Chapter 871: Chapter 709: The Wind of Gold

Ottovan’s impassioned speech carried a convincing power.

Although he was just a lawyer with a straightforward appearance and a benevolent face, his speech was exceptionally penetrating. He talked about the history of Zanges, inspiring a deep love for life, work, and family in people.

"Ottovan is indeed the best leader in the hearts of Black people right now," Tsuchigumo observed, "He is educated, this Ottovan... It’s rare for Black people to study as well as he does. Very rare."

"His speaking skills are quite excellent." Cyber Specter could discern the patterns in his voice, where the right accents and tones helped enhance persuasiveness.

"Black people view Ottovan as a role model, a talent among talents. Perhaps it is Ottovan who could lead the Black people of Zanges to a new future. With him here, there is still hope for the people," Tsuchigumo observed carefully.

Symbolizing wisdom, reason, and charisma, Ottovan continued his speeches, causing many Black people to tear up or fall into deep thought.

Cyber Specter observed the surroundings; men and women all cast their eyes towards Ottovan and his guards donned in Black Panther Armor.

The armor worn by the members of the Black Panther Society was stunningly beautiful and of perfect quality, obviously not a product of local Hot Tree Continent manufacturing—it had to be designed and produced by an intercontinental military enterprise. Cyber Specter continued his analysis.

Just a brief look at Tsuchigumo’s old car’s workmanship made it clear that the local standards were not sufficient to produce such exquisite combat Armor. Even with the technical blueprints, the industrial base was inadequate. Only renowned arms companies possessed the technology to make such advanced Armor.

"I hear your echo! I hear your resonance in my chest—I have become you, and you have become me!" Ottovan said excitedly, something having stirred him significantly.

Ottovan was talented in wisdom and scholarship; his guards, clad in Black Panther Armor, were nearly super-soldiers. Black people greatly admired this, and his reputation soared with every speech, attracting countless viewers.

After the speech which lasted for an hour, Ottovan was escorted from the venue by the Black Panther guards.

"Did Warlord Keith not interrupt his speech?" Cyber Specter asked Tsuchigumo as he was set down on the ground.

"It’s too crowded here; he wouldn’t dare do anything. He might be afraid of the people’s anger too. If the people of Zanges stopped working and the markets halted, causing displeasure to intercontinental capital, Keith would be finished. Keith is just the manager of this city," Tsuchigumo walked back.

Just passing one street, they saw Keith’s men guarding the street, wearing military green camo and directing everyone to detour; the crowd dispersing from the square was forced to take another route, chaotic.

"That street... It’s been requisitioned by Keith." Tsuchigumo saw some military vehicles passing through but couldn’t linger to observe them, as the crowd post-speech was too large and she needed to move quickly to avoid being stuck in the middle of the road, where she would have to rely on spider threads for mobility.

Cyber Specter cautiously tracked the cameras on the streets, observing the details.

"Hope we see something valuable," Cyber Specter and Tsuchigumo hid within the city.

Elsewhere, after finishing his speech, Ottovan entered an underground parking garage of a nearby hotel and switched to a black luxury car to leave.

A quite young and handsome Angel sat in the car, caressing the halo on his head, and Ottovan’s form became semi-transparent, easing the drive away.

"Have you heard about the incident at the Diamond Mine?" the Angel asked.

"People from Renwang Security Company clashed with those from Black Fire Innovation," Ottovan whispered.

"We meant to catch the Rebel Angel inside Renwang Security Company through Black Fire Innovation, but it went awry because among them was an unusual Witch who could control machines," the Angel drove onto the street, proceeding along the restricted road towards a corner of Zanges.

The afternoon sun was scorching, and the temperature inside the car soared, Ottovan sweat profusely, mopping himself with a towel frequently. The beautiful Angel with pale skin and golden hair remained dignified, not sweating a drop, precise like a robot.

"*sigh*..." Ottovan panted, "Renwang Security Company is strong, with two Dominator Witches and an Angel, plus three... other combatants?"

"It was supposed to work; we controlled the miners to signal them, having the Black Fire Innovation people in place early. But it went badly, exactly the ’other combatants’ you mentioned—one of them suddenly unleashed unprecedented power," the Angel shook his head.

"I’m so tired..." Ottovan spoke feebly.

The hot sun and standing for a long period had sapped his strength.

"You should accept implantation and modification, Mortal," the Angel mockingly said in an elegant tone.

"I’m afraid of pain," Ottovan said fearfully.

"The surgery won’t hurt; they will modify you, assembling you like building blocks, using drugs to block your mind, light as dreaming," the Angel spoke articulately.

"After that it will hurt. Steel in your muscles, rusting over time, bringing a host of diseases... Modified people only suffer unendurably after a decade or so," Ottovan stated apprehensively.

"Keith didn’t pull you from the execution to hear your complaints," the Angel drove the car to Keith’s villa.
