Death… And Me
Chapter 3667: They Are Here

Chapter 3667: They Are Here

Several mouths twitched. "Privacy, your ass!"

Elder Zick, of the Camazotz Bats, was the first to approach with his other members of the Supreme Palace. After all, Rean’s group was entirely from his Universe.

Still, the rest of the experts there wouldn’t let it go that easily. "Zick, do not intervene! We need to investigate how they got here!"

Zick stopped between the twins’ group and the rest. "I won’t stop anyone. I’m also curious about the same thing. However, I’m not going to sit by and see you all trying to torture or force your ways into their souls. First, let’s hear what they have to say."

Rean put on his clothes, and the other members of his group approached Zick and the other bats. It was obvious the bats weren’t very happy, too. Still, the twins’ group didn’t ask for anyone to protect them.

"Everyone, calm down. There is no need to feel this angry just because we were sleeping, having some tea, or taking a bath, right?" Rean reached out to the various experts, not feeling the least bit worried.

"Who the hell cares about that, idiot?!" Sure enough, everyone cursed. "What we want to know is how you got here!"

"Oh! That!" Rean nodded. He walked past the bats, now in range to be captured by the other experts if they made a move. Yet, before anyone did anything, Rean pointed upwards. "There isn’t much of a secret. In fact, it was quite simple. We used that crack on the ceiling."

"Crack... on the ceiling?" The thousands of experts looked upwards, but all they could see was a gray sky, kind of hazy, with no cracks whatsoever.

Rean faintly smiled, and a ball of Light Element appeared on his hand. It then took the shape of an arrow, which Rean shot upwards.

*Zush!*

Rean made sure to add a lot of Light Element and Divine Energy. After all, the ceiling was very high, and it would take a while for the arrow to get there. Fortunately, everything went according to plan.

*Bzz, btzzz, bbbzzztzzz...*

The arrow reached the gray sky, and instead of hitting the ceiling, it passed through it. Following that, the area where the arrow passed began to distort, obviously a flaw in that illusion of a sky. Everyone knew it wasn’t really a sky, that the ceilings projected whatever they were built for. But the distortion showed an enormous crack shape, and for a few moments, the experts saw the Great Void past it.

"There is really a crack on the ceiling..." Someone couldn’t help but comment.

*Zush, zush, zush, zush, zush...*

Several different types of attacks were then shot upwards. Would they simply believe Rean’s attempt? Of course not! They needed to see it for themselves, with their own abilities.

The same thing happened over and over, and no one could doubt Rean’s words anymore. There was definitely an opening in the ceiling, connected to the outside.

Still, another question remained. "Alright, there is indeed a crack on the ceiling, but how did you even manage to get outside to use it?"

"The Astral Tree..." It wasn’t Rean who answered, but someone else. In fact, quite a few experts there had the same idea. They knew the Astral Tree pierced through the ceiling.

Rean smiled and explained the whole process. "So, we gambled that perhaps the Astral Tree always created openings in the Golden Palace. It’s just that those openings repaired themselves and were concealed by the illusions of the ceilings until they closed up. It is impossible to see through that illusion from inside, but outside, the crack was pretty obvious."

"Too bad this was the only crack we found. Otherwise, we would have gone further into the palace. When we arrived here, we found this gate, but we were stuck. So, with nothing else to do, we simply waited. We couldn’t fly back anyway. Worst case scenario, we would simply leave the Golden Palace when it closed."

Many experts cursed themselves. And, at the same time, they felt jealous of the twins’ group. Didn’t everyone go through so much danger for nothing? There was such an easy way to get here all along! Well, you couldn’t blame the twins’ group for that. They made a gamble that not many would be willing to take to start with. That also explained how such a ’weak group’ managed to get here before them.

While most of the experts sighed, a few of them had their eyes locked on Rifindio on the back, by Roan’s side. Naturally, the Angel, the Turtle, and the Romuteri Clan guy noticed his presence, and so did Rifindio theirs.

In fact, Rifindio gave them the strongest sensation of all. They weren’t idiots. That meant Rifindio most likely had more marks than themselves. How did an Initial Stage Space-Time Realm expert get that many? They didn’t know. That didn’t matter either. At least they now knew where to acquire more marks, and that ant wouldn’t be able to protect the marks.

The only question now was whether they should attack Rifindio. Rifindio can sense their presence, which means he could also identify the mark owners and tell the rest of the experts present.

"Alright," a group from the F949 Universe ignored Rean after he explained everything. They knew Rean was probably not lying, and fighting the Camazotz Bats for him wouldn’t make any sense. Instead, they walked in the gate’s direction.

The others quickly followed; no one wanted to be left behind. Rean then turned to Elder Zick, smiling. "Thanks for the help again, Elder Zick. But we were fine on our own."

"Hmph!" Zick snorted, completely ignoring Rean from there onwards. "We only wanted to be the first to learn about your secrets. Since you got here because of that gamble of yours, we have no use for you. Let’s go!"

He gathered the other Camazotz Bats and moved to the gate, not far behind. But then, he remembered something. "By the way, have you tried to open this thing?"

Rean nodded. "We definitely did, but this thing doesn’t budge."

"Very well..." Zick didn’t stop and made his way over with the rest.

Still, they noticed Rifindio there, although he didn’t give the aura of a Camazotz Bat. "I don’t remember having seen a bat race like yours before."

Rifindio scratched the back of his head. He was relieved they didn’t notice he was the same guy from back in the lake. Most likely, they failed to notice that because his cultivation changed as well, not just his aura. As for the Regal part of his bloodline, it was hidden again. "I’m actually a hybrid, nothing worth the Divine Camazotz Bats’ notice."

"That’s true," the Bat nodded and passed by him, ignoring Rifindio.

The other chosen didn’t make a move, but they sure had their eyes focused on Rifindio. It’s just that Rifindio also walked behind the Camazotz Bats. Since they came from the same Universe, there was a chance the Camazotz Bats would act to protect Rifindio.

Not long after, the thousands of experts stopped in front of the gate. What exactly should they do here?

*Blin... blin, blin, blin, blin...*

It was at that moment that the gate reacted. The lights on Rifindio, Futsuka, Gamera, and Galatia’s chest intensified, reacting to the images on the enormous gate. From the looks of it, you needed all eight marks to open it, and now they are here.
