never seen the overall Magic Emblem before and knew nothing about the implications of each part. Clearly, it was a newly designed magic.
It was then that he suddenly caught sight of the barely used Magic Materials powder at Fisher’s feet, which Fisher was already reaching down to collect.
