Chapter 333: 136.Book Knight_3

Moli gasped for air as she put down the book in her hand, turned her head to look around, and realized there were no other people besides the book. Fisher had previously gone up to the third floor to search for clues, leaving her alone on the second floor...

So, was the voice just now coming from this book?

And had she been too scared to notice that the book seemed to be floating in mid-air?!

Moli pursed her lips, too frightened to approach, and decided to toss the book in her hand towards the object to see if it was alive. But just as she threw it, Fisher, who was coming downstairs, caught the book in midair.

He looked at Moli, puzzled as to why she would throw a book, having just heard her screams and coming down.

"What’s wrong?"

"Fisher! There’s a ghost in that book!"

"A ghost?"

Fisher turned to look at the thick, ancient book on the ground. It was now that, being closer, Fisher suddenly noticed that there was no title or text on the cover of the book on the ground. He was sure he had searched the second floor just moments before, and he was fairly confident in his memory—he shouldn’t have missed this book.

Fisher crouched down, about to reach out to pick up the book, when suddenly an eye opened on the book cover, staring straight at Fisher. Fisher wasn’t scared though, because his Fluid Sword had already extended out, its mercury-like blade ready to swing towards the book.

"Stop! Sir! Don’t attack! I’m a good person... ah no, a good book!"

The eye on the book bent slightly, revealing a humanized expression of fear and panic. Suddenly, the book began to float in the air, and not only an eye but also a little mouth with big white teeth appeared on the book cover. The mouth opened and repeatedly called out to Fisher.

The strange book flitting about in mid-air made Fisher subconsciously feel as though it was one of Blake’s biological experiment creations, because it indeed looked too ugly and too abstract.

"Listen, listen, I mean no harm... In fact, even if I did have any harmful intentions, I couldn’t pose any threat to you, I’m just a book! A harmless, adorable book!"

Even though the book had a mouth on its "face," when it spoke, it wasn’t just the mouth that moved; the pages behind it also continuously opened and closed, like an accordion that needs to be pushed and pulled. Through the open pages, Fisher could see that they were filled with dense writing, but had no idea what was recorded within.

"Shut up."

The sound of its male voice was truly unpleasant, like noise pollution, and Fisher wore a speechless expression as he raised his Fluid Sword toward it, scaring it into immediately closing its mouth, its eyes still revealing a pleading smile.

"Okay, okay, I’ll listen to you, I’ll keep quiet..."

Moli also ran over curiously to see the ancient book floating in mid-air with only one eye, and she too was startled enough to open her mouth. She didn’t know what this thing was, looking so strange.

"I ask, you answer, tell me, what are you, and how did you end up here?"

"What? Thing?!"

The book’s eye suddenly widened, and then the whole book unfolded quite a bit, as if it was taking a deep breath to relax, and after a pause of one second, it shouted at Fisher in disbelief,

"You dare call me a thing! This is outrageous... Listen well, I am the noble ’Book Knight,’ Sir Emhardt!"
