Chapter 64: Chapter 32: Secretly Implement a Crafty Plan to Slay Xuan Guang (Part 2)

After finishing his questioning, Luo Xiao struck Du You unconscious with a palm strike, then turned to glance at Zhang Yan, as though seeking his opinion.

"It seems this boy is cowardly and lacks resolve. He can be used by us." Witnessing Du You’s pitiful display, Zhang Yan felt their chances of success increase. Narrowing his eyes, he said, "Very well, let us see how long Du Bo can endure."

Two days later.

Du Bo took out the last bottle of elixir pills from his sleeve and swallowed them all. The faintly dim blue glow on his body surged slightly. Four days without sleep or rest, yet the Shell King continued to ram about, seemingly inexhaustible in its Qi Power.

Du Bo dared not relax even a fraction. Should the Shell King break free, it would disturb Du You’s refining of the Xuanzhu. Falling into the demon realm was a minor concern; the real fear was losing his life.

Now, it was solely Du Bo grappling with the Shell King. Though the ten Powerful Warriors could take turns resting, none could persevere as he did. Their footing was unsteady, and their faces pallid with weariness.

The two Ming Qi Stage disciples, aided by elixirs, were in slightly better shape, but even they looked unable to last much longer.

Originally, he estimated that Du You would take only three days to absorb the Xuanzhu. But now, it was already the fourth day, and there was still no sign of success. This left Du Bo with a growing sense of unease.

As the Human Hour of this day arrived, he could no longer hold back and called out loudly, "Nephew, are you well?"

Not long after, a voice from within responded, sounding almost like mourning, "Uncle Bo, I feel a burning heat on both cheeks, and my legs have gone numb and immobile. I don’t know why this is happening!"

Hearing Du You speak, Du Bo let out a small breath of relief, then frowned and said, "From what you describe, it must be the excessive potency of the Xuanzhu’s medicinal power. This has caused your Qi Mechanism to stagnate, Void Qi to block water, and Heart Fire to surge upward. Recite the Du Family’s ’Qi Lowering Method,’ and it will be resolved. Strange, didn’t your mother tell you about this?"

After a moment, Du You’s voice returned. "Mother did mention it, but I didn’t take it to heart back then. I only remember it vaguely and am unsure if it’s correct..." He then began to loudly recite the spell, but halfway through, he faltered, as if he could no longer recall the words.

Du Bo was silent for a moment before speaking in a low tone, "Nephew, do not worry. Uncle Bo will now teach you another technique, a Secret Technique passed down by your father. Make sure not to mishear even a single word!"

He then recited the originally confidential mental method word by word.

The two Ming Qi Stage disciples standing nearby suddenly reacted. One of them seemed to realize something, his face turning pale. Then, as if gripped by madness, he abandoned restraining the Shell King and bolted frantically toward the cave exit.

But the man had barely taken two steps before a streak of blue Xuan Guang shot toward his back. It pierced straight through his chest, taking his life instantly.

The remaining people displayed a mix of emotions. Some were confused, some suspicious, and some utterly terrified. Yet, all of them exhibited some inner turmoil.

Du Bo sighed inwardly, "Initially, I thought to spare you all and decide your fates later after meeting with my nephew. But now... so be it. Killing one is killing, killing ten is also killing. Better to eliminate all of you!"

His gaze turned cold. The blue Xuan Guang around him abruptly contracted and then expanded. The surrounding people felt their breath halt as though something struck their heads. Amid horrifying screams, their skulls shattered, and they dropped dead to the ground.

The two struggling Shell Kings felt the pressure abruptly vanish and were about to surge upward, but the blue Xuan Guang circled back, pinning them down tightly once more.

Du Bo heaved and panted heavily; it was evident that this effort had drained him immensely. Without the assistance of the others, suppressing the Shell Kings became increasingly difficult for him. If this continued, it might harm his foundation. Unable to hold back, he called out again, "Nephew, have you fully memorized the spell I just mentioned?"

But Du You remained silent.

"Nephew?" Du Bo asked again.

After a long pause, just as his frustration began to rise, Du You finally replied, "Uncle Bo, there is still a portion of the medicinal power within me that I haven’t yet refined..."

Du Bo suppressed the taste of blood rising in his throat, thought for a moment, and said hoarsely, "One more day, no longer!"

"One day is too short, Uncle Bo. Be at ease and wait patiently. At most, I will need two more days!"

Hearing that Du You was even negotiating terms, leaving no room for discussion, nearly caused Du Bo to spit out blood. He could only smile bitterly. It seemed he would require two or three years of elixir-based treatment to restore his Primordial Qi after this ordeal.

Inside the cave mansion, upon hearing the screams outside and confirming that Du Bo had indeed killed those people, Luo Xiao said incredulously, "Did he really do it?"

Zhang Yan, however, appeared entirely unsurprised. With a sweep of his robe sleeves, he said, "It was bound to happen!"

The secret mental methods are the foundation of a family’s prosperity. Zhang Yan knew this, the Powerful Warriors and Ming Qi Stage disciples knew it, and the belief that "spells should not pass beyond six ears" was fundamental. He had deliberately allowed Du You to repeat the method so that these people would hear it.

The most critical point was that even if these people wanted to avoid this situation, they had no choice.

Because Du Bo would not allow it!

Du You’s initial purpose in coming here was to use the Shell King’s True Dew to open his veins. The Xuanzhu was merely a fortuitous bonus. Strictly speaking, the Xuanzhu belonged to the Mingcang Sect Leader. Their actions here were born of selfish greed, a silent theft. Afterward, they would undoubtedly cover their tracks to prevent the truth from leaking. Hence, everyone they had brought along was already marked for elimination. How could Du Bo possibly let these people leave his side alive?

Should they harbor ill thoughts and leak this to other Mingcang Sect disciples, what then?

Zhang Yan concluded, "All I did was leverage the situation, forcing Du Bo to execute the deed he had yet to carry out."

Though he spoke lightly, Zhang Yan had indeed maneuvered Du Bo into killing those people without lifting a finger himself.

Luo Xiao, both shocked and admiring, felt her trust in Zhang Yan deepen unconsciously. She couldn’t help but ask, "Fellow Daoist, when will you act?"

Zhang Yan’s gaze flickered, and he smiled faintly. "There’s no rush. Let’s grind him down a little more."

Over the next three days, every time Du Bo called out to Du You, there was always some excuse or another.

Finally, Du Bo realized something was amiss.
