Chapter 152: 63. Moli Teaching Assistant_2
From between her brows, her waterfall-like black hair split to reveal her rosy human ears at the front of her ears, and so Fisher caught sight of them.
She seemed far too shy, just the request for a self-introduction was enough to make her like this.
"Mr. Fischer, Moli is a bit scared to speak in a place with so many people,"
Isabella noticed Moli standing dizzily on the stage and quickly approached the podium to explain on behalf of Moli ahead of time.
After Isabella explained, Moli nodded her head silly, then gently tugged on Isabella’s hand, looking like she needed support.
Actually, she wasn’t supposed to be so panicked, on the contrary, she really liked to communicate, otherwise, her mother would not have called her a "chatterbox".
She just wasn’t accustomed to speaking in front of so many people, all of a sudden, so many gazes came in so clearly, which made her uneasy.
"Sorry, Mr. Fischer..."
Now that the students had left, she breathed out a warm breath and said somewhat apologetically.
"It’s fine, I was negligent, I didn’t consider your nervousness, later I’ll have you practice communication more..."
Fischer spoke in such a way, making Moli steal a glance at him. As soon as she tried to shift her gaze, a knock on the door and the voice of another school staff member came from the entrance of the classroom, interrupting her action and making her quickly move her gaze back onto Isabella’s hand.
"Professor Fischer, the magic laboratory your class requires is ready, it’s on the second floor of Building A, here are the keys to the classroom."
"Ah, thank you, I thought the approval process would take a while longer."
The visitor was a teacher from the academic office. Once the course Magic Introduction moved on to the various parts of magic, according to the textbook, teachers needed to use a magic classroom to perform some magic demonstrations that couldn’t be done in lecture halls.
Fischer did not apply by himself; Roger, who also taught this course, had applied for him. According to Fischer’s original plan, he intended to take the students to an arbitrary spot outside to demonstrate a few High Ring Magic spells and be done with it, but this approach was unanimously criticized by Roger and Selena.
Fischer’s mentor was Mr. Helsen, who belonged to the traditional magic teaching school. An even more traditional magic teaching would have the students experience getting their buttocks burned by magic to verify its risks.
Fischer felt it was a pity modern students could no longer do this.
Fischer took the string of keys when suddenly he remembered something and turned his head towards Moli,
"By the way, do you have classes this afternoon?"
"No... no, Professor Fischer."
"In that case, would you like to go with me to Saint Nali’s Magic Market this afternoon to buy Magic Materials needed for next week’s class? It would also be an opportunity to teach you some knowledge not found in textbooks... Princess Isabella, if you’re interested, you can join us, too."
"Oh, yes, that’d be great, Mr. Fischer. I have a class in the afternoon with another professor, but I can skip it."
The prospect of not having to attend class in the afternoon and being able to visit Saint Nali’s city with Fischer to see various kinds of Magic Materials lit up Isabella’s eyes and energized her, banishing the listlessness from earlier in class.
Her disinterest in studies sharply contrasted with her own biological sister; back in the day, Elizabeth would study in the library daily until it closed, one of Principal Damien’s proudest students. Who knew that Gedelin’s bloodline would become a burden of laziness in Isabella.
"Since you have class, you should go attend it. How about it, would you like to go see the market with me?"
"Ah... sure, I’d love to go!"
This was when the benefit of volunteer teaching revealed itself. Otherwise, he would not have had a legitimate reason to invite Moli to spend time alone with him, nor talk about uncovering the mystery of her identity.
However, Fischer was not in a hurry, from previous observations, Moli’s character did not appear to be very mature or guarded. Of course, this could also be a facade she put on, and Fischer couldn’t be careless.
The situation now was that he knew Moli’s identity, but she knew nothing about him. Leveraging his advantageous situation, Fischer intended to first try some verbal tactics to gather some basic information, then depending on the situation, design a trap to lure this Whale-man Species girl into exposing her flaws.
Isabella, looking quite regretful, though she didn’t show it, her eyes held the resentment of not being able to skip class. Fischer helplessly told Moli that after returning, she should recount what she learned to Isabella and the others. Only then did Isabella cheerfully leave the classroom.
So in the classroom, there was only Fischer and Moli left.
"I’m ready to set off immediately. Do you have anything you need to bring? It’s better if you leave those textbooks at school. It’s a good chance to test your memory of the previous knowledge points. Later, while searching for Magic Materials, I will casually ask you some questions to reinforce some knowledge that’s easily overlooked."
Moli nodded nervously. Even though she trusted her memory, facing a teacher’s evaluation always made her involuntarily anxious; she even felt like reviewing the textbook again.
At this moment, she secretly rejoiced that Isabella hadn’t come along, for if Mr. Fischer asked something she couldn’t answer, she would certainly go back to her dorm crying, claiming she had "lost face for Gedelin." Whenever Isabella embarrassed herself outside, she would become self-critical in the dormitory after lights out for her daytime conduct.
