Chapter 361: 147.Demon God Pillar_2

Could there be stars during the day?

Just as this thought had emerged, above the blood-soaked cavern, the star grew closer and the noise louder. An eerie sound of air exploding and burning tore through the sky above, hurtling straight toward the cavern on Klein Mountain that Anna had tunneled out of.

"Buzz buzz!"

A scorching heat, like that of magma, burst forth with a thunderous roar. Mid-air, a powerful figure drew the strange curved blade that Fisher had never seen unsheathed.

"Boom!"

A massive wave of explosive sound erupted in the sky. Fisher grimaced in pain; his body was in agony, and his ears rang from the shockwaves. Fortunately, the terrifying attack wasn’t aimed at him.

The next moment, a familiar, burning figure gently landed next to Fisher, and in the distance, the towering, headless statue of the Mother Goddess instantly shattered and fell to the ground.

The entire treasury was rife with the smell of blood. Countless branches were sliced and diced by the curved blade, and the surrounding temperature suddenly rose sharply.

Fisher opened his eyes in a daze and looked up, only to catch a glimpse of a magnificent fire pillar as tall as a mountain. The fire pillar stood on the ground of Hell, beneath it knelt countless humans and demi-humans clad in warrior’s attire.

"Great Demon God, bestow upon us the noble character of a warrior to protect our homes. For this, I am willing to offer everything I have."

Devout, trembling with fear, the figure knelt on the ground, offering everything to the fire pillar before them.

But Fisher didn’t hear how the fire pillar replied because that terrifying vision lasted for just a second.

After that second, a red-haired, lazy demon appeared before Fisher instead of the fire pillar. She yawned, and upon seeing Fisher lying in a pathetic heap on the ground, a detectable smile finally appeared on her face,

"It’s been a while, meow. At a glance, I can tell you haven’t been practicing what I taught you too well, getting beaten up like this."

Her expression was languid, her gestures effortless, and behind her, a raised arrow-like tail bore a sun-hot fireball. It was Elliog, the demon Fisher had encountered before.

Perhaps it was that casual night that had changed something between them, replacing their simple relationship with something indescribably subtle.

Now, seeing her again, Fisher didn’t seem surprised at all. He silently smiled and self-deprecatingly said,

"Indeed, after all, lacking a teacher, progress isn’t fast..."

"Now you know how great a teacher I am, meow. Tens of thousands of Gold Coins and you got my security services as a bonus, Fisher. You’ve made a killing."

"I’ll compensate you a bit more, though I’m out of money now."

It seemed that Elliog was hunting Erwin, who stood before her. Before, Fisher had thought it was Blake who had the Soul Completion Manual, and he wondered why Elliog had to leave Saint Nali to pursue despite Blake not having left.

Elliog smiled faintly but didn’t reply. She simply stood up, holding the curved blade with two small silver rings hanging oddly at the back side of the blade. Every swing of the blade made the little bells ring clearly, and their chiming caused violent explosions. That’s why her blade slicing through the air earlier had caused such a terrifying blast.

But, getting back to the point, Elliog’s combat prowess was indeed fearsome. Her arrival from the sky had almost shattered the entire treasury, to say nothing of Erwin’s flesh and branches.

"Ah, what a miscalculation, to be caught by ’Demon God Pillar’ Elliog, a high-level demon of the Eighteenth Rank... And here I thought Agares had already called you back."

Fisher was too injured to rise and see for himself Erwin’s current condition; he could only hear his voice.

In the distance, Erwin’s body was severed in two, and at the cleanly cut wound, one could see traces of high-temperature burns. What was terrifying, though, was that even cut to pieces like this, Erwin was still alive. He could still manipulate that body to speak, still allow both halves to come together for healing.

"It’ll be after dealing with you, you damned sinner..."

Elliog’s lazy demeanor turned ice-cold upon seeing Erwin. The fighting spirit in her eyes rose, and she gripped her blade tightly, aiming it at Erwin before her.

Erwin gave a wry smile as he was locked in the dreadful intent to kill, his body split in two as he raised both hands in a rather comical gesture of surrender to Elliog,

"Ah, I really didn’t expect Mr. Fisher to have a connection with the esteemed Elliog, and to even bring the ’Death Rune’ from Agares. Do you demons really want me dead that much?"

But Elliog was no longer willing to waste words with the person before her. She fiercely raised the blade in her hand, and the moment the blade was swung, a scorching stream of magma clasped onto Erwin, who was still speaking, like a giant hand seizing him. Erwin’s skin began to burn incessantly, yet he stretched out his right hand towards Elliog as if he couldn’t feel any pain,

"Ah, it hurts so much..."

Elliog held a knife in her left hand while her right hand grabbed the weapon on her back, similar to a short dagger. The moment her hand touched the dagger, eerie runes emerged from it, dark and ominous like the Abyss.

"Buzz... buzz..."

But before she could draw her blade, Erwin’s fingers twitched slightly, and he sent a distorted tentacle of flesh from the ground towards Fisher, who was immobilized on the ground. Fisher’s complexion changed slightly, but he shouted at Elliog,

"Kill him!"

Elliog’s movements in mid-air paused for a moment, hesitating for a second, but then she suddenly let go of the short dagger and turned around, stretching out her hand in one chopping motion, shattering the fleshly tentacle attacking Fisher.

"Heh heh, I appreciate Elliog’s mercy. For today, I shall take my leave. I’ll come visit Mr. Fisher again later..."

The distorted bird’s beak face of Erwin before them suddenly displayed a human-like expression of "just as I thought," and he looked at Fisher lying on the ground with great interest.

The next moment, his body slowly crumbled and broke apart, instantly dispersing into countless tiny insects. Elliog sighed at the sight of those little bugs and then forcefully exhaled a breath, which turned into a burst of searing flames in mid-air, instantly consuming the insects to nothingness.

"Crackle..."

The bugs struggled and turned to ash in mid-air, and at this point, Fisher’s restless Soul Completion Manual suddenly calmed down.

He looked with difficulty at Elliog as she approached,

"Is he dead?"

"No, this method won’t kill him..."

Elliog crouched down beside Fisher, her gaze however, caught sight of Whale Girl Moli lying nearby. In a place hidden from Fisher’s view, she slightly raised an eyebrow.

The next moment, the large ball of fire on the tail of the demon behind her once again shrunk and grew dim, and she yawned simultaneously, to the astonishment of Fisher. Elliog quickly crouched down and grabbed Fisher by the neck, pulling him into a kiss.

"Mmm!"

Even Fisher didn’t expect her to suddenly do this, but he was in such pain that he couldn’t resist the terrifying Demon Girl...

Since he couldn’t resist, he might as well enjoy it.

Fisher’s eyes glazed over, his body motionless.

As Fisher stopped resisting altogether, Elliog’s eyes flickered with a hint of pleasure and satisfaction. The kiss lasted a long time before she reluctantly let go of Fisher in her hands.

Fisher exhaled and tasted the ambiguous flavor of blood and saltpeter on his lips. He then asked,

"...What are you doing?"

"Healing you... oh, and satisfying a craving."

"...."
