Cyber Era Witch -
Chapter 294 - 266: Sky Annihilation
Chapter 294: Chapter 266: Sky Annihilation
Farosa continually strengthened the Great Slaughter Law in her hand.
Initially, she had profound Divine Power at her disposal, but it was difficult to harness until the Yan Duo incident, after which her mastery of Divine Power greatly improved.
At the edge of Nangong Island, more Phase Demons waited for the chance to enter, ceaselessly seeking out the unstable points in the spatial structure. The Nangong Island that collided with the gap, like a giant rock plunging into the sea, stirred up ripples in the chaotic space, immediately capturing their attention.
What interested the thousands of Phase Demons the most, however, was the Martinez hovering above, which, along with Yama, sliced through the heavens above Nangong Island like a blunt knife. The Witch was also trying to tear open a crevice.
The recurring Spatial Tides provided them with power, but now it was far from enough; the force of the spatial waves was too small, and no one knew when the next big wave would come.
Unless the Spatial Tide emerged, the Martinez would be forever trapped, doomed to destruction here. The Moonlight Dragon was on its way and would end all problems.
Facing the direst situation, Yama also exerted its last strength.
It turned its head and let out a piercing screech—thousands of tormented spirits wailed from its gaping maw, mingling with Yama’s cry to form an overwhelmingly vengeful roar!
Then, a terribly powerful energy wave glowed from its wide maw.
As this energy wave took form, the surrounding space began to bend slightly, sporting cracks like those on a damaged eggshell. The numerous spirits within it were constantly absorbed by this energy ball, propelling its size to grow unceasingly.
"Roar—"
Yama fully opened its mouth and unleashed the supremely potent force of evil energy, directly targeting Farosa!
Faced with Yama’s evil light cannon, Farosa had no choice but to smash the half-prepared Great Slaughter Law down upon the Black Fire Assault Troops below. They were charging in a scattered formation and were enveloped by the Slaughter Law, with a large swath of the squad instantly collapsing. Approximately half the area was swept away, with hundreds of soldiers dying on the spot without so much as a dying wail or movement, disintegrating into thousands of pieces of flesh and blood on the spot!
Afterward, Farosa wielded the Magic Blade with her hand. The Witches of the past had also attempted to explore a similar mechanism for storing and releasing Magic Power, but to no avail. Now, Farosa wanted to give it a try.
What would happen if one gathered the purest Magic Power and then released it!
"Come forth!" Farosa swung the Magic Blade fiercely, and a torrent of Magic Power, intertwining grey and red spirals, surged forth with a deafening roar!
And then... collision!
The ancient Monster’s evil light cannon and the ancient Supreme Witch’s Infinite Magic Power confronted each other, instantly causing a violent explosion. Invisible shockwaves swept out, the blinding light dazzled the eyes, and the heavens and earth trembled!
Xu Yang noticed that the hilt of the Magic Blade in Farosa’s hand was scorchingly hot and overloaded, and immediately called out a warning. Farosa also realized that this fragile human creation was far from top-notch and completely incapable of bearing her vast and mighty Magic Power, so she poured out most of her strength before it completely shattered, doing her best to block the onslaught of the evil light cannon before swiftly retreating outward.
Xu Yang activated the Cloud Beast’s armed mode, scooped up Farosa, and ran. She still held the broken hilt of the Magic Blade, intending to restore it and use it again.
Yama’s evil light cannon surpassed all! The black beam pierced through the dissipating mist of Magic Power, its head swung, and it slashed at the altar with its vast black flames. Except for the Moon-Silver Altar itself, which could not be destroyed, the stone platform cracked like tofu.
Before their foothold vanished, Xu Yang retreated with Farosa in his arms, leaping down behind the high platform, instantly landing amid the complex vegetation to evade the pursuit of the evil light cannon.
"Hiss..." The giant light ball in Yama’s mouth also finally dissipated.
"What’s next?" Xu Yang set Farosa down.
"You know, strong mental influence can help me recover quickly," Farosa restored the broken hilt.
Xu Yang wiggled his fingers, and Farosa shivered all over, her cheeks flushed, a tingling sensation stirred in her heart as magic power surged forth in great amounts.
Farosa gripped the Magic Blade with both hands, channelling the restored magic power back into the hilt; red and gray magic power erupted again like twin flames dancing around.
"The second attack is about to come," Farosa looked up at Yama floating in the sky.
Yama tentatively let out a howl, but it had no other tortured souls left inside to consume, and if pierced by Farosa’s torrent of magic power, the consequences would be unimaginable.
The opponent’s resources were infinite, able to start over any time, and facing such a level of Reality Manipulator, defeat was a foregone conclusion.
After all, this world was dictated by Reality Manipulators.
Seeing that even Yama couldn’t defeat the mysterious witch, the captain of the Martinez accepted it all with calm, he checked the condition of the witch opening the space rift; the door of magic power was opening but was highly unstable and essentially unusable.
The struggle of Black Fire Innovation had ended in failure. He thought sadly. We were too powerless.
Elsewhere, in the Colosseum Arena.
A40 once again encountered Xylophia in the entrance corridor.
"This power is not what I am supposed to have," A40 said, "I should stop."
"You must become the First Warrior," Xylophia said earnestly, "Don’t just hand over the Godslayer Weapon. She didn’t come to see me, so you must get the weapon and then pass it on to her."
"Is she that important to you?"
Xylophia nodded gently.
"...You must fight," Xylophia closed her eyes, "Bring victory to her, I... I think she would be very happy to see that."
"Hmm," A40 nodded.
It stepped into the arena, facing the championship contender Yanagawa Fumihiko.
Meeting the apex competitor of the contest, A40 felt immense pressure, but with the enchantment vanishing power of Fury in its grasp, it was not without a fighting chance.
In front of A40, Yanagawa Fumihiko donned a heavy, cutting-edge white samurai armor, his head spherical with no regular features. As the Referee Robot announced the rules of combat, he drew both his katana and dagger, assuming the stance of the swordsmanship he had practiced for seventy years.
Known as the First Warrior of the Archipelago Continent, Yanagawa Fumihiko was often praised; in his practice, he had mastered eleven different swordsmanship schools and recombined all the schools within his precise combat core module.
Every swordsmanship had its strengths and weaknesses, and by blending the best of all eleven schools, Yanagawa Fumihiko could compensate for the flaws of one with the strengths of another. He reorganized these eleven swordsmanship styles to optimize and adapt to each other, defending against weaknesses, enhancing strengths, layering techniques to create the "Yanagawa Style" swordsmanship.
Through seventy years of relentless practice and cyborg enhancements, Yanagawa Fumihiko had forged an unbeatable reputation. He had slaughtered the enemies of Xisheng, protected the safety of Honma Noriko, and even today, he would seize the Godslayer Weapon and claim the championship of the festival for Honma Noriko.
Unparalleled in the world.
A mere A40, was hardly even noticed by Yanagawa Fumihiko.
"Quarterfinals, begin!" the referee robot swung its hand downward, declaring the eruption of fierce combat.
In an instant, A40 left its position, striking towards Yanagawa Fumihiko, slashing along the trajectory it had practiced millions of times.
Just one hit with the blade, and victory would be theirs!
The deadly attack forced Yanagawa Fumihiko to retreat. He realized that A40 knew him very well, familiar with most of his combat techniques, clearly having undergone countless targeted trainings.
Following that, Yanagawa Fumihiko decided to drag the fight into his familiar rhythm.
Knowing he couldn’t compete with the magic power on A40’s sword, he evaded its sharpness, consistently weakening A40, leaving one shallow cut after another on its body, retreating dozens of steps each time he barely managed to strike.
Yanagawa Fumihiko was too shrewd; he had fought in countless battles throughout his life, and if the fight dragged on, victory would be in the bag.
It was clear to anyone with eyes that Yanagawa Fumihiko intended to win by attrition. Watching the live broadcast develop to this point, Huang Feng couldn’t control her sadness, crying bitterly with an endless sour ache in her heart.
"I want A40 to win!" she wailed, "Rolo!"
"Sss...huh..." Rolo let out a chilling sound, "It’s useless. We need to save your magic power until we return to the Taiya Archipelago... The Martinez is done for, Nangong Island is a trap."
"You bastard!" Huang Feng slammed her forehead against the screen, blood marking her brow, "I’ll die for you to see!"
"Crazy woman." Rolo grabbed Huang Feng’s left shoulder with his left hand, pulling the restrictor out from behind her with his right hand.
Magic power swirled within Huang Feng like a flood.
"A40 will win!" Huang Feng shrieked.
Command Reality.
"A40 will win!" Huang Feng cried out in sorrow, "A40 will win... A40..."
Rolo stabbed the restrictor back into Huang Feng. She knelt on the floor, covering her face with her hands, tears seeping through her fingers.
As long as A40 won... anything would be fine.
She watched the screen through tearful eyes.
Things didn’t turn out as well as she had hoped.
A40 became even more agitated, knowing it would be dragged to death by Yanagawa Fumihiko. It preferred to accelerate, unleash full power, and end the fight quickly.
When A40 swung out its Fury again, Yanagawa Fumihiko retreated like a butterfly, swinging his katana for a counterattack.
Clang—
The katana hit A40’s wrist, instantly severing its right hand. Fury was tossed into the air, A40 changed direction using the propellant on its back and retrieved the Fury with its left hand.
The move had been predicted. A40 thought to itself.
Yanagawa Fumihiko’s other hand thrust the dagger forward, piercing A40’s abdomen like spearing an animal. He ran his katana along the spine of his counter-blade, as if plucking meat from skewers, slashing A40 down to the ground.
Sizzle—sizzle—
Sparks erupted from where A40 was hit as it retreated, dodging Yanagawa Fumihiko’s pursuit.
How could it fight on without its right hand? Huang Feng’s face turned ashen.
"Why can’t I command reality?" she said.
A40 retreated, showing an opening to draw Yanagawa Fumihiko’s attack, then swung its blade with its left hand. Its swordsmanship was immaculate, instantly striking Yanagawa Fumihiko’s long sword, which disappeared in an instant.
"Left-handed swordplay..." Yanagawa Fumihiko, having lost his main weapon, pondered.
"There’s no such thing as left or right-handedness for a Synthetic Human!" A40 thrust its sword forward with its left hand, continuing the fierce onslaught.
Rolo watched the progression of the battle. Even now, the fight between A40 and Yanagawa Fumihiko was evenly matched.
Huang Feng clearly said A40 would win, so why?
Perhaps her magic power wasn’t to command reality?
On Nangong Island, Farosa joyfully unleashed her magic power. She shook her Magic Blade, sending meteor-like magic power projectiles flying, red and grey magic bullets impacting Yama, carving burn marks, with thick wounds oozing black blood, every drop of blood on the island giving rise to evil flowers entwined with rotten organs.
This cheap Magic Blade would be utterly useless after one or two uses, and its attack efficiency was also problematic. Fortunately, in the hands of Farosa, durability wasn’t an issue; it could be continuously restored.
Xu Yang provided cover for Farosa, combating those scattered and desperate Black Fire Assault Troops.
Farosa felt safer beside Xu Yang. She grew bolder, fearless, no longer fleeing, constantly attacking the Yama in the air. The old her would have tried to maneuver around, but now she was very confident, willing to try every possibility, employing her newly-acquired treasures.
"How I wish you were born a thousand years earlier?" Farosa murmured, "You would be the village hero, taking me away at age 7 when you were 18, embarking on great adventures outside the village."
"We can still have great adventures now." Xu Yang kept vigilance against incoming foes, refusing to relax for a moment, continuously firing his handgun.
It was at that moment he heard an unprecedentedly sharp sound—
The Phase Demons also looked up, letting out roars.
The Spatial Tide was coming!
The rift suddenly stretched to a kilometer in size.
"Martinez, advance!" the captain roared uncontrollably, "Advance!"
