Chapter 1245: Chapter 1249 Yun Jue

“You are incapable,” Lian Jinshang shook her head, “My belt contains a mechanism, and if you accidentally trigger it, you’ll be poisoned and die. I’m not lying to you, it’s true!”

“Stop talking nonsense,” Gu Chi said, “you tell me, I’ll find it.”

“Let her find it,” Qiao Zui stopped Gu Chi, “Watch her closely.”

He did not believe that with so many people around, a physically disabled person could cause any trouble.

Qiao Zui reached out and pulled all the iron spikes from Lian Jinshang’s body, and she screamed in pain, wishing she could just die to end the suffering.

But the Gu Family had injected her with some drug, she was in excruciating pain yet, ironically, she could not faint, and the pain was immensely magnified. She truly wished she could just die to get relief.

After removing all the iron spikes, Qiao Zui signaled the bodyguard to take Lian Jinshang down from the wall.

The bodyguard stepped forward, unlocked the chains, and Lian Jinshang fell to the ground, writhing in agony again, her body curling up on the floor, spasming.

Gu Chi threw the belt down in front of her, then squatted in front of her, “Don’t play tricks, or I guarantee you’ll be a hundred, a thousand times more miserable than now!”

Lian Jinshang, with difficulty, grasped the belt, attempting to open it.

However, suddenly, her body started to spasm slightly.

Moments later, she stopped twitching, curled up on the ground, motionless.

Gu Chi quickly pressed his finger to her carotid artery.

After a moment, his face drastically changed, he turned to Qiao Zui with a pale face, “Dead, is she dead?”

Qiao Zui frowned and turned Lian Jinshang’s body over.

Lian Jinshang’s eyes were closed; from her almost disfigured face, one could actually see a hint of peace.

“She had taken poison earlier, and when the time came, she didn’t take the antidote, so the poison killed her,” Qiao Zui coldly looked at Lian Jinshang’s corpse, snatched the belt from her hand, “Since she was prepared to die, she obviously didn’t intend to find the antidote for us but to destroy it.”

He searched and found a hidden compartment in the belt, opening them one by one, his eyes soon filled with a murderous frenzy.

The belt surprisingly contained more than a dozen hidden compartments.

Each compartment held a pill the size of a red bean, each a different color, impossible to tell which was poison and which was the antidote.

He was so furious he wished he could tear Lian Jinshang’s body into thousands of pieces.

But now, finding the antidote for his uncle was the priority.

He stood up, directing Gu Chi, “Connect with Ah Jue, I want a video call with him.”

Gu Chi hesitated a bit, “But…”

“There are no buts! Connect with Ah Jue, now, immediately!” Qiao Zui looked at him, his gaze sharp and fierce.

Gu Chi bowed his head, “Yes, Master Qiao!”

He took out his phone, dialed a number, and sent a video call invitation.

Moments later, the video call was accepted.

A sleepy young man in his twenties appeared on the video, groggily asking, “Brother Chi? Why are you calling me? Didn’t grandfather forbid you guys from contacting me?”

“Ah Jue, it’s me,” Qiao Zui said into the phone screen, “Uncle has been poisoned.”

Yun Jue was momentarily stunned, then abruptly sat up in bed, eyes wide, staring at the screen, “What? Brother, don’t joke with me in the middle of the night, how could uncle be poisoned?”

“It’s true,” Qiao Zui showed him the belt on the phone, “The person who poisoned uncle is already dead, I think I have found the antidote, but there are a dozen pills here, and I can’t tell which one is the antidote, come over right away, see if you can figure something out.”
