Death… And Me
Chapter 3666: Privacy?

Chapter 3666: Privacy?

It goes without saying that Gamera’s appearance caught everyone’s attention. Naturally, so did the Romuteri Clan experts, where their chosen was hidden.

Gamera looked over the Romuteri Clan’s forces, and he immediately felt the chosen’s presence. ’What was his name...? Hum... Oh, right! Futsuka, that’s his name.’

Futsuka quickly contacted the other members of his group, and they all looked in Gamera’s direction. Seeing that Gamera was from their Universe, the leader of the Romuteri Clan in that place sent Gamera a Divine Sense Message. ’Well done. Come over so we can protect you until the time comes for you to pass over the mark.’

Gamera snorted in disdain. ’Why don’t you ask me to kill myself already? It is no secret that the only way to pass the mark is by killing your opponent. We all heard about it. Anyway, this is the Golden Palace, and here, I have no need to obey your clan, Frigaldo.’

Frigaldo narrowed his eyes. Obviously, Gamera knew him. ’And what do you intend to do? Try to become a Celestial Realm Expert yourself? No one even knows if these marks and this chosen shit are really related to it. Also, if you become a Celestial Realm Expert, you will have to leave our Universe. Are you sure you want to be our enemy with your entire race still living in our F954 Universe?’

Gamera shrugged. ’That’s not for you to decide. The Divine Jade Turtle controls the seas, and they sure will put up a fight if you decide to attack. Sure, you are much stronger, but I wonder if you are willing to accept the losses.’

’We would have pretty much no losses,’ Frigaldo snorted. ’We have plenty of subordinates like your race to send after you. Our Romuteri Clan will be fine. Yes, you will have to die to give the mark to us, but think twice. Is it not good enough since it will guarantee your race’s existence?’

Gamera has already made up his mind. ’It is not, and my companions here agree with me. If you want, come here and kill me. You have more experts, so it will be hard to defend against you. Just remember we aren’t the only chosen ones here.’ Gamera then glanced at the Angel in the midst of the Angel Race from Universe F951. ’I’m sure they would love to see us going at each other.’

’Also...’ Gamera’s confidence was sky high. ’You are obviously hiding the fact that Futsuka is the chosen. You don’t want me to mistakenly spread my Divine Sense and point out just who within your Romuteri Clan is the chosen, now do you?’

Frigaldo’s eyes narrowed. ’You... Do you really want to burn this bridge?’

’This bridge you are talking about doesn’t exist in the Golden Palace,’ Gamera wasn’t the least bit convinced. ’It has always been like this, and it is not different now. You wouldn’t even flinch if you had to sacrifice our entire race for a chance of reaching the Celestial Realm. Don’t pretend. Your Romuteri Clan is protecting Futsuka, but every single one of you is also waiting for an opportunity to take away his mark.’

Frigaldo wanted to retort, but that was the truth. If a chance to acquire the mark without putting himself in a certain death situation appeared, he would kill Futsuka without thinking twice. ’Very well. Just don’t blame the Romuteri Clan for what might happen to your Divine Jade Turtle Race back home. Also, we still intend to take this mark of yours, so keep your neck clean until the time comes.’

’Hmph!’ Gamera couldn’t care less. But then again, he also knew his own Divine Jade Turtles would love to take his mark away from him. It’s just that they couldn’t due to a certain ritual made by their race before departing the Universe F954. Nonetheless, they still hovered around, waiting for any possible opportunity.

Galatia, the Chosen Angel, also looked at the Turtles. He noticed that the Romuteri Clan didn’t make a move, even though they were from the same Universe as the Turtles. Naturally, he wondered if they were allies. He was confused. ’Could it be that those two have the other six marks? If not, where are the rest of the marks? Their owners should have gathered here already. Maybe they are coming? Could it be they died?’ He didn’t have an answer for that.

A month before the runes disappeared, another small group arrived, only five members. If the twins were here, they would have recognized three members of this group. They were Royer, Elsie, and Werkel. They ended up joining forces with a few other experts, but some of those experts still died on the way here.

Rean and the others would definitely find it strange to see Royer here. After all, they believed Royer would give up on the way since he knew he could be killed by Camazotz Bats at any moment. They could take away all his energy while making his core explode, sucking everything.

Royer did indeed intend to stop, but he was conflicted. Elsie even insisted they should find a corner to hide while waiting for the ten years of the Golden Palace Opening to be over. But, in the end, he couldn’t shake this feeling that he might be losing his only opportunity at the Celestial Realm.

Royer looked at the many experts gathered there. The numbers were nowhere near what they were at the entrance of the Golden Palace, but there were still a few thousand here. He couldn’t help but feel slightly nervous, knowing that almost every single expert there was above average at the very least.

"Master..." Elsie sighed, pointing into the distance. "There they are."

Royer looked over, and sure enough, he saw the Camazotz Bats, including the Elder Zick from back then. The Camazotz Bats looked over, but quickly ignored their small group. The bats only cared about the marks by now.

In fact, the bats were confused. They now knew each Universe had a chosen, regardless of what being a chosen meant. Yet, they had never seen their own. Even now, they haven’t found who from Universe F956 took that position.

"Are you sure you don’t want to avoid it, master?" Elsie asked. "We brushed death several times on our way here. It is still not too late to get away before the Camazotz Bats decide to use their trump card. Look around, there are quite a lot of experts from our Universe who are clueless about the bats’ abilities."

Royer shook his head. "You should hide alone instead. There is no need for you to risk it with me. I wish to give it a try. If it doesn’t work, so be it. I’ll take the risk."

Elsie didn’t like that. She came to the Golden Palace exclusively to find her master, after all. "Then I’m staying."

Royer nodded slightly, knowing that forcing Elsie wouldn’t work. He tried that already.

Time passed, and the last rune at the center of the barrier finally disappeared. Anyone could tell this barrier was made so everyone would eventually gather here. As for the reason for that, no one knew. They were all focused on the barrier, and if it goes down, no one will wait. They will all cross the barrier and run straight to the giant gate in the distance.

*Crack, crack, crack...*

Suddenly, cracks began to appear in that central area of the barrier. It spread like spiderwebs, making everyone excited. There wasn’t a single expert on the back. They were all close, ready to rush inside.

*Clash!*

The barrier finally broke down in the area where the runes disappeared, obviously unable to keep itself running without those runes. A gap of several kilometers appeared, giving everyone free passage into the next region.

"Let go!"

Sure enough, everyone rushed inside. There was plenty of space, so no one attacked the others around either. What mattered most was the gate. Who knows? Perhaps only the first one to arrive there would be allowed to enter or some shit like that.

Those hundreds of kilometers from the barrier to the gate passed fast. No one held back on their reserves of Divine Energy. But then, the first experts to get to the gate stopped. The rest soon did the same; they all looked at the gate with weird expressions.

No, they weren’t looking at the gate. Instead, they were looking at a certain group of low-level experts in front of it.

On one side, there was a small pool on the ground with steaming hot water, and a naked, white-haired young man relaxing inside. On the other side, a table with a teapot could be seen. Sitting by it, a black haired young man read a book while sipping on that tea. There was a young man with some bat features accompanying him in that leisure time. Slightly back, a big black and white bird seemed comfortably nesting on a branch of a Demon Tree, sleeping. The Demon Tree didn’t seem to mind.

The white-haired young man slowly opened his eyes in the pool, noticing the many experts and their incredible expressions. "Ah! Perverts! Can’t a man have some privacy?!"
