Chapter 593: Chapter 505 Moonlight Stroll
Moon Dust.
Rinne landed on a rough and uneven terrain, terrified, feeling as if her body was no longer her own. She was eerily light, as if she had lost 50 kilograms.
She turned her head, but everything around her was blurry. The world spun, and the air smelled poor, making her want to crouch and retch as if she had been stuffed into a high-speed, low-pressure blender.
A roar echoed nearby.
Turning, she saw a monster about the size of a buffalo staring at her. In fact, it did bear a resemblance to a buffalo, or rather, a hybrid of buffalo and dragon. Her vision was too poor to tell for certain, her mind too foggy. Wobbly, she instinctively stepped back, only to sit down on the lunar soil, stirring up clouds of fine dust.
"Her constitution is too weak,"
"Teleportation sickness."
"Did she come with the engineers?" Harsh, hoarse whispers and comments arose in the distance, and the speakers were surely not human. The sounds were rough, more akin to the vocal cords of some semi-evolved monster.
Rinne took deep breaths, squatting down, hands on her knees. With effort, the implants in her body slowly increased in voltage and frequency. Her consciousness began to reassemble, piecing together like a puzzle.
Then she saw them—the mythical Dragon Kind strolling around her, like in an open zoo.
Moonlight? Moonlight?
Her heart fluttered with such excitement that she almost fell over.
Xu Yang was taking a walk nearby, giving her time to adjust. Seeing her struggle with the moon’s conditions, he had no choice but to come over and carry Rinne on his back. Although the gravity was low here, safety still mattered.
"Our planet is over there." Xu Yang supported the back of Rinne with his left hand, pointing with his right. Rinne looked up to see a blue planet floating amidst the vast darkness. Ground! It looked so big and menacing, not as unimportant as when one’s feet trampled upon it.
It was a surprise, nonetheless.
She clenched her arms around Xu Yang, shouting loudly.
"We’ve come to the moon!" Her excitement raised her voice, pressing her full weight onto Xu Yang.
Rinne looked up at the pitch-black Starry Sea and saw a translucent barrier covering overhead, providing suitable oxygen, temperature, pressure, and gravity for the creatures living beneath.
"Look, the puny Humans, hairless apes without horns.
"She must be with the engineers."
"What a fuss." Several robust Drakes lay on top of the mine. They sported colorful appearances and diverse forms, not one resembling the traditional concept of a "Dragon". Their hybrid features included those of horned animals like rhinos and antelopes, but they had wings, which set them apart from their inferior kin.
Other larger but more foolish wingless Dragon Beasts toiled in the mines. They dragged massive mining carts and machinery, wrapped in ancient belts, ropes, and bridles. The mining tools, gigantic in size, complemented the Dragon Beasts, not created by them but stored in the mines for years and recently put back into operation due to trade activities.
The red Dragon Princess "Xueyan" Pelagia flew to greet Xu Yang. She was one of Mond’s daughters, stronger and older than Wei Shiyue, and more robust.
When she transformed into her human appearance before them, Rinne was shocked. Pelagia’s voluptuous features were barely covered by a thin, pale veil of fabric, her deep red hair cascading from her head like a rolling waterfall, adorned with a golden hairnet, a green diadem, and Moon-Silver pendants.
"I’ve brought a friend," Xu Yang set Rinne down, "and of course, the documents you mentioned last time, I’ve brought them, too."
He handed over the disk containing technical documents to Pelagia. This red Dragon Princess was the leader of the younger Dragon Clan, overseeing the foolish Dragon Beasts and the haughty Drakes. She was effectively the Governor of the Moon Dragon Race colony, with a long lifespan and formidable strength.
"I’ll read them in the palace," Pelagia took the chip, "The equipment in Moonlight Palace was burned out by Wei Shiyue in a fit of rage. Fortunately, with your help, we can restart our work."
Rinne looked up at the towering, massive Dragon Princess. Her beauty and strength were unforgettable. Next to this heavyweight member of the Dragon Kind, Rinne felt as if she was malnourished.
At Pelagia’s signal, four Dragon Beasts with black scales pulled up a large mining cart, loaded with hundreds of tons of precious meteorites, Moon-Silver ore, and rare earth elements. These items were priceless on the Ground market.
Rinne now understood where those ores in the Black Gate Base came from. With the entire moon as their supplier, Nestor Corporation would never lack for metals, comfortably expanding their industrial capacity.
"Take us to somewhere secluded," Xu Yang explained, "She wants to see the moon’s scenery."
"No, no—" Rinne suddenly realized her personal desires were trivial in the face of this significant corporate secret. She had no right to mention them in such a context.
"It’s okay," Xu Yang told her, "You are the main character of this trip, after all."
Rinne lifted her head and strode forward, catching up with Xu Yang. Pelagia’s human form flickered, reverting to her draconic shape amidst a burst of scorching flames. Her tail fell before them as an invitation for them to climb atop it.
