Chapter 989: Chapter 783: Trial Run Day 1

After relentless efforts, Xu Yang, Park Yongchul, and other research team members had nearly completed the creation of the Qiongting System.

Though still a prototype, it was ready for online testing.

Xu Yang gave the AI integrated within it the codename "Venus."

During the eternal night, although the sun had yet to rise, seeing this star might make people anticipate the moment of sunrise a little more.

"The reconstruction of Xin City has been delayed for a long time. Now we activate the Qiongting System and see what impact it can have. If it can organize people to complete the construction of Xin City, North Silla, with its dormant potential, will also begin to prosper once again," said Xu Yang.

"Indeed, the people of Xin City and the entirety of North Silla are yearning for the Qiongting System to bring new changes, to rescue them from poverty and suffering," Park Yongchul exclaimed, filled with anticipation, as he himself had personally helped to develop the system.

"North Silla’s ability to break free from poverty depends entirely on this. We currently lack qualified officials and sufficient economic experts, so we have no other choice but to rely on the Qiongting System to fill the economic void," another technician lamented.

In Xin City’s central command center, Park Yongchul ceremoniously turned a key to unlock the Qiongting System’s password gate.

The announcement for the first test began.

Plan: Rebuild Xin City!

...

To achieve this, more than 20,000 construction workers were summoned and dispatched across various work sites in Xin City.

Massive transport planes roared overhead, dropping crates of building materials that hit the ground with resounding booms, sending snowflakes scattering.

They were seasoned workers, previously engaged in constructing buildings on other farms and factories. Now, the Qiongting System had identified and reassigned them to the Xin City reconstruction project.

In the capital, the construction workers were deeply impressed by the city. They each expressed admiration for the heart of this grand collective initiative before quickly diving back into work. Under the leadership of their assigned team leaders, they received materials and got started.

The team leaders were also system-selected, mostly individuals with substantial prior experience in skilled labor. They efficiently directed newcomers, issuing orders based on plans provided.

Last night, they had already received directives and were fully clear on today’s tasks. What to do, how to do it—the Qiongting System had it all mapped out, down to which worker should be at which site at what precise time.

Now it was the slightly warmer daylight hours, ideal for working. They needed to race against sunset and snowfall to complete building all the Heat Towers in Xin City.

Once the Heat Towers were operational, they would generate heat continuously from the capital and supply warmth through pipeline networks to nearby towns and villages.

If progress remained on track, it wouldn’t be long before millions would be basking in the heat radiating from Xin City, free from the torment of freezing cold.

"Let’s get started!"

"Start with clearing the rubble!"

"These resources are perfectly allocated, with loss accounted for. Don’t waste the hard work of our brothers and sisters. Hurry and get moving!"

"Construction workers are the strongest!"

Countless piles of concrete, steel, plastic, and wood were already delivered to the material stockyards.

Besides the laborers working on-site, information coordination staff carrying simple tablets ran back and forth collecting data. They were tasked with reporting project progress, checking inventory levels, and updating the Qiongting System’s data, allowing "Venus" to continually optimize and improve production plans.

"That’s it! Everything is outlined on the blueprints! The system has approved it!"

"I’ll rework some outdated sections and finish them before noon!"

"The Heat Tower technology is highly mature. We must ensure the elders and families don’t suffer in the cold anymore!" Engineers assigned to the project were focused and determined, utilizing their advanced expertise far beyond that of ordinary workers to improve the blueprints.

There were no additional complications—just follow the system’s instructions step by step! The Qiongting System was in charge.

One construction worker named Han Zhikui was digging trenches for the foundation, while a neighboring team poured concrete on another section. Workers farther away had begun assembling steel frames in preparation for installations.

Trucks delivered several panels, and at first, Han Zhikui wasn’t sure what they were. But soon, several projection drones provided by Nestor Corporation swooped down, emitting lasers from their ends to spray diagrams and concise data references onto the panels, making it easier for workers to follow the plans.

"Wow... treating us like fools!" Han Zhikui scoffed.

He had been in construction for 25 years—how could he mess up? But there were indeed plenty of newcomers in the team who still didn’t know how to read blueprints.

As Han Zhikui worked, he patiently answered their naïve questions, explaining that in civil engineering, blueprint literacy was a fundamental skill for construction workers.

The construction site was ablaze with activity.

The sounds of steel cutting, mechanical cranes operating, and vehicles moving were endless—background noise to which Han Zhikui was already accustomed.

He silently focused on the task at hand, verifying if his layout markings were precise and observing whether the newcomers could handle their tasks adequately.

Even the largest of buildings is built brick by brick, worker by worker.

The most delightful moment was lunchtime. Transport planes dove down like Giant Eagles, releasing massive cargo holds from their "claws."

Han Zhikui initially thought they were delivering new construction materials—only to discover they were lunchboxes!

Stacked neatly, resembling brick walls, they were a welcome sight.

Workers quickly scrambled to collect their meals. Han Zhikui received a large box of tofu, roasted chicken, and rice.

Tofu, chicken, and rice—all luxurious food items.

For most people in North Silla, rice was something to buy occasionally after earning money—eating rice was truly a luxury. Tofu and chicken were things one could only afford during festivals.
