Chapter 213: Chapter 213 : Eternally Yours (3)

A shichen later, the groom was ushered out of the banquet hall by a group of single alphas.

"Zhang Fengxi, ah, you better perform well," Zhou Guiying told Zhang Fengxi with a mischievous wink. "Or do you need a last-minute lesson from me?"

Zhang Fengxi glared at the second prince of Qingyuan Palace.

"I am going to teach you a ninety-minute lesson if you don’t shut up now."

The group broke into roaring laughter.

"Honestly, Cousin, you married the Crown Prince. Show some dignity, do not embarrass the Longjing Palace," Zhang Fenghan said with his folded fan spread before his lower face. One could see a hint of distaste in his eyes.

Before Zhang Fengxi came up with a reply, they arrived in front of the bridal chamber.

Trepidation spread on Zhang Fengxi’s face. He barely had the time to swallow his nervosity before the door was pushed open and he was shoved inside.

"Enjoy the first night!" Zhou Guiying hollered.

"Be kind to the Crown Prince or else," Wu Shenxia said.

"Remember to sleep," Zhang Fenghan quipped.

Laughing among themselves, the group of single alphas left after closing the door behind Zhang Fengxi.

Having drunk a lot during the banquet, Zhang Fengxi was unable to walk in a straight line. As soon as he staggered to his feet, he bumped his shin into a tea table.

The tea table clattered violently along with the immaculate porcelain tea set and the two tiny vases on top of it.

A worried voice rang out from the bed’s direction.

"Zhang Fengxi, are you alright?"

Zhang Fengxi sobered up right away.

"I am fine! Perfect! Marvelous!"

"..."

Zhang Fengxi rubbed the aching spot between his eyes.

"I... Jianyu, give me some time to breathe."

"... Sure."

Zhang Fengxi had exactly two minutes of alone time as he stood at the entrance of the bridal chamber, separated from his wife by the thin folding screen. He spent the two minutes breathing in and out to steady his nerves.

Xie Jianyu waited patiently on the bed with a pounding heart.

Zhang Fengxi must be as nervous as he was, he thought graciously.

He had ample time to rest and prepare himself for the wedding night, while Zhang Fengxi had to greet and cater to all guests.

He must be exhausted...

Xie Jianyu flinched when the end of a golden baton appeared under his veil and slowly lifted it up.

Xie Jianyu’s eyes followed the baton until the veil came undone.

Time seemed to stop when the bride and groom finally saw each other again.

"Gods in heaven," Zhang Fengxi whispered. "Jianbao, have you become more beautiful in only a few days?"

This was the second time Zhang Fengxi got to see Xie Jianyu in wedding attire.

He wore less white powder on his face and less rouge on his cheeks.

And yet, the omega appeared more enchanting than the last time Zhang Fengxi saw him.

He shone brighter than the shiniest gemstones that adorned his crown.

His lips were luscious and full of blood.

Even his eyelashes seemed to be longer and thicker.

Xie Jianyu practically glowed from within.

His bride. The most beautiful omega in three realms.

Zhang Fengxi pulled Xie Jianyu into his arms and rubbed his chin against the top of his bride’s elaborate hairstyle.

"Jianbao. My Jianbao. Finally."

Xie Jianyu gingerly wrapped his arms around Zhang Fengxi’s warm body.

"Mm. Did you drink a lot?"

"Just a little."

By "a little" he meant around three bottles of wine all by himself, but he did not need to tell Xie Jianyu that.

"I love you so much, Jianbao."

Zhang Fengxi rained tiny kisses on Xie Jianyu’s face.

Xie Jianyu enjoyed the shower of kisses for a while before he grabbed his husband’s face and made him look in his direction.

"I love you too, Zhang Fengxi. Don’t fool around yet, we still have many things to do."

Zhang Fengxi furrowed his brows at the omega.

"Huh? What? The ceremony is over."

Xie Jianyu gave him a judgmental stare.

"As a newlywed couple on the first night, we still need to adhere to the wedding custom."

Xie Jianyu pulled Zhang Fengxi toward the round dining table at the center of the bridal chamber. It was decked with select dishes that were meant to promote the bride’s fertility and the groom’s endurance in bed.

A plate of stir-fried tiger prawns in rice wine.

A big bowl of delectable lotus seed soup, complete with goji berries and red ginseng. When Xie Jianyu removed the lid, the fragrant smell wafted into the air immediately.

A plate of braised sea cucumber in sweet soy sauce, sitting proudly on a bed of roasted nuts and seeds.

A basket of ripe pomegranates.

And so on.

If that was not obvious enough, the diligent maids at Longjing Palace made cutouts of small boys and girls and scattered them all over the room.

Zhang Fengxi’s head started to throb painfully. All the dishes and cutouts were practically screaming at the couple to quickly perform their marital duties.

Xie Jianyu did not seem to be affected by the unsubtle gestures at all. He used a pair of chopsticks to lift a prawn to Zhang Fengxi’s lips.

"Eat. You must be hungry."

Zhang Fengxi took the prawn and chewed it with gratitude.

He then picked a crab leg, shelled it, and then fed it to Xie Jianyu.

The couple ate in awkward silence.

Once the traditional meal together was over, they both prepared for bed.

"Can you help me with my hair?"

Xie Jianyu turned his back to Zhang Fengxi.

"Sure."

Zhang Fengxi removed the golden hair crown and loosened the intricate braids that Xie Jianshen worked on for hours. Xie Jianyu’s hair cascaded down his shoulders like a river of dark ink.

Zhang Fengxi pushed the curtain of jetblack hair aside to reveal Xie Jianyu’s fair and slender neck. To his delight, Xie Jianyu was still wearing the crystal choker.

"My Jianbao..."

The crystal choker snapped open and fell on top of the bed.

Soon, Xie Jianyu’s wedding robe was stripped off his body and thrown on top of the choker.
