Chapter 780: Chapter 647: Survivors_2

The explosions were continuous. Their figures shattered into pieces in the blink of an eye during the exchange of blades, large chunks of their bodies destroyed, and where the sharp blades passed, none survived!

The chopped ice crystals were gone with the wind in an instant, forming a vortex storm!

"Ahh..."

"Ehh—" At the very edge, a Frost Giant turned its head, suddenly seeing a companion in the center being slashed to shreds, and was struck with immense horror.

Giant storms of spinning Magic Blades fell from the sky. Farosa was merely swinging her sword casually, yet she sliced the ground into a complete mess. The surrounding mountains shook continuously, causing avalanches one after another.

By the time she landed in the valley, the entire land had been scarred with hundreds of intersecting slashes.

"Waaah—" Although the remaining Frost Giants weren’t highly intelligent, they instinctively chose to evade the immense risk, bowing their heads to flee, being hunted by the Nestor troops in ambush at the perimeter.

Boom boom— Boom boom—

After several rounds of artillery fire from the troops staying outside, the remaining Frost Giants and monsters were also broken.

"Annihilation complete!"

"Look!"

"Did they all run out?"

"This is terrifying!"

"That’s because there’s an even more terrifying presence in the valley... best not to disturb the Witch’s work, retreat 30 li for everyone!" An officer looked towards the distant Frozen Valley with a sense of unease and tension.

Although it was their own side’s highest-end combat force, this display was also too frightening.

At his command, tanks, drones, and armored units all moved back to avoid being affected.

Farosa had slaughtered the Frost Remnant Army in the valley and at the same time sensed a new presence.

She looked up at an ancient gate in the ruins, previously closed, but now open, with a tall woman standing in the center.

She was clad in pitch-black armor, her skin pale. Her appearance was similar to humans, only differing slightly in the details of her nose and ears. Moreover, her face and body proportions were different from humans, with longer arms and legs.

Ancients!

Suddenly, Farosa’s interest was greatly piqued.

Wasn’t it like that Ancient suppressed beneath the Nestor Headquarters?

One male, one female—Catch them and breed them, wouldn’t that give a continuous supply of Ancient materials to utilize?

Farosa quickly leaped upwards toward the higher ground.

The female Ancient took out a Black Bow from behind, not yielding an inch, and shot rapidly at Farosa.

In that arrow, Farosa read many pieces of information.

The material of that bow was extraordinary, covered in ancient engravings. Farosa’s enchanting techniques were all inherited from ancient Ancient lore, which led to the creation of Engraved Bullets, Star-Chasing Spears, Short Spears, and other magic weapons.

As for the weapons used by the Ancients themselves, they used the most orthodox enchanting methods, immensely powerful. Not only was the bow itself reinforced, but the arrows were also exquisitely exceptional.

I can take it on and see, Farosa judged.

Farosa didn’t dodge, taking the arrow.

Seeing her hit, the female Ancient raised her eyebrows, full of confidence in her combat skills.

The arrow struck Farosa’s divine body, causing her intense pain instantly. As expected, it was very powerful.

Farosa pulled out the heavy arrow and restored her body’s condition with a raise of her hand.

Not strong enough. She realized she wouldn’t be killed, with much room to spare, and continued to approach the female Ancient swiftly.

"You can also resurrect? The ability of Idith?" The female Ancient drew her bow and yelled at Farosa using a Secret Script.

Mistaking her own Law of Recovery for Idith’s resurrection technique, Farosa thought silently.

The other party must know Idith.

These Ancients were in collusion, better to kill her first, then bring her back for a slow interrogation.

She unleashed the Law of Slaughter going forward, the annihilating force whistling ahead, quickly covering hundreds of meters, heading straight for the gate.

The Ancient Witch saw the overwhelming power of slaughter approaching and immediately summoned the Frost Core, creating a gigantic barrier in front of her that barely withstood the Magic Power!

Farosa’s current power was not so easily blocked, and in an instant, the Frost Core in the hands of the Ancient Witch quickly faded and shattered.

She was shocked and turned to dive deep into the mountain path, disappearing inside the dark relic, managing to avoid the aftermath of the Law of Slaughter with all her might.

How peculiar, Farosa thought to herself. It’s the same type of Frost Core that was used to control the Corpse Dragon.

It’s the power of the Frost Giant God, Elride, and therefore not to be underestimated.

What is the connection between this sole surviving Old One and Elride? And what happened between her and Idith?

Farosa believed that there must be a deeper historical connection hidden within the long ages, containing many secret histories. She did not tarry but went straight in pursuit.

She had thought the structure inside would be as simple as an ancient tomb or prison cell, but upon entering, after passing through a narrow corridor, Farosa immediately saw a vast underground city.

Farosa’s expression changed continuously, her interest growing ever higher.

This ancient city clearly belonged to the Old Ones’ civilization and was probably the "Dongsheng Country" recorded in ancient texts.

The city streets were too wide, and the positions of house entrances and windows were not suited for human stature. There were water wheels everywhere, sewage ditches, and water conduits, heavily reliant on the flow of groundwater, but now all the liquids had frozen solid.

This civilization seemed to favor rational order and mathematical logic, with city blocks following uniform planning, like a chess board, with streets straight as a grid, and clear layers from top to bottom.

They had even meticulously carved the mountaintop and rock walls, and although Farosa had seen human cities and Rat Villages built underground, none of them had cut their rock walls and domes so flat. The entire city seemed exquisitely encased within a cube.

The Old Ones must have been quite adept at enduring a monotonous life, void of any amusement. Farosa saw none of the usual gardens, theaters, or amusement parks found in human cities. Instead, there were more workshops, artisan streets, schools, museums, and libraries.

Thousands of buildings had neatly uniform square or circular roofs, with spiral staircases embedded around several underground towers, which seemed to be barracks or guard towers.

A city of order, Farosa could imagine the orderly lives that the Old Ones led within this city, where work and rest were precisely allocated throughout the day, with no other diversions.

Perhaps they died of boredom, buried deep underground. Farosa mused to herself.

With no living people, it seemed probable that the Ancient Witch was the last survivor. Farosa needed to capture her and bring her back for thorough research.

"Everyone, come in," Farosa communicated to the nearest Nestor unit.

"Ah ah..."

"The Ancient Witch is letting us in,"

"Let’s try," the soldiers nervously accepted the dispatch and began to approach the city, investigating the environment and collecting necessary resources.

Farosa flew through the limited subterranean space, searching for the last whereabouts of the Ancient Witch.

This place was buried with valuable materials and weaponry. Farosa noticed rare minerals and black weapons, all materials and armaments used by the Old Ones’ civilization.

If all the resources of the entire Underground City could be reclaimed, Farosa might be able to upgrade her witches’ equipment by a notch.

If ordinary Battle Witches were all equipped with those powerful black weapons, they would be more confident against other corporations’ forces.

More importantly, the technology and knowledge of the Old Ones excited Farosa.

If she could inherit all the secrets of this ancient civilization, not only would Nestor Corporation make great strides, but Farosa also could create more advanced magical equipment and props. The Old Ones had a profound legacy, possibly a high-level civilization that had reached for the stars.

Immediately after, Farosa sensed murderous intent.

She discerned the subtlest information from the minor changes in the environment, and as she looked up sharply, she saw the resentful Ancient Witch glaring at her and the humans entering in an orderly fashion.

The Ancient Witch had hit Farosa once and was confident she could hit her again.

Now, the Ancient Witch forcefully pulled back her Black Bow, nocking her most potent Magic Power arrow, wrapped with a thick frost aura.

Whiz!

The long arrow shot fiercely towards Farosa!

Farosa quickly raised her Rainbow Cloak to block it, and the arching arrow struck the cloak before veering off, plunging into the depths of a distant chasm, echoing as it fell.

Farosa lowered her cloak, fixing a cruel gaze on the Ancient Witch.

Seeing her shot miss, the Ancient Witch looked pained and frustrated. She swiftly turned and fled, entering the far more distant Momentum Palace on the other side of the city.

Run, run, flee as you please, Farosa murmured.

You are facing the Witch Goddess Farosa! Where can you possibly escape to?
