Death… And Me -
Chapter 3671: You Are Free
Chapter 3671: You Are Free
Orcao and Ermon, the Centipede Demon Insect and the Formations Master who were siding with the Angel, immediately raised their hands. "We would like to side with Fishel."
They already have their own plan about how to reach the Celestial Realm, and the payment they will get from Fishel is what they require. So, they didn’t really need anything else. The idea of dying with Fishel didn’t seem very good, but they would do anything for the rest of that yellow blob material.
They, together with another small bunch, also selected the twins’ reward. As mentioned before, the majority who got to this place were the cream of the crop. Only a few got here because they were lucky enough, and it was exactly those lucky ones who decided to take a chosen’s side.
Well, it was easy to imagine no one sided with Rifindio. Why would they side with a Space-Time Realm expert... or so you would think.
"Guess this is my chance," a voice echoed, and two experts got by Rifindio’s side.
Rifindio looked at the two, sighing. "You are crazy, Royer, Elsie. Did you forget about the problem we are all born with?"
"I didn’t," Royer shook his head, then glanced at the twins’ group, "but they can help prevent it from happening. Elsie and I will help with what we can." Royer recovered his strength after absorbing that fake enemy back in the arena, and now he could use it.
Elsie followed suit. "I won’t be of much help, but I’ll do whatever I can."
The Romuteri Clan members looked at Futsuka. It was okay if they helped protect him, but they also wanted the mark for themselves. It seemed like being a chosen one was part of the requirements to become a Universe Owner, after all. If they sided with Futsuka, that wouldn’t be possible anymore.
The kid could see that, turning to his disciple, Fortune Romuteri.
Fortune understood his master’s intention, proclaiming right after. "There is no need to think I will take revenge on those who kill Futsuka and take away his chosen mark. He is my chosen, and I believe him. However, if he dies, then that just means I was wrong. Besides, you would become my Universe F954 next owner, and would have the same cultivation as me, so it isn’t like I could do anything against you. Decide for yourselves if you really want to side with him."
"The same goes for my Universe F951," the other Universe Owner spoke to the angels. "It is all up to you."
It was as if everyone from the Romuteri Clan was pardoned, and they all took distance from Futsuka, who bitterly smiled. Sure enough, he didn’t have a single ally there. Everyone had their own agendas... except for two elders. "Elder Jateps, Pekvie, why?"
"Don’t get us wrong," Pekvie and Jateps spoke back to Futsuka. "We just don’t like the idea of being locked in our Universe. Besides, we are confident that with the knowledge about how to become a normal Celestial Realm Expert, we can achieve it."
Futska definitely wouldn’t refuse that. "Even so, thank you."
The chosen with the biggest number of allies turned out to be Gamera. Due to the pact he made with the other members of his race, they were forced to side with him, a total of thirteen Divine Jade Turtles.
---
Seeing that everyone got their own companions, the kid continued. "Well, the chosen ones got more allies than I expected. Oh well, so be it. Now then, you are probably thinking what you have to do."
"First, and the most obvious, the only way you can become a Universe Owner is if you acquire all eight marks. Rifindio has four, and Fishel has two. Gamera and Futsuka have one each."
The kid waved his hand, and the area transformed. No, actually, nothing changed at all. The only thing that changed was what they were seeing.
In the next second, something weird took place in their sights. Everyone’s appearances... changed too! Not a single expert could be recognized anymore. Appearance, Aura, you name it. Nothing looked like it did before. It was so ridiculous that a big Demon Beast might actually look like a small Demon Plant. Even their senses were affected so that they wouldn’t perceive that the real sizes didn’t match the appearances. To make things worse...
*Zush, zush, zush, zush, zush...*
Spatial Powers gathered in the area, and everyone was teleported... to the same place. Yet, everyone was in a different position than they were initially, and their appearances changed once again. Who was who? And where did they appear?
The naked eye was meaningless; you couldn’t recognize anyone.
Aura was useless, even the Demon Beast ones. They were all changed, and no one could counter that modification.
Sound? It didn’t work. The sound of your voice was different, and you were the only one who could hear it. No one else could talk to you, and the same was valid the other way around.
Divine Senses? Completely nullified!
Bloodlines? Just as useless. You couldn’t feel them.
Natural Spatial Perception? Too bad, it was distorted the moment the teleports were concluded. No one could sense anything other than a black haze on that side.
Laws? He blocked them all! None of the experts could touch the laws they had lived with for so many years. They even wondered how the kid achieved such a thing so easily. Were Celestial Realm Experts that strong?
The kid was thorough and thorough. He really made it impossible to tell each other’s identities.
Then, finally, he continued his explanation. He seemed to be really enjoying that. "If I let you all gang up on the Chosen guys, it wouldn’t be fun at all. I obviously had to level the playing field. Believe me, not even the chosen ones can feel each other anymore. I’m the only one you all can hear, too. Now then, you are free to do as you please. As long as one of you gets all eight marks, the test is over."
