Cyber Era Witch -
Chapter 331 - 301
Chapter 331: 301
There was a foolish Young Witch who wasn’t well looked after following her capture by the organization. She seemed dull and dazed, sitting on a small bed without sleeping. Farosa approached her, sat beside her, and held her in her arms, letting her fall asleep in her embrace.
Witches enslaved by the company was a sight all too common, but how did it all start? If Farosa hadn’t killed the gods, the living conditions of these witches would have been vastly different. They would still be a privileged group, enjoying a standard of living far beyond that of humans.
Now, however, it was different, being chosen, sold, plundered, forced to undergo transformation, only here could they find some security.
The fall of the gods, the downfall of the witches, and the domination of humans, all started from her, as she looked over the quiet resting hall.
At least she could feel the pure adoration these Young Witches had for her. To them, Farosa was a true mother, providing everything they needed.
This was a situation Farosa could have never imagined. How could she know that one day she would need to protect these babbling Young Witches? Yet, as things stood, she genuinely couldn’t abandon these children. They did not make Farosa weaker; they made her stronger.
She had to put an end to this chaotic world and move on to a new future.
Farosa, holding the foolish witch, returned to her own secret chamber. At the entrance of the chamber, there were seven or eight large boxes and a freezer, all sent by Lila and the other witches, full of broken and battered things. When Farosa had the time, she would use the Law of Recovery to restore them, and the labels on the boxes all had timetables to tell her how far back in time she needed to restore them.
The large freezer was particularly obstructive, about the height of a person. Farosa walked up to it and found it to be a mortuary freezer used to store corpses. The label on the outside said to restore to October 11th of the Year 149, which was five days ago, when the raid had just erupted, signed Miyazato Kazama.
What dead person?
Farosa pushed the lid open with one hand, and a gust of cold air drifted out.
Inside, she saw a young girl lying in the midst of the icy mist, wearing a lab coat, with no obvious external injuries—she might have died from taking medication. Her hands were placed at her sides, and her appearance had been carefully attended to; her eyes were tightly closed, her expression peaceful—as if Miyazato Kazama had made her neat and tidy.
What a troublemaker, Farosa thought to herself. Dead for so many days, her soul must have departed; reviving her would result in nothing more than a soulless walking corpse.
She first gathered her magic power, releasing the Law of Recovery on the dead girl. A flash of red light sparked across heaven and earth, and life was restored. The girl opened her eyes in a daze.
"It’s so cold," she kept saying, "so very cold."
Farosa was still holding the foolish witch in her arms, who had no name. She simply called her Little Fool, planning to take her to Old Man Cui later for surgery and modifications, which should make her smarter.
She contacted Miyazato Kazama, asking her to hurry up and come deal with this resurrected problem, then watched indifferently as the girl struggled to climb out of the freezer.
"She still has a soul," Farosa said, "which means she harbors deep resentment and is unwilling to be reincarnated."
"Who are you..." the girl shivered from the cold.
Miyazato Kazama rushed over, striding three steps at a time to the secret chamber’s entrance, looking bedraggled and disheveled. As soon as she saw the girl, she immediately threw herself at her, overjoyed.
"Xiao Ai!" Miyazato Kazama exclaimed, beaming with joy.
Earlier, when she spoke with Ai Katagiri, she knew that Xiao Ai’s physical and mental conditions were very poor. The chaos sparked by Black Fire Innovation’s assault on the city was when Ai Katagiri completely lost the will to live.
As Ai Katagiri’s only friend, Miyazato Kazama managed to obtain Ai Katagiri’s body.
Ai Katagiri lay motionless in Miyazato Kazama’s arms, her face a blank.
"Lady Farosa, her... her name is Ai Katagiri," Miyazato Kazama said hurriedly. "She’s my only friend."
"How did she die?" Farosa put the Little Fool on the ground, who then crawled towards the refrigerator on her own.
"Ah..." Miyazato Kazama pursed her lips.
"Suicide," replied Ai Katagiri calmly. "I’ve wanted to die for a long time. Did you use magic power to resurrect me?"
"Don’t be like this, little Ai..." Miyazato Kazama was afraid Ai Katagiri would turn into a mess of flesh.
A mocking expression appeared on Farosa’s face.
"If she doesn’t want to live, why are you here persuading her?" Farosa said. "It’s better to let her pass on sooner and save a lot of trouble."
"Wait, wait for me, Lady Farosa," Miyazato Kazama’s face turned pale with fear. "Don’t... don’t kill little Ai."
"You took it upon yourself to have me resurrected," Ai Katagiri said indifferently. "Do you find that amusing?"
"You think this is my first time doing something like this? Very amusing. Everyone has the same reaction, and I am prepared for it," Farosa said with a clap of her hands, laughing as she answered for Miyazato Kazama. "Kazama, step back."
Miyazato Kazama could guess what was going to happen next. She backed away in fear and closed her eyes.
Bang!
Ai Katagiri exploded into chunks of blood and flesh. The Little Fool looked on blankly at the bloody mess in front of her. Luckily, due to her intellectual deficiency, she didn’t understand what it was and just ran frightened to squat by the wall.
Following that, Farosa resurrected Ai Katagiri again; blood and flesh instantly reassembled into form.
As soon as Ai Katagiri was resurrected, she let out a terrifying scream, retreating backward. Fortunately, the soundproofing here was good, otherwise, if she had awakened the other Young Witches, it would have attracted an even more terrible fate.
"Alive, dead," Farosa walked towards Ai Katagiri step by step. "When your friend sent you here, you no longer had the right to decide whether you live or die."
"Stay alive, little Ai, please," Miyazato Kazama pleaded, her voice trembling with fear as she tried to calm Ai Katagiri, "I beg you... I beg you, your life is too important to me... Even if it’s just for me, will you choose to live? When the research institute informed me that you committed suicide, my heart nearly broke. I had to have Lady Farosa resurrect you... It was my greatest wish, little Ai!"
"..." Ai Katagiri sighed despondently, leaning against the wall, "Do you think I will be happy this way?"
"This is a good place," Miyazato Kazama hurried towards Ai Katagiri, grabbing her hand. "You will find a place to showcase your talent here."
"What can she do?" Farosa asked.
```
"Researching supercomputers," Miyazato Kazama said hurriedly. "Computer technology is also very important to the boss, Lady Farosa... Please spare her life."
"Her attitude ruined my mood, so she can only help me take care of the Young Witch," Farosa said. "When she behaves well, she can do other things."
"Yes. Yes," Miyazato Kazama promised on Ai Katagiri’s behalf.
Farosa picked up the Little Fool by the wall, returned to the inner part of the secret room, and went to rest.
Once Farosa left, Ai Katagiri began to cry. The mysterious and unpredictable Witch had put enormous psychological pressure on her, facing such a terrifying figure for the first time in her life.
"Xiao Ai, Xiao Ai, look at me," Miyazato Kazama hurriedly turned Ai Katagiri’s face towards herself. "Look at me, okay? Don’t be afraid, I’m here, I will definitely keep you alive. You are my most important friend, without you, I would have no attachments in this world."
"Kazama..."
"Alright, listen to me," Miyazato Kazama took a deep breath. "This place is called Shijin Mansion, belonging to the New World Mechanism. We are doing things here that aim to change the world. Don’t doubt it, we indeed have the strength to accomplish this. Now we are slowly gathering power. The one who resurrected you and was about to kill you is the Witch Goddess Farosa. The company’s boss is someone else, I’ll introduce you later. For now, you need to obey and go to my room to get some good sleep."
"..." Ai Katagiri was mentally exhausted and had no choice but to follow Miyazato Kazama.
Miyazato Kazama was deeply concerned. Black Fire Innovation’s strike against Kyoto Infinity shattered the dreams of countless people. All she could do was preserve Ai Katagiri’s last life. As for whether Ai Katagiri could find the courage to live again in the future, that was unknown.
The next day, Farosa first went to the underwater prison, where Pan Ruiyi had already beaten the Invisible Imperial Guard to dust, with only a bit of ash remaining.
"Lady Farosa, I feel I am ready to become the Dominator Witch!" Pan Ruiyi exercised her arms and legs, feeling her Magic Circuit overflowing with unprecedented power and vitality.
She performed martial arts on the open ground, each punch and kick highly disciplined and precise, combining ancient martial arts with Magic Power skills. Once she ascended to the rank of Dominator, she truly would be unmatched in close combat on a global scale.
"Very good," Farosa liked knights with real strength. "I will now enhance your Power."
"I could still fight it a few more times until I learn all of its techniques," Pan Ruiyi looked back at the dark ashes in the glass cage.
"No, I have more important tasks for you. I need more manpower."
"What sort of powerful enemy is it? Did Yanagawa Fumihiko come knocking?" Pan Ruiyi was eager to try.
"More troublesome than that—babysitting children."
Elsewhere, A40 set out westward to retrieve the Shuttle Machine.
The death of Han Shishan deeply affected A40. That fellow was also a Heavenly Cardinal Knight, and along the way, they fought Black Fire Assault Troops, saved cities, kept each other company, and shared friendship. They were spirited and determined, but Han Shishan ultimately met a gruesome end, exploding into chunks of flesh, killed by unpredictable fate, which A40 found difficult to understand.
Dissatisfaction turned into anger, and A40 headed westward, intending to cleave open the path of life and death and eliminate all the injustices of the human world.
That day, it traveled twenty or thirty miles until its battery signaled a warning, drained and exhausted. It headed to a nearby prominent gas station to rest, a place frequented by travelers from all directions. Yet from afar, not only was it deserted, but there was also smoke billowing.
A40 sensed something was wrong and quickly approached the gas station. It found many wrecked vehicles nearby as if after a great battle, with continuous gunfire inside the convenience store, which struck A40 as odd.
It followed the sound and immediately saw four Mercenaries wielding shotguns and machetes, searching inside and cornering a woman in a white long-sleeved outfit, who moved like a ghost.
Guns blazed continuously, the mercenaries kept firing, wounding her and causing her to let out a mournful cry as she fell to the ground.
"Finally caught her!"
"Damn, all that effort wasn’t in vain!"
"Take her, take her!" The mercenaries crowded around, ready to drag the woman away.
A40 glanced around. The gas station owner and employees lay not far away, with large holes blasted through their chests. It was furious that someone dared to commit such atrocities in broad daylight.
Eat my blade!
A40, wielding an iron sword, rushed in and launched Rapid Slash, tearing through them like a tiger through sheep. It swung left and right, cleaving flesh and bone with each strike, its movements wide and powerful, overwhelming the mercenaries and sending their morale plummeting.
Its speed was already extraordinary, and in such a situation, it was even more formidable.
"Enemy!"
"It’s a robot!"
"Ahhhh—" The mercenaries were quickly slaughtered by A40.
A40 vented a large amount of heat, removing the excess warmth from its body, then rushed to the woman in white, helping her up. She seemed neither injured nor weighted down, almost like a true ghost.
When A40 looked at the woman’s face, it was even more on guard—she had no face! Just a mist.
"Who are you! State your name!" A40 demanded. "Otherwise, I’ll cut you down!"
"I am the Sakura Witch Reisei Kirino," the woman in white spoke softly. "You are A40, aren’t you? I saw you at the Colosseum during the battle festival."
"You’re fooling no one!" A40 felt mocked. "Reisei Kirino is obviously in Shangjing."
"That is not the real Reisei Kirino, but the Monster Nanase Kizuna," the woman in white explained. "Are you heading to Mingge Mountain?"
"Following the boss’s orders, westward to get the vehicle," A40 inquired. "Where are you heading?"
"I am going to the Eternal Cherry Blossom Shrine to retrieve my ’body,’" the woman in white showed A40 her skin, which sometimes turned into black mist. "Why don’t we travel together? When the time comes, please allow me to use your boss’s vehicle to return and kill Nanase Kizuna."
