The two princes broke the kiss immediately.

What followed was a crisp slap across Zhang Fengxi’s cheek, accompanied by Xie Jianyu’s scandalized cry.

Unprepared for the sudden attack, Zhang Fengxi staggered to the side. He almost fell to the ground.

"I am sorry," he said. "I don’t know what happened. I only meant to give you a peck on the lips."

Xie Jianyu fumed.

"You did more than that!"

The Ghost Mistress of Ceremony cleared her throat and fanned her face.

"The ghost brides have successfully crossed over to the Underworld," Zhang Fengxi quickly changed the topic. "We should check whether the fields are suitable for planting now."

"The original farm owners have moved to a neighboring town, Young Master. I have their contact address. Let me talk to them," Ah Yan’s mother volunteered.

"That is good. By the way, Xie Jianyu and I have to go back home for now," Zhang Fengxi announced cheerfully. He then spoke to Ah Yan’s mother," Big Sister, we will come back a few weeks later to check the progress of the fields. Are you interested in taking care of the restaurant until then?"

"Lady Boss, we are ready to work!!!" the excited crowd shouted in unison.

Zhang Fengxi grinned at Ah Yan’s mother.

"Looks like you have enough help around. The kitchen is full of ingredients. I will leave everything behind. You have a lot to do from now on, Lady Boss."

Old Man Gao cackled.

"Alright, that’s the spirit!" he shouted. "Let’s rebuild the town together!"

"OOOOOOOOOHH!!!" the crowd cried out enthusiastically.

Once the wheel started turning, it was impossible to stop.

Their job was done for now.

The town inhabitants sent the two princes off with a lot of words of gratitude.

"Please come back soon," Ah Yan’s mother said. "The next time the two young masters come back here, this town will be back to its initial glorious state."

"We look forward to coming back," Xie Jianyu said with an acknowledging nod. "Everyone, please work hard."

As soon as the town border was out of sight, it was time to address the elephant in the room. Zhang Fengxi gathered his courage and turned to look at Xie Jianyu.

He had not even finished calling out for Xie Jianyu when the latter held his hand up to silence Zhang Fengxi.

"Don’t," Xie Jianyu spoke without looking at Zhang Fengxi. "Don’t tell me again that it was just a kiss. I don’t want to hear it from your mouth."

Zhang Fengxi stared at Xie Jianyu’s side profile. The omega did not sound like his usual self.

"I am sorry," Zhang Fengxi replied automatically. "I didn’t mean to hurt you."

Xie Jianyu scoffed.

"You did not."

The Crown Prince then summoned his heavenly steed and left without saying another word.
