The leader could feel his life being squeezed out of him, his vision became blurry and then.

"Arghhh!" The demon screamed in pain and looked around to see where the attack came from but couldn’t find anyone.

The leader too didn’t know what happened but took the opportunity and grabbed Shino corpse and jumped backwards, the demon turned to him and attack again but her arms and legs immediately scattered.

"I’ll fight!, I...I’m also a supernatural" Kyoto stood in front of the leader, welding Kelvin sword.

"Huh?. What are you doing here!?" The leader shouted. "Get out!!!, You’ll get yourself killed!!"

"You came back?, Even after your friend sacrificed herself for your sake, how foolish can you be!?" The demon regrew her limbs and went for Kyoto.

Kyoto stood still and raised the sword up, immediately an invisible forced blew by and the demon limbs scattered again.

"Attack now!" The leader yelled. Kyoto raised the sword even higher, it slowly lit up with some kind of fiery energy.

The demon tried to regrow it limbs but it didn’t work, it tried to force it’s large body but it wasn’t moving either.

"W-w-what the hell!?" The demon looked at the leader and noticed he was holding some kind of strings that was reinforced with karma and was tied around her. "When did he?..."

"Amara sword technique:..." Kyoto yelled and lunched at the demon as the sword lit up in flames.

The heat from the sword made the demon sweat, or was it out of fear?.

"Please don’t..."

"...Morning sun~!"

Kevin and Rita ran up the stairs, they saw Kyoto, she stood still and staring at the end of the hallway.

"My sword?" Kelvin cried and quickly ran to Kyoto and collected his sword. It was melted.

"Where’s the leader?" Rita asked as she got to Kyoto but Kyoto didn’t respond.Rita turned to the end of the hallway and saw what Kyoto was staring at.

The leader kneeled on the floor, then there was a body in front of him but since he was facing the other way, they couldn’t see what he way doing.

"...she died..." Rita said weakly.

Kyoto slowly walked towards him but Rita held her hand.

"No civilian are meant to see the victim of a demon until it’s burned and buried."

"But she’s my friend" Kyoto retorted. "It’s my fault that she’s dead, I should at least see her for the last-"

"No, It’s not your fault. You are not a supernatural, so you shouldn’t blame yourself." the leader said calmly, he walked Kyoto and patted her head. "You put your fear aside and fought for your friend. You did a good job"

Kyoto looked downwards as he patted her head, she smiled shyly and tried to look at his face. Her smile disappeared, even though he spoke do calmly, his eyes tells her something different. It looked dead, like he lost a part of him, deep down she knew he was pained, not only be Shino death but also something else.

"It’s my fault for not being here earlier, so I’ll take the blame. It’s my job. You should check on your friend and take her to the hospital"

The leader walked back to the corpse and carried it on his arms. "Tell her parents she was brave, we’ll send them the location of where she’s buried"

Kelvin and Rita followed him as he walked away.

"What’s your name?" Kyoto asked. "I want to know your name"

The leader stopped. "Yaze. Yaze Hitonomi. You should check on your friend, I advise you take her to an hospital first to heal her wound properly"

Kyoto bows her head. "Thank you" Tears dripped from her eyes. "I’m really glad you came..."

She raised her head to see his reaction but didn’t find anyone. Yaze was gone.

# KYOTO’S FLASHBACK ENDS

"That’s why when I heard one of his students save my little brother, I wanted to thank you myself" Kyoto said to Kakashi with tears flowing down her cheeks. "I was too scared to do anything back then, but after I saw Yaze putting his life at risk for someone he doesn’t even know. I wanted to be like that, that why I quit school, but... In the end I couldn’t. When I was appointed to be the flame sage, I couldn’t, I was too scared, so I pushed my responsibilities to him... I-I’m so sorry... it’s... It’s all my fault"

Kyoto broke down in tears. Kakashi could still remember what Leo said to him.

_"It’s not like anyone is forcing them to take the position. They can reject it if they want but they accepted anyways.We are all here for a reason... It’s either we need the money or doing it for someone else or just homeless, I’m sure you’re here for a reason too"_

"It not your fault" Kakashi consoled and patted her head. "You didn’t push your brother to be a sage, he chose to be a sage on his own. Have you ever asked yourself why?"

Kyoto wiped her tears. For some reason, Kakashi patting her head almost made her feel the same way she felt with Yaze.

"It because he admire you, he sees you as a role model. He might have awakened his technique at a young age but you were still better than him, and I believe that why he choose to be a sage. To be able to surpass you"

"You really think so?" Kyoto asked, her eyes still teary.

"I do. Well, that’s until he wakes up and tell you himself"

Kyoto giggled. "You know, I wasn’t able to thank Yaze probably, so when I heard his student saved my brother, I thought I should at least thank you for what you did"

"You really don’t need to" Kakashi was tempted to pat her head again, her head just felt so good.

"So!, I’ve decided to dedicate myself to you!" Kyoto suddenly said. Her sudden movement made Kakashi stop patting her fearing she might be against it.

"What!?"

"Yes, for this day onward. If you need me, anytime, anywhere, I’ll be there to help you. I’ll try my best to be there when you need, until my brother is able to thank you himself" Kyoto pledged, her eyes filled with determination.

Kakashi wondered if she was really older than him, because all he see in front of him was a kid. It made him think of his sister, strong, bold and childish, he also thought about Hinata.

_i just hope she isn’t overworking herself_

"Okay, time to get going!" Kyoto said and waved at him before running down the hallway.
