Chapter 321: 130. Where Secrets Reside_2

Moli’s sudden panic was met with Fisher simply shaking his head. He couldn’t provide a concrete answer, but judging by Blake’s behavior, her aunt’s situation was definitely not good.

"I’m not sure, but I think the reason Blake refused marriage back then was because he already had a wife, and before this, I had never heard whether Blake had been married or had any children. If Blake’s wife is your aunt, then it all makes sense..."

However, at the same time, Fisher felt incredibly surprised because if Blake had truly married Mu Xi and held a wedding ceremony, it would have been a very difficult journey for both of them.

Even now, humans hold much prejudice against demi-humans, let alone decades ago.

If Blake did indeed marry Mu Xi, could this also explain why, for so many years, he has been so low-profile in Saint Nali?

He never openly attended any public events, rarely showed his face, and completely neglected the Nali Exploration Company he owned the largest share in...

Could it be that he did all this just because he had a demi-human wife he couldn’t show to the public?

"Fisher... I’m a little scared..."

"It’s all right, we will find your aunt."

Fisher gently reached out to comfort her, and Moli pursed her lips, placing her hand on the back of Fisher’s hand, exactly where he had grabbed Elizabeth earlier.

In contrast to Elizabeth’s somewhat icy temperature, Moli’s small hand was warm and toasty, like a little furnace.

"Mmm!"

Their journey continued into the night, and soon, they were very close to Klein Mountain by Nali Lake.

"Clip-clop, clip-clop..."

As they continued onward, a rapid succession of hoofbeats suddenly sounded from behind. Fisher thought they were being pursued, so he raised his Fluid Sword to be on guard.

But what eventually caught up to them was a bright, deep red private carriage. Sitting at the front was a stunning lady dressed in traditional Nali attire—it was Anna, the madam of Pink Hall.

The paper airplane he had thrown earlier was meant for Anna, informing her of the location of the vault. He did not expect her to arrive so quickly.

Fisher pulled on the reins to stop his carriage, and Anna also halted hers next to them. He glanced at the quiet Saint Nali Suburb behind them and then asked Moli and himself to disembark.

"It’s so good to see you’re okay. I heard the whole Healing Room collapsed. I was worried you didn’t get any clues about the vault’s location... Is the entrance at Nali Lake?"

Fisher glanced at her carriage. Its shape was different from the others, almost like a small room in the back, with some daily necessities inside, but mostly toys and decorations designed for pleasure... That room was definitely filled with a rosy atmosphere.

He recognized this type of carriage. Some brothels used to provide custom services with them, where a client would book someone from the brothel and the coachman would take the booked lady to a designated location for the night.

This kind of booking service was very private. Pink Hall offered it too, and it was quite unexpected to see Anna driving such a carriage.

"There’s no time to explain, take us to Klein Mountain. The location of Blake’s Vault is at Nali Lake, that carriage is Elizabeth’s, it’s too conspicuous."

"Princess Elizabeth?"

Anna opened her mouth in surprise, and then quickly beckoned Fisher to board.

Fisher helped Moli into the back of the carriage, and he himself sat in the front beside the driver’s seat.

Curious, Moli entered the back carriage and saw whips and collars hanging on the wall, as well as unlit candles on the bed’s trunk. She looked around, silly and wide-eyed, until Fisher, noticing her movements, frowned and stopped her.

"Don’t look around, just sit still."

"...Okay."

Moli sneakily spotted a small toy in the corner, her face turning slightly red, she sat down quietly. Yet, after a second or two, she couldn’t help but steal another glance at the wardrobe filled with certain types of clothes.

My, this is just... so shameless...

"I saw the Healing Room had collapsed, and I feared Blake would come after me, so I just took one of the shop’s carriages and fled... Did you find any evidence inside? There definitely was plenty of evidence in the Healing Room, isn’t that enough for the elder princess to act?"

Fisher shook his head, explaining,

"I was attacked by Blake in the secret room, and the evidence was almost entirely destroyed by him. I hope there’s evidence in his vault, I’m now a criminal in Saint Nali, and if I don’t find the evidence, I’ll have to flee."

He cracked a joke, but Anna looked at him covertly, eyeing his ragged clothes, and whispered an apology, probably for feeling too grateful for his help.

"We have a common goal, there’s no need for thanks or apologies."

"... There must be evidence in Blake’s vault. He never visits the vault during the day; most things are handled by Kachina. But if the entrance is at Nali Lake, the place is full of Royal soldiers, how could Kachina possibly come and go often to fetch experimental equipment?"
