Chapter 281: 117. Swimsuit
At the foothills of Klein Mountain, nestled among the lush green trees, a meandering stream of water flows unceasingly south toward the ocean.
The Klein River, overall, maintains a steady flow. Its channel appears very straight on the map and devoid of any major obstacles. Thus, it’s considered the fastest among the nine rivers of Saint Nali.
Even such a river, near Klein Mountain... that is, in its upper reaches, still has several small bays dotting it.
Once a river has bays, the flow slows down somewhat, making it an ideal spot for Moli’s combat training.
Since they finalized the plan to conduct combat training in the water yesterday, Fisher had been contemplating where to train. The best place would undoubtedly be Nali Lake nearby. However, it is Royal territory, guarded by soldiers everywhere, making the cost too high to consider.
Initially, Fisher did not consider the Klein River because its current is fast, and the channel is both narrow and shallow. However, Xiayat suggested that many places upstream were suitable, prompting Fisher to change her mind.
This bay was discovered by Xiayat, who is more experienced in the wilderness, when she was resting near her campsite. It now came in handy perfectly.
Originally, she had a camp in the mountains as well, only it was much inferior to Fisher’s setup. As Xiayat herself explained, the camp was a crude product made of a few branches and leaves, at most suitable for resting in the afternoon or evening.
The plan was finalized at night, and almost at dawn when they woke up, Xiayat had made a soup with leftover pork mixed with wild vegetables from yesterday. The leftovers which they couldn’t finish would all have to be discarded; otherwise, they’d go bad by the time they took them back.
After breakfast, Xiayat led Fisher and Moli down to the bay for training. Along the way, Xiayat’s swift pace resounded her clear hoofbeats throughout the mountain.
"The water here is very deep; it should be perfect for you to perform," Xiayat said.
Upon arriving at the river, Fisher roughly estimated the depth of the bay. The water wasn’t very turbid and was about six or seven meters deep, which should be barely adequate for Moli to use.
This time, Xiayat was responsible for being the teacher. It seemed like it had been a long while since she last assumed the role of someone’s teacher, making her seem quite excited at the moment.
Even before Moli made any movement, she started doing warm-up exercises on her own. While doing so, her ponytail suddenly flicked, and only then did she belatedly realize she couldn’t enter the water and there was no need for such exuberance...
After all, she was just a Centaur!
Moli watched the river water in front of her and suddenly thought of something, cautiously reaching out to tug on Fisher’s sleeve. When Fisher turned to look at her, Moli whispered rather blushingly,
"Fisher... what should I wear for training?"
Fisher glanced at the dress Moli was wearing and recalled that there was only her cloak in the carriage, and no spare clothes for Moli to use for the water training.
Thinking about it now, the biggest problem Moli faced each time as an Ocean Subhuman wasn’t how to conceal her identity, but the embarrassment of not having clothes to wear.
Moreover, her body was more "bountiful" than that of an average woman, and size was also a major issue; it wasn’t possible for all her garments to be custom-made by Fisher, as it would be far too time-consuming.
After a few seconds of thought, Fisher looked around the quiet surroundings and lifted her Handcane, suggesting to Moli,
"How about this, you train here with Xiayat while I watch from a distance to prevent anyone from coming. That way, we won’t have to worry about clothes."
Technically, this area was mostly deserted, and Fisher could easily set up a large Protective Magic barrier. It so happened that the magic in her Handcane was almost used up, except for the Protection Magic, which hadn’t been used yet.
Since the carriage was taken away, it seemed she didn’t have anything valuable left, utterly reducing the need to use this magic.
Hearing that Fisher would leave, Moli immediately pursed her lips and shook her head, saying,
"No! Still... it has to be Fisher here... I don’t know why, but if it’s... Fisher here, I might become braver somehow..."
She lifted her eyes tentatively to look at Fisher, rushing through her lengthy words as if afraid Fisher might leave.
She appeared so endearingly shy, like a little animal hiding away, irresistibly cute, and like a burning matchstick ready to ignite the kindling in Fisher’s belly to consume him completely.
Moli was undeniably adorable, something no one could deny. Who could refuse such a timidly charming Orca Girl?
A second after hearing her words, Fisher’s gaze darkened and his fingers slightly lifted, his whole arm moving upward a bit as if he wanted to grasp Moli’s body...
But before he could initiate any specific action, Xiayat, standing at the river’s edge behind him, waved at Fisher while calling out to them,
