Chapter 595: Chapter 506: Dragon Trainer Master

Princess Pelagia faced Xu Yang head-on, putting on an imposing stance. She spread her massive wings, emanating waves of dragon power, enough to send shivers down the spine of an ordinary person.

Fear of mystical creatures is an instinct that dwells deep in the genes of humans. However, Xu Yang had long surpassed the realm of ordinary people, having seen many scenes of greater magnificence, and thus he remained undisturbed.

"There must be a way," Xu Yang conjectured.

"Of course, there is," Princess Pelagia paced around Xu Yang before stopping, "but talking more is of no use, you must try to make contact with a true dragon yourself. Now, tell me, engineer, do you remember what Wei Shiyue’s horns looked like?"

"Slender, slightly parted to the sides, with petite curves, remarkably smooth," Xu Yang recalled Wei Shiyue’s dragon form, how she had incinerated fleets, "Moon-white in color, like a semi-transparent gem, growing brighter towards the ends."

"Very good, you’ve paid close attention," Princess Pelagia slightly tilted her enormous head towards Xu Yang, "Now look at mine."

"...Madam," Xu Yang had no choice but to cater to the ferocious and vast female red dragon, "you have a pair of spiral horns of astonishing size, covered with intricate patterns, wrapped with gold and silver jewels and silk-threaded pendants, all glistening."

"You’re too precise, my horns are far beyond comparison to Wei Shiyue’s. Now climb up from behind, stand on my neck," Princess Pelagia bent her slender neck slightly and swung her tail from behind to the front of Xu Yang. Such a strong dragon tail, if whipped violently, could easily penetrate a mountain.

Xu Yang grasped the huge tail and climbed step by step, taking several minutes to reach the top of Princess Pelagia’s neck covered with tough scales and spines.

"Now?" Xu Yang saw Princess Pelagia’s giant spiral horns right in front of him.

"To care for a dragon, you need patience and a gentle demeanor," Princess Pelagia closed her eyes, "Dragons are proud and haughty, and when you get the chance to stand on top of their heads, you should take good care of their horns."

Xu Yang tried to groom the horns atop the Dragon Clan Princess’s head, acting as instructed, beginning to observe and maintain Princess Pelagia’s horns, which looked quite exquisite.

From close up, Xu Yang found the dragon horns to be very special, smoother than he had imagined, and each bone spur, fold, and spiral pit actually has its own delicacy.

As Xu Yang carefully maintained these horns, clearing away impurities, Princess Pelagia’s demeanor became much more docile, and her voice gentler as well.

Her tail slowly slid on the ground, and her body gradually sank down.

"Is this right?" Xu Yang was curious.

"Yes, even the most ferocious dragons will feel as calm as usual when you care for their horns," Princess Pelagia said relaxedly.

About five or six minutes later, Princess Pelagia stood up, which to Xu Yang was like a mountain rising from the earth.

She let out a heavy breath and then stretched her neck forward, allowing Xu Yang to jump down from the top of her head.

"You have learned the first step in caring for a female dragon; now you have gained the dragon’s trust," Princess Pelagia said.

Xu Yang returned to the ground, observing Princess Pelagia’s entire body.

Undoubtedly, with Princess Pelagia’s stature, when she fully stood up, Xu Yang could easily walk beneath her belly. Looking up, he quickly noticed changes in the dragon’s body, becoming more considerate.

"As long as... I can reach that place..." Xu Yang looked up, the red dragon had an extremely attractive belly, like a metal-crafted spirit, and her relationship with Xu Yang had also grown much closer, basically regarding Xu Yang as a trustworthy human companion.

"You must do the same for Wei Shiyue," Princess Pelagia of the Red Dragon nodded, straightening her body, raising her head to let out a loud dragon chant, the prior event bringing her a pleasure long missed, "The horns are the starting point of mastering dragons. Wei Shiyue knows nothing about it, the same technique will make her feel as if she’s ascended to the clouds. You are a good engineer."

"... I will go back and study more," Xu Yang needed to distance himself from Princess Pelagia, lest she batter him with a single strike.

Princess Pelagia lay down completely, and Xu Yang estimated her size with his eyes, roughly measuring her body length at about 50 meters, with Wei Shiyue being only half the size of Pelagia.

"Once that young girl returns, we will all head back to the palace together," Pelagia gazed into the distance.

Following her gaze, Xu Yang saw Rinne strolling alone through the silvery-gray lowlands of the moon.

She walked with such ease, as if without a care in the world, treading on the moon, which was always facing the planet. Thus, with a mere lift of her head, she could see her homeland beneath the blue sea. Such a view was not always experiential, and the feeling of the real thing far surpassed any virtual illusion.

Her path was marked by a long trail of footprints. The surrounding area, known as the "Moon Sea," was a lowland region on the moon. Rinne walked far into the Moon Sea, but with its area of at least 50 square kilometers, she could not possibly exhaust it on foot, and would turn back once tired.

"Lady Pelagia, what is your usual life like?" Xu Yang asked.

"Incinerating any overly close probes," Pelagia looked up at the pitch-black starry sea. "Some high-tech companies attempt to claim the moon as their own. They try over and over, but we must thwart their conspiracies. The moon is the last refuge for our race."

"Can you move in space?" Xu Yang observed Pelagia, wondering if there were other members of the Dragon Kind as powerful as Mond beneath her.

"Yes, I can wield the divine, transcending the boundaries of the mundane," a dark golden radiance gleamed in Pelagia’s eyes. "Know that I am ’Xueyan’ Pelagia, Queen of the yellow sands three thousand years ago, the immortal ruler of the Crescent Fertile Lands, the Empress of the Dragon Race at the junction of east and west, the King of Kings. The servants of the Ancient Empire built an enduring cult over centuries to offer me divine power. My father forcefully exiled me from the planet to the moon’s surface, allowing my legion of the Secret Ritual Group to fade over the years, presumably also to prevent me from reaching the pinnacle of power, lest I possess the capability to slay him."

"The rift between Wei Shiyue and Mond has deepened," Xu Yang mused.

"Moonlight Princess Wei Shiyue may be legendary one day, but now she is merely a young dragon without even a single dragon egg. She still needs to work hard to ascend her divine staircase," Pelagia said scornfully. "Just like Farosa de Aquilia, she has yet to win the widespread love of witches, making it difficult for her to become the true ’Witch Goddess.’ Both of us still have a long climb ahead on our respective staircases of power."

"Indeed..." Xu Yang conceded the point, "Farosa has practiced for less than twenty years and has much room to grow."

"Now, it’s very intriguing. Never has there been an era as diverse as today," Pelagia lifted her head, looking at Rinne as she walked back from the Moon Sea. "Humankind has always been the underfoot extras and slaves from ancient times, yet now humans have built powerful organizations, ’companies,’ wielding technologies beyond our imagination; though we dragons have lost power, at least we still have the moon to inhabit, preventing total extinction; there are also numerous bizarre races and alien deities awaiting to join the great battle. And then there are witches altering reality... so many species and forces vying for interests. One day I shall return to the human world, to burn the origin in bloodfire, and that day is not far off."

Xu Yang saw the ambitious look in Pelagia’s eyes and suddenly recalled Mond mentioning an inevitable battle between them.

"Lord Mond said the time would come for us to wage war," Xu Yang speculated. "What exactly does that mean?"

"My father, the White Dragon, has lived long and become passionless," Pelagia said contemptuously. "Yet Wei Shiyue brings a whole new variable. My father is extremely cruel, causing the mother of Wei Shiyue to die in resentment. She was a powerful woman who, before dying, uttered a prophecy suggesting Wei Shiyue would avenge her mother, personally beheading my father. My father decided to challenge the prophecy, keeping and raising her until now, to verify the purity and strength of ’destiny’—whether the Moon-White Dragon God and his kin are mighty enough, or if the force of fate called upon by that woman is irresistible. When the time comes, my father will gladly lead the entire Dragon Clan to confront Wei Shiyue on the battlefield, staking his dignity and our powers as his children against fate, to see whether it’s my father’s dragon head that falls or Wei Shiyue perishing ignobly."

"...I see."

Pelagia turned her head toward Xu Yang.

"And you, Engineer, you are bound to stand with Wei Shiyue, to face me on the battlefield," Pelagia proclaimed. "Then you must prepare your strongest fleet and witches to stop me, now that you already know how powerful a dragon I am. My flame is invincible, and my scales impenetrable."

Pelagia’s spirit, size, and posture were all striking, at this moment glowing all around.

So powerful that each scale could be deemed a divine artifact. And there were many more such princes and princesses of the Dragon Clan, with similar status and power on the moon, all in deep slumber, only to be awakened for battle when "Moonfire" Mond himself calls out to them.

The Moon Dragon Race is not to be underestimated.

"What are you talking about?" Rinne walked airily, feeling relaxed now, her mind clear.

"Some things yet to be settled," Xu Yang said mysteriously.

He helped Rinne onto Pelagia’s back, and she spread her wings to take flight, carrying them back to the Moonlight Palace.
