Chapter 180: 78. Rescue Operation_2

Prince Luosang would be best to stay here, considering how important he is. If something were to happen to him alone, the gravity of the situation would rise to the highest level.

Fisher was still unclear on how the people from the Pink Hall managed to set up such a Super Ring Magic within Nali’s intricate defense network silently and unnoticed. The setting up of Super Ring Magic takes a lot of time and must be done near the building, yet the vicinity had almost been scoured by the New Party’s people...

As Fisher was thinking, a faint scream came from below, prompting the scholars of Schwali to become intolerable, struggling to go down. After all, their family members were down there, and if something were to happen, they wouldn’t stand a chance given their age.

Fisher glanced at Prince Luosang and quickly made a decision. He spoke up,

"This is what we’ll do. Roger and I will go down and bring back our families, and the rest of you stay here to protect the Silver Mirror and everyone else."

Prince Luosang smiled, then looked at Roger, who had also stepped forward. He pulled out a silver-white dagger adorned with several rubies from his chest and said to them,

"Then it’s settled. I have a dagger with me. If you’re in need of a weapon, you can..."

"No need, I have this."

Fisher pulled out a black sword handle from his chest, his Fluid Sword. Moli beside him opened her mouth in surprise upon seeing the sword and was about to say something when she covered her mouth. But her eyes still betrayed her shock. Luckily, given the current tense atmosphere, no one paid attention to her reaction.

"Um, I’ll take that, Your Highness."

"Good. We’ll wait for you on the fourth floor. Make it quick."

Roger took the dagger from Prince Luosang, following Fisher nervously.

Fisher handed him a Magic Wand lit with magic, engraved with various spells. Fisher gave it to him directly, as he himself was protected by his Constitution and Fluid Sword. It was apparent that Roger hadn’t carved any spells to bring in, and his combat capability would indeed be weak without magic.

Carlo called the waiters standing outside to enter the room where the Silver Mirror was stored, and then Prince Luosang and she stood by the Gate, vigilantly watching the pitch-black corridor outside.

Fisher, along with a fear-stricken Roger, proceeded along the corridor towards the stairway. Soon, the light from their wands vanished at the stairwell.

"Hee hee..."

A ghostly sound began to echo along the corridor, like tangible shadows laying in waiting in the darkness, quietly observing Fisher and Roger as they quickly descended the stairs.

"Fisher... slow down..."

Roger was middle-aged and, in such a tense and enclosed environment, soon began to pant, gasping for air.

Fisher frowned and stopped, turning around with a cold look on his face. Roger thought he was angry and was about to explain when he suddenly saw Fisher raise his right hand. A whiplike silver blade sliced up along the stairwell’s wall, cutting into the bug-like creatures hidden in the shadows in two.

It turned out that many such creatures had followed them since they started descending.

Roger was covered in cold sweat as he lifted the Magic Wand, looking up the stairs to see the wall crammed with countless spider-like figures. On those figures, twisted or merged Human heads with chilling smiles stared down at the two men below, nearly causing Roger to fumble the Magic Wand.

Outside the nearby window, more figures clung to the sides, seemingly climbing upward, targeting those above.

"Fisher, what should we do? It looks like those creatures are all heading up."

"There are some down below too."

Fisher looked down to see many flickering shadows in the banquet hall below. It was clear the monsters wanted to exterminate everyone inside the building and that it wasn’t as simple as just targeting Bishop Casheo’s Silver Mirror.

After thinking for a second or two, Fisher turned to Roger and instructed,

"From now on, follow behind me. We can’t waste time, we run straight to those people. There are many spells on the Magic Wand, don’t be thrifty, cast when you hear any sound. Otherwise, if we get caught, it’s likely someone will die, understand?"

Although Roger was older, in that moment, calm Fisher always seemed to give a sense of security. Roger nodded, raising his Magic Wand like a torch and lifted the dagger with his Left Hand, looking fully prepared.

"No problem! May the Mother Goddess bless us, Mother Goddess bless..."

"Alright, follow me."

Fisher retracted the Fluid Sword like a whip, noting its mercury-like blade was clean of blood, unexpectedly useful and very light.

Right after Fisher spoke, the two of them dashed out from the stairwell. Their figures triggered some kind of switch, and the broad first-floor hall erupted with a swarm of shrieking sounds. Roger clenched his teeth, casting whatever spell he felt on the wand but refrained from casting High Ring spells for fear of blowing the first floor apart.

Within the darkness, spells like Bee Dance, Wind Blade, and Spinner lit up, thrown at the densely packed creatures on the wall. The intermittent shrieks and the stench of blood whitened Roger’s face, but he forced himself to keep up with Fisher ahead.
