Chapter 1351: Chapter 589: You’re So Good at Fighting, Why Didn’t You Say Sooner?_5

Clatter, clatter, falling to the ground.

"Aah-ooh!"

The woman opened her mouth and lunged at Zheng Yu Huang.

"Holy shit!"

Zheng Yu Huang was so scared his hair stood on end. He instinctively backed up, but the living corpse woman grabbed his hair with her right hand.

Seeing the living corpse woman’s foul, corpse-stinking mouth coming over to bite him, Zheng Yu Huang screamed in terror.

"Help!"

Zheng Yu Huang threw his fist forward, but Lin Baici moved faster, landing a straight punch directly on the living corpse woman’s face.

Bang!

The living corpse woman fell off the mortuary cabinet.

"Aaah!"

Zheng Yu Huang clutched his head. The living corpse woman had yanked out a large chunk of his hair, but he couldn’t even bother with that now. He stared straight at the woman: "A living corpse?"

The woman’s body was mildly decomposed; it was clearly a corpse.

The living corpse woman flipped over, lunging at Zheng Yu Huang like a mad dog on the hunt.

Zheng Yu Huang hurriedly retreated, while Lin Baici, beside him, swung his leg in a kick.

Bam!

The living corpse woman was sent flying.

Lin Baici fully opened the mortuary cabinet, rummaging from inside and pulling out two lengths of rope, then walked toward the living corpse woman.

Zheng Yu Huang stared at Lin Baici, stunned at his calmness. "You... you’re not scared?"

"Does it help to be scared?"

Lin Baici shot back, delivering another kick to the living corpse woman who was crawling up again, stomping on her belly, and leaping forward to step on her back. Pressing her two arms behind her, he started tying her up.

The living corpse woman struggled, kicking her legs wildly.

Lin Baici didn’t ask Zheng Yu Huang for help. Yet, the guy had some guts—or maybe he just didn’t want to lose face in front of others—so he swallowed his fear and nervousness, rushing over.

"What should I do?"

"Tie up her legs!"

Lin Baici tossed the other piece of rope to him.

Zheng Yu Huang caught it, set his feet wide, bent down, and first tied up one of the living corpse woman’s legs with the rope, before tying the other one.

Lin Baici kept his foot planted firmly on the living corpse woman’s spine, immobilizing her, while watching Zheng Yu Huang fumbling through the job.

After five minutes of struggling, Zheng Yu Huang finally finished.

Lin Baici was about to call Mountain Chicken and Expensive Durian over to help, but Big Sweet Sister had already brought a corpse bag on her own, squatting on the floor to begin slipping it over the living corpse woman.

"Let me do it!"

Zheng Yu Huang stepped in.

The task wasn’t physically demanding, but it was gut-wrenching. By the time Zheng Yu Huang shoved the living corpse woman into the corpse bag and slid her back into the mortuary cabinet, he was drenched in sweat.

"What the hell is going on here?"

Leaning against the mortuary cabinet, Zheng Yu Huang looked toward Lin Baici. "You’re so calm; you must know something, right?"

Big Sweet Sister also looked over.

Indeed,

even for a forensic pathologist or police officer, facing a living corpse like this, they shouldn’t be as composed as Lin Baici. He acted like he’d seen it all before.

"Rather than asking this, why not start by looking for the mortuary cabinets with your names labeled on them?"

Lin Baici urged them, continuing to search for clues.

Everyone had had enough of this place and moved toward the door, wanting to find something to smash it open. But the room, apart from these cabinets, didn’t even have a chair.

"Aren’t you going to collect his remains?"

A woman, staring at Brother Kun’s wide-eyed corpse, found it horrifying and prompted Expensive Durian and Mountain Chicken to handle the body.

Expensive Durian and Mountain Chicken exchanged a glance.

To be honest,

they didn’t really want to!

Dealing with corpses is a job no one enjoys.

"Wasn’t he your friend?"

The woman’s words embarrassed Expensive Durian and the others.

"Let’s go!"

Expensive Durian called out to them, walking to Brother Kun’s side and pulling a corpse bag from one of the mortuary cabinets. "Mountain Chicken, shoes, help me out! Let’s bag Brother Kun up."

Shoe-lover didn’t move; Mountain Chicken and Instant Noodles squatted nearby instead.

"Mountain Chicken, you grab his legs, I’ll grab his head, Durian, you hold the bag open!"

Instant Noodles reached out to lift Brother Kun’s neck.

Just as they exerted effort to lift Brother Kun, he suddenly opened his eyes.

"Holy shit!"

Mountain Chicken jumped, panickedly letting go of Brother Kun’s legs to retreat quickly.

"Hold on to the legs... What the hell are you doing?"

Instant Noodles barely finished his words before Brother Kun grabbed his arm and sank his open mouth into it, biting down hard.

"Ahhh!"

Instant Noodles screamed in pain, trying to shake off Brother Kun’s head, but the guy’s bite strength was astonishing. He started swinging punches, trying to shove him away.

"Help me!!!"

Instant Noodles yelled desperately.

"What the fuck, he’s alive?"

"Not dead?"

"Bullshit ’not dead,’ he’s biting people, does this look like a normal person to you?"

The group was startled all over again.

Mountain Chicken didn’t dare step in, Shoe-lover had already backed off, and Expensive Durian hesitated before rushing forward anyway.

Among the team, he and Instant Noodles had the closest bond.

With no weapons handy, fists were the only option.

Expensive Durian threw two punches at Brother Kun’s head.

Bam! Bam!

Just as Expensive Durian tried to grab Brother Kun by the hair to pull him off, Brother Kun abruptly let go of Instant Noodles and lunged at Expensive Durian like a ravenous dog.

Brother Kun’s gaping mouth dripped with saliva.

Instinctively, Expensive Durian raised his hand to block.

Crunch!

Brother Kun bit down on Expensive Durian’s finger.

Excruciating pain!

The pain from Expensive Durian’s hand was so severe it was paralyzing.

Crack!

His finger was torn clean off.

"Big Cousin, give me a hand, will you?"

Expensive Durian shouted.

Lin Baici didn’t move, coldly watching the scene unfold. "When I asked you guys earlier, you all did nothing. Now the trouble has come, deal with it yourselves!"
