Chapter 246: 104. Advertisement Paper of Pink Hall
After scouring the kitchen, Fisher felt a bit challenged, as there wasn’t much left for Lady Martha or himself to eat, save for some bread, jam, and a small portion of preserved meat—hardly enough to fill the gaps between Moli’s teeth.
After pondering for a while, Fisher slowly closed the lid where the food was stored. He wondered, if he were to use these to cook for Moli, how he would explain this to Lady Martha without Moli being able to transform back into human form. Would she suspect that a food thief had broken into their home?
Having no other choice, Fisher had to order takeout from a restaurant on the street. Continuing the tradition of feeding the Dragon-man Species on the South Continent, Fisher ordered several Nali special roast chickens, a classic dish that was both affordable and delicious in Nali cuisine.
By the time he returned to his room with the plates, Moli had just finished her bath. She was wearing Fisher’s shirt, which was quite large for her, the hem reaching mid-thigh like a skirt, and the sleeves were overly long too.
Moli, freshly bathed, carried a faint scent of flowers, identical to what Fisher had smelled before.
Given her personality, she wouldn’t use any human-made fragrance products, so this was indeed her natural body scent, which was very pleasant.
However, as Fisher’s shirt was ultimately designed for men, its ill fit made her sit rigidly on the couch, her softness drawing the gaze of any man who saw her.
Moli’s light blue hair was damp and un-wiped, and upon feeling Fisher’s gaze, her cheeks blushed as she gently covered her chest with her hands, as if to hide her overwhelmingly racing heartbeat.
"Because I... didn’t know what to use to wipe... so for now..."
Her eyes flitted, despite talking to Fisher and facing him, she couldn’t help but look at the doorframe beside him, as if seeing Fisher’s body was a crime.
"I don’t have a towel you can use...this is food, please eat some."
Seeing the aromatic roast chickens, Moli’s eyes lit up. Fisher clearly saw her swallow, but even so, she cautiously looked at Fisher before eating, pressing her hands together and sincerely said,
"Thank you, Mr. Fischer, for granting me this food..."
Fisher sat beside her and handed her the dining utensils, shaking his head,
"You don’t need to call me teacher anymore. You can’t return to Saint Nali University to continue studying, and Nali’s officials will investigate the purpose of a demi-human infiltrating a human institution and probably search for you too. I’ve also just resigned from my position as a professor of Magic Class at Saint Nali University."
As Moli was about to start eating, she paused slightly at Fisher’s words, feeling a bit saddened. Her long ears drooped slightly, and she pursed her lips softly before saying,
"I’m sorry, Mr. Fischer."
She set down the utensils, stretched out her hand gently, and between her pale fingers seemed to flow endless vitality. However, beneath that abundance of vitality, if one looked closely, one might detect strands of black streams shadowing the glowing water.
If looked at more closely, it was clear that the black streams underlay her pupils, making them hard to detect, while the glowing streams were fewer, seeming imbalanced as they were dragged into the abyss by the darkness.
Moli couldn’t balance the Blessing and the curse within the Whale-man Species’s body as other tribe members could easily do with the aid of their Companion Sea Beasts.
Although her Mother had said it was because the curse within her was stronger than any Whale-man Species, Moli wasn’t good at blaming others, only when she couldn’t hide her inner bashfulness would she secretly blame it on the romance comics Milica had shown her...
Thus, she always believed that failing to balance was all her fault.
Because she couldn’t balance, the power of the curse dominated her body, harming humans, exposing her identity as a Whale-man, and leading to her never seeing Milica and Isabella again, and causing Mr. Fischer to resign...
She didn’t even dare to imagine what expressions Milica and Isabella would have if they knew she was a demi-human.
Moli felt somewhat guilty, and tears trickled down with her thoughts, falling onto the floor of Fisher’s room,
"I... couldn’t achieve the balance my Mother spoke of... so I..."
As Fisher listened, he recalled the characteristics of the Whale-man Species that Moli had mentioned before.
Every time Moli was attacked or frightened, she would enter that perilous Battle State, which she herself had described as incredibly dangerous, eventually leading to unpredictable bad outcomes.
Balancing the Blessing and the curse was key, but Fisher didn’t understand how other Whale-man Species managed it, nor could he teach her, though there were some other things he could do.
Watching her sit with her head lowered and crying, Fisher silently reached under Moli, waiting for a hot teardrop to gently fall into his palm. As Moli noticed Fisher’s action and looked up in surprise, Fisher clenched that teardrop along with his palm, made a fist, and placed it in front of Moli.
