Chapter 788: Chapter 652 Secret Meeting
```
Amber pigment spread out on the plain paper, illustrating how Xu Yang disappeared in the Nineveh Marketplace in April, 1134.
"That’s all there is... the last scene," explained the painter.
Its fluffy hand moved away from the canvas, and around the glass round table, the neatly dressed attendees stared at the painting and then slowly nodded, among them were many phantoms attending remotely.
The reborn Idith looked different from the others at the round table, for it was an ancient being, much taller than all the humans present, dressed in a custom-made suit of golden armor.
The armor was ceremonial, with no actual defensive function. For Idith, relying on its own Immortal Emperor’s Power was far preferable to depending on armor and weapons.
Its chair was also inlaid with gold and jade, its design far more ornate than those of the others. They all respected it greatly, knowing it was not easy to invite the last emperor of the old ones, so they deliberately maintained a distance from Idith in their seating arrangement.
"So, this is the reason ’The All-Seeing Eye’ has detected a disturbance in the river of time - the Ancient Witch has released a witch into her mind, and then jumped into the river of memories," a man with silver-gray hair expressed with curiosity.
Idith’s gaze shifted to the man who spoke, whose name was Rubazio, the president of Shimizu Technology Company, and also the organizer of the entire meeting, a top representative of the Seven Seals Organization.
Rubazio left a deep impression on Idith, for he had successfully persuaded it to sit at the round table on equal terms by invoking "business rules," rather than finding a throne for itself.
"Yes, she put that man... Xu Yang into her memories," said the fluffy painter.
This painter was the "Forest Master." Idith saw beneath the other’s green hood a deer head and a thick-furred body, which had transformed into a human form.
Idith showed a faint smile to the Forest Master, who had served the dynasty of Idith loyally and was a fine steward.
The Forest Master remained as motionless as if in frozen silence beside Idith.
"Xu Yang?" Rubazio said, his interest piqued,
"We’re certain there was a network engineer who disappeared a few years ago with that name..." Pan Ruiyi, a representative from Kyushu High Pavilion, mused. Pan Ruiyi was a director of the group, thoughtful and highly competent.
"The mysteries of Nestor Corporation, eh? It’s time to revive the corporate investigation to take back your Pan Ruiyi. A Dominator is of great value," Rubazio mentioned, his interest clearly peaked.
"We do indeed intend to do so," Pan Ruiyi said maturely.
Beside him, a Jade Automaton was constantly recording the meeting’s minutes, synchronizing them to Lu Sizhou miles away.
Idith folded its hands and observed every detail around it. It could hear all the conspiracies, see the intricate attire they wore, and smell the scents of fine perfume and genuine leather.
Their words were laced with plans and traps. They never spoke too clearly, which Idith did not favor much; its race had invented strategy and politics, and what humans did was merely a poor imitation. But it now had the time to enjoy the performance.
"Anyway, thank you for your cooperation, sir," Rubazio said, nodding with a smile to the Forest Master.
They didn’t even ask why the Forest Master had come, because they all knew very well. Idith thought to itself. It’s afraid of being served at the table. Farosa consumed the remains of its loved one, there was no reason not to make venison stew out of the Forest Master, digesting its precious ability to control nature.
The Forest Master sat still in its original position.
"The Seven Seals will generously fund our partners, to help all of you through these hard times," Rubazio announced their largest-scale business plan.
The economic crisis presented an opportunity, creating conditions for a market clear-out, where all substandard assets and inefficient business models were discarded, leaving only the most essential and resilient enterprises.
What Rubazio had convened, apart from key companies supported by the Seven Seals, included many neutral and swayable large corporations and conglomerates, in hopes that they would join the Seven Seals’ business plans.
"We plan to restart some projects on Hot Tree Continent, to access the natural resources of the hinterlands of Hot Tree Continent, and also to recruit and control those warlords," Jose Alonso, the Chief Executive Officer of Black Fire Innovation, put forth his idea.
After he finished speaking, his gaze swiftly scanned the other end of the round table, where Honma Noriko, whose data-based mind was housed in a mechanoid body, stood with her guardian, Yanagawa Fumihiko, behind her.
The challenge posed by Black Fire Innovation to Xisheng resulted in the fall of Xisheng, ending in a pyrrhic victory with the rise of Nestor Corporation. Jose Alonso had been one step away from being expelled by the board of directors, and now, he could only change his strategy.
The dream of a New World was unachievable at this point; now he had to cling to the support of Seven Seals, returning under the control of Honma Noriko, showing his loyalty.
Rubazio swept a glance at Honma Noriko, who quickly nodded.
"We believe that Black Fire Innovation’s vast armies, warships, and weapons are the best solution to cleansing the chaos of Hot Tree Continent," Rubazio agreed immediately after seeing Honma Noriko’s non-objection.
"You found the black flame, we developed it, just didn’t have enough time to use it to burn all the witches," Idith turned to Jose Alonso.
```
"We will burn all witches who refuse to submit by throwing them into The Great Abyss," said Jose, looking at the representatives seated around the table.
"Yes, humans. In this way, they cannot be reborn and can only become a part of pure Blackfire," Idith said with pleasure, eager to regain the power of Blackfire.
"Is it really that effective?" Joe Cardo, the chairman of Iris Group, asked curiously.
The central holoprojector of the roundtable displayed the scenario of Blackfire processing humans and witches, with black flames turning humans into plasmatic monsters and witches into humanoid forms of Blackfire, making them soulless, bound husks.
"Witches are our enemies, as well as yours," Idith leaned back, recalling how it had executed three of the queens with black flames during the Era of the Five Queens. Even Farosa would wail and devastate once Blackfire took hold of her.
Seven Seals was a quite favorable organization, knowing how to deal with witches, how to handle relationships with the eternal enemy, and how to monitor and control humans.
After the Corporate Alliance had sealed Idith, Seven Seals had captured seven of the Ancients to construct seven towers; aside from this sole contradiction, Idith temporarily found no reason to oppose them.
And Farosa had already crossed that line, a village girl from Aquilia proclaiming herself a deity, nothing could be more absurd than that.
"We feel honored by the great emperor of the Vitalians, who is willing to share his wisdom," Rubazio said, nodding humbly to Idith.
The people of Seven Seals knew their race as Vitalians. Idith felt satisfied. Only those half-informed about the secret history called Idith’s civilization "Ancients."
It now genuinely felt like a monarch of a high civilization guiding these influential figures of lesser cultures.
"Come on, come on, Nestor Corporation has crossed the line. They have nurtured a transgressive witch, affecting the systemic safety of the entire world. There is no other way but to mete out punishment," Rubazio’s gaze swept across the other attendees.
"Yes..."
"It’s our only option."
"Ancient Witch..."
Those who understood Farosa’s character and power naturally dreaded the vile devastation she could bring upon the world; others coveted the funds, technology, and business connections that Seven Seals Organization could offer.
"Once we defeat Nestor Corporation, we will lock down the world for 24 months, perform a comprehensive memory wipe on approximately two billion people, and then handle the rest with a correct historical education plan and new propaganda campaign. Then we will learn from this lesson, and, as ordered by Emperor Idith, we will burn all witches with Blackfire," Rubazio explained.
"It couldn’t be better."
"This is the best outcome for everyone."
"...We will carry out our actions exhaustively," the people around the round table stated their positions.
The overall situation was settled, and there was no better solution than to entirely remove Nestor Corporation and the Ancient Witch from history.
"You’ve mentioned a solution, but you haven’t told us how to do it," the representative from Kyushu High Pavilion, Pei Shu, said.
"Let me introduce Adam Graham to everyone, the representative of the ’Golden Fleece’ project from Lighthouse Core. He is an astronaut, engineer, and space scientist with four doctoral degrees. He is a purebred human, the cream of the Paradise Euthenics Project, with all the ’inferior traits’ of the human race surgically removed," Rubazio switched to the presentation page.
A vivid projection of Adam descended among the people through drones.
Even Idith would sincerely admit that Adam was indeed a "high-quality" human; exceptionally handsome, standing 1.85 meters tall, with a strong and perfectly proportioned body, golden short hair, a prominent nose, and cerulean eyes - an image worthy of being printed on billboards to promote the human race to alien civilizations.
Now this person was vividly projected among them, representing the prime humans created by the Lighthouse Core.
"Truly handsome."
"Incredible technology..."
"Lighthouse Core is already capable of this?" The business elites present murmured in astonishment, considering how to learn from him and the market outlook for such a project.
"Hi, everyone. I am Adam Graham, head of the ’Golden Fleece’ project of Lighthouse Core, currently in Rocket City. We have designed an Orbital Weapon Platform and a giant space station to go with it, attempting to operate it in orbit," his voice was very pleasant.
He showed just a fraction of the planned work, and while people could only see the scale of the machines and facilities, they realized the grand ambitions of Lighthouse Core.
"It can accommodate the lives of thousands, obliterate asteroids several kilometers in diameter, and is the best platform for protecting our space security," Adam said with a friendly and cordial tone.
"And it can effectively resolve two significant threats. One is the lurking Ancient Witch, and the other is the Frost Giant God that generates extreme cold weather. We all know how much cold weather suppresses business activities," Rubazio announced.
