Chapter 778: Chapter 646: Picking Up Memories
```
It was still cold.
The wind and natural scents were a bit too basic for Farosa; she needed something that more fittingly reflected her status.
She had Mizuiro Yoshioka prepare a new mode of transport for her. Mizuiro Yoshioka took Farosa’s orders very seriously, quickly arranging an expensive Shuttle Machine that autonomously cruised to the private landing pad at Nestor Headquarters.
This luxurious Shuttle Machine boasted a champagne-colored paint job, an exterior design that blended opulence with modernity, like a fascinating apparition in a blizzard, easily distinguishable from ordinary shuttlecraft.
The on-board constant temperature system and dynamic Shield were fully activated, creating rings of Phantom Light that seemed to craft a Sanctuary specifically for Farosa.
By the Shuttle Machine, Mizuiro Yoshioka, clad in ink-black Witch Armor, stood on duty, her look sharp and devoid of any superfluity.
"This is the kind of transport that befits me. Where did it come from?" Farosa’s gaze lingered on the Shuttle Machine as she slowly nodded her head.
"Kyoto Car Manufacturing, ’Pride’ series luxury shuttlecraft, vehicle number 001. A gift from Tenjouin Shino," Mizuiro Yoshioka explained.
"These corporate people are indeed better at these... business symbols, knowing how to satisfy picky appetites." Farosa said contentedly; such a mode of transport would inspire envy wherever it went. Compared to this, the designers and engineers from Nestor Corporation couldn’t match such perfection, and they would need more time to accumulate experience.
"Can’t you fly?" Little Fool asked, tugging at Farosa’s hand.
Farosa frowned.
"For Lady Farosa to be so exposed and observable, what would that befit?" Mizuiro Yoshioka reprimanded Little Fool.
"Keep up the good work... Yoshioka, you have a bright future ahead." Farosa nodded.
Mizuiro Yoshioka had now become a High-Ranking Witch, the executive chairwoman of the New Witch Council, in effect the overseer of all witches needing to conduct assessments and manage affairs, a busy figure of authority with a taste for the finer things in life.
"Quack." Little Fool sighed dismissively. Fallen! Mizuiro Yoshioka!
Farosa hurried Little Fool along; she stumbled towards the Shuttle Machine, whose side doors slid upwards like unfurling wings, silently and smoothly.
Little Fool fell in love with the interior at first sight, quickly scrambling inside; the Shuttle Machine was not only cool on the outside but nearly as luxurious as a hotel suite on the inside. Little Fool patted the blankets, squeezed the seats, and swiftly found her perfect spot, after which she beckoned the Wolf Girl and Snowball to climb on board.
The Wolf Girl walked forward, her head down, exuding a strong wild beast stench.
"She should be sent to the bath, not to my transport," Farosa said with a lighthearted chuckle.
Mizuiro Yoshioka led the Wolf Girl away.
"No—," Little Fool’s face pressed against the glass of the Shuttle Machine’s window, she let out a sad and disappointed cry.
"Woof!" Snowball ran over from the red carpet at the entrance of the Shuttle Machine and rolled at Little Fool’s feet, trying to divert her attention.
After Farosa got on board, the Shuttle Machine’s doors closed automatically, and the internal thermostat adjusted the temperature to 68°F. Little Fool put all her warm clothes into a box next to her; everything here was too convenient.
"Respected master, please name this machine," the Shuttle Machine’s intelligent assistant said in a cheerful voice.
"Millennium," Farosa said softly.
"Received. Please enjoy your journey."
The Millennium rose from the landing pad, heading towards Yibei City, continuing to investigate the ancient civilization information that Xu Yang and Little Fool had uncovered.
Little Fool sat in her spot, fiddling with her fingers.
Farosa is a bad person, a very bad person. Little Fool thought quietly to herself.
"You don’t like me?" Farosa turned to look at Little Fool.
With Farosa’s current Power, she could vaguely detect the thoughts of others, especially the thoughts and positions of witches.
Little Fool looked up blankly at Farosa.
Farosa was clearly a completely different person from her father; Farosa was very bad, expecting others to completely submit to her will. Her father, however, was accommodating, never forcing anyone to submit to him.
Yes, it was clear that Farosa was a very bad person, and she would never bow to her; she had to hold out until her father returned.
"Actually, you can continue to compare. My way of life is simpler, more direct, freer, and my thoughts are more liberating," Farosa said with ease.
"Quack?" Little Fool started in shock, unclear on why Farosa would speak like this, almost as if she had seen right through Little Fool’s thoughts.
"You could become like me; you could also become my reflection. All witches should become the reflections of the Witch Goddess. Come now, learn my ways, become my avatar..." Farosa gently guided.
Little Fool’s eyes were captivated by Farosa’s wickedly deep gaze; she unconsciously looked into Farosa’s eyes.
Irresistible...
Farosa had thought she had captured her soul, but Little Fool’s eyes began to glaze over, growing more vacant, and gradually, Farosa could read no thoughts from her at all.
Little Fool’s mouth slightly ajar, her gaze dispersed, her body limp, and motionless. It was as if her soul had been extracted from her body.
"You really are... the most boring child," Farosa said, losing interest.
She laid Little Fool on the floor and proceeded toward the mid-cabin on her own.
```
Little Fool slowly got up and dusted off her sleeves.
"This is my victory," Little Fool said faintly, standing beside the chair.
"Woof woof!" Snowball was very happy.
Before long, Lady Farosa returned from the atrium, holding a stack of printed papers for Little Fool.
"Woof!" Snowball looked up at these thick documents.
"Go gaze upon the silent knowledge, Little Fool. Memorize all the contents here before the shuttle machine arrives in Yibei City," Farosa said with an indifferent tone.
"Wow..." Little Fool flipped through the printouts, finding a dictionary of secret scripts with corresponding modern language.
If she could memorize these tens of thousands of words, she would comprehend over 2000 secret script terms, practically a crash course in the secret script.
"All fears stem from incomplete information," Farosa looked at Little Fool, "and all peace of mind comes from the growth of knowledge. That’s something I understood from a young age. You too should become a person of profound knowledge, Little Fool."
"What if I don’t memorize it? And my name is Xu Cheng," Little Fool resented being manipulated by Farosa.
"If you don’t, I’ll throw it out... throw it down from this flight altitude of 7500 meters," Farosa glanced sidelong at Snowball.
"Woof!" Snowball was startled.
Farosa went back to the atrium to watch entertainment programs, the sliding door tightly shutting behind her.
"I can’t finish memorizing the secret script..." Little Fool felt troubled.
Snowball quickly jumped beside Little Fool and extended a paw to help her turn the pages.
"I don’t know why you say that! You can do it!" Snowball said.
...
Farosa propped her cheek with her left hand.
With a Fragment of the Throne of God in her possession, and powerful enemies all around, her strength as a lesser deity was far from overlooking all challengers or altering the heavens and earth, and a great war could break out at any moment.
The Mystics were all of eternal life, and she was still inconsequential, just slightly better than the weakest among them. If the seats were to be reassigned, she would probably be just two ranks ahead of Mack Territory and surpass the Great River Goddess.
She found it difficult to deal with beings like Mond, Yan Duo, and the Forest Master. Especially the Forest Master, who was initially just a weakened beast chased to the Arctic to await death, was now regrowing, slowly regaining all its power, right there in the Northern Archipelago. Such a matter was truly fearsome... they must be completely eradicated and consumed. On Farosa’s tongue swirled illusions of the bitter meat of Orcian, and the savory flesh of the Great River Goddess.
She couldn’t calculate whether others would betray or hurt her, and others didn’t know if Farosa harbored murderous intent. Therefore, the best strategy was direct mutual slaughter, but one must also stay calm to avoid being taken advantage of by a third party. Farosa knew she had to strike first to gain the upper hand, like dealing with the Forest Master...
But then—sudden gentler thoughts emerged in Farosa. What if she talked to them? Reached an agreement, made alliances with her own friends, leaving her enemies isolated until they despaired. This would be Xu Yang’s approach, and also something that Little Fool, raised by him, would do.
Farosa pressed her head, as after becoming the Witch Goddess she could foresee countless developmental paths and branching outcomes. Most were not so great, especially for Farosa who had made too many enemies—had it not been for Xu Yang’s mediations, she would have been attacked on all sides. She had come this far with quite some support from the Transcendent Alliance and Nestor Corporation, shielding all of Farosa’s willful acts.
She needed to have a serious talk with Xu Yang, needed his embrace, even the supremely prideful Farosa had to admit this.
Yes—Xu Yang was the best.
The only one she could truly trust, Farosa and Xu Yang, she and he would become the world’s strongest power couple.
Farosa alone had many weaknesses, and Xu Yang alone managed but a bleak existence, the two most suitable and complementary people in the world... but he was always entangled with those strange women, which was a great shame.
At this time, the military units patrolling near the snow-capped mountains in front of Yibei City detected movements of gathering residual frost monsters. They were headed towards the bowels of the mountains, entering the boundless snow, seemingly consolidating their power.
"Have them all retreat; I’ll deal with it," Farosa messaged Lila.
"Be careful. The areas around Yibei City have already warmed up, but only that frozen valley remains at minus 60 degrees Celsius," Lila informed Farosa.
"Oh." Farosa, now in her divine body, was indifferent.
"When will the master return? You can’t hoard him, nor do things you’re not allowed to," Lila immediately sounded emotional.
Ah, Lila! The strangest of women. A pang of pain went through Farosa’s heart.
Among the difficult women around Xu Yang, it was Lila. She now had the entire support of Nestor Corporation behind her, and as a mechanical mind etched into a chip, she was immune to Farosa’s influence.
If Farosa eliminated Lila, Nestor Corporation would collapse, and with it, all of the funds, systems, soldiers, and materials that Farosa relied on would disappear. With so much at stake, Farosa had no designs against Lila.
"You shut your mouth," was all Farosa could say as she cut the communication with Lila.
Farosa slowly recalled passages revised by Xu Yang, and it seemed the situation was indeed changing; she could catch traces of these changes. Xu Yang had begun to appear in her newly revised memories.
She slowly smiled; although there were only some hazy fragments, Farosa had already experienced a brand-new childhood, running joyfully in the valley.
"He really did... rebuild some nice memories for me," Farosa thought back slowly. The content was rich, the details thorough, and the volume significant.
Especially her mother’s smile, Madam Medusa, seemed happier in the new environment.
Farosa breathed a sigh of relief. Her mother in the memories seemed so happy, appearing younger, prettier, and more vibrant. Xu Yang took such good care of his mother-in-law, she hadn’t misjudged him.
