Chapter 1008: Chapter 798: Refitting into My Home_2

"I’ve thought about this question as well." Xu Yang said, "The shifts in the global economic landscape and corporate power structures are incredibly fast, but cultural terrains evolve much more slowly. Even if a corporation conquers a piece of land, it can’t violently alter or steal the culture on that land. That’s why even the most powerful corporations often have no voice at all when it comes to cultural products."

"Just like New Taixi State, which has no culture to speak of." Menon shook his head, "Concepts like freedom, equality, and the spirit of commercial contracts were inherited from the Old Taixi Continent. The only traditions New Taixi State has are the extermination of wild buffalo and indigenous peoples. They haven’t exported any anime or movies, and the Lighthouse Core remains stagnant and isolated—sooner or later, it’ll be forgotten."

"Yeah..." Xu Yang also considered this perspective.

The Lighthouse Core is technologically advanced enough to create the Divine Radiance, yet its global influence is diminishing day by day. Without any allies, perhaps emerging corporations really do have a chance to overthrow such a veteran giant.

After exchanging gifts, Menon departed for the West Coast in his private plane.

He was indeed one of the more approachable entrepreneurs, and everyone was very satisfied with this interaction, making Nestor Corporation’s external relations slightly better.

...

About a month later, the Divine Radiance was completely transformed into the new model Xu Yang had envisioned.

Not only was its safety improved, but it also featured the home modules Xu Yang loved.

The entire Divine Radiance was like an old-fashioned RV from bygone eras, spacious enough to take the whole family on trips.

"We can go out and have fun now." Xu Yang piloted the Divine Radiance to the balcony of his apartment and called Xu Cheng and Bubble aboard.

"Wow!" Xu Cheng leapt onto the balcony, pointing her tiny finger at the Divine Radiance, her eyes wide and her fingertip quivering, "A fighter jet!"

"That’s right! Here’s your fighter jet—come aboard." Xu Yang gestured for them to pack their luggage.

Xu Cheng and Bubble each carried a big backpack and ran over, hopping one after the other into the interior of the Divine Radiance.

"Hello, everyone! I’m the Divine Radiance’s main AI, Star Weaving Lady!" Star Weaving Lady announced to the children.

"Hello!" Xu Cheng rushed to the control panel, spreading her arms to hug the plastic-metal cabinet housing Star Weaving Lady, as if embracing a new friend.

"Hello!" Bubble ran over from behind, also spreading her arms, holding Xu Cheng and Star Weaving Lady at the same time.

Star Weaving Lady was amused by them.

Xu Yang closed the shuttle machine’s door and led Xu Cheng and Bubble to familiarize themselves with the various equipment in the Divine Radiance.

"Look, this is the sleeping area, this is the virtual cabin and gaming console, this is the kitchen, and there are drinks in the onboard freezer. Over there is the printer, linked to Nestor Corporation’s archive database. Want to read a book? Just print it here." Xu Yang guided them on a tour of the Divine Radiance.

"It’s so big inside!" Xu Cheng clapped her hands excitedly.

"It’s even bigger than it looks from outside!" Bubble was equally enchanted by the place.

"There’s even a hydroponic farm where you can grow plants," Xu Yang showcased.

"Grow milk!" Xu Cheng cheered.

"Grow sweet potatoes!" Bubble raised her hands high.

"Sweet potatoes are actually feasible." Xu Yang scattered sweet potato seeds.

They completely treated the Divine Radiance as their new paradise, roaming around, touching this, playing with that, experiencing all the novel features the shuttle machine offered.

To them, the entire shuttle felt like the biggest toy imaginable.

"Charge ahead, Star Weaving Lady!" Xu Cheng waved forward, "Full speed ahead!"

"Got it!" Star Weaving Lady immediately pushed the Divine Radiance to its maximum speed, charging full throttle.

With the roar of the engine, the entire Divine Radiance began speeding through the sky at over a thousand kilometers per hour.

"So fast!" Xu Cheng clung to the control panel, waving toward the white clouds streaking by quickly ahead.

"We’re almost above the clouds now—" Bubble wobbled in place, curiously observing her surroundings.

In just a moment, the Divine Radiance breached the cloud layer.

Bubble climbed over to Xu Cheng’s side, and the two children pressed against the shuttle’s window to look outside, stunned by what they saw.

Initially, the Divine Radiance was surrounded by dense clouds, but soon, as if traversing a giant heap of fluffy cotton candy, the shuttle emerged, leaving the clouds behind like a soft white blanket cast away.

Outside was brilliant sunlight. With the Divine Radiance now flying above the clouds, they could see the radiant golden sun suspended above the horizon, backed by an endless azure sky that resembled a lit, cerulean mirror.

Below them lay soft, rolling waves of clouds, through which occasional glimpses of mountains and ocean were visible.

"On top of the ocean, there’s another ocean—the ocean of clouds!" Bubble exclaimed joyfully.

"We’ve won!" Xu Cheng slapped the window excitedly, turning back to shout at her dad, "We’ve won!"

"Star Weaving Lady really knows how to fly!" Xu Yang praised her.

"Just doing my job!" Star Weaving Lady was equally pleased, as Xu Cheng and Bubble acted like two countryside kids seeing the world for the first time.

As the Divine Radiance continued its high-speed flight, the cloudscape transformed dramatically, with sunlight refracting hues of pink and orange Phantom Light, its dazzling brilliance seemingly measuring the breadth of the earth.

Xu Cheng and Bubble’s jaws dropped wider and wider, utterly mesmerized by the dreamlike scenery.

If they were on an ordinary plane, similar views could be enjoyed. But here, on the Divine Radiance—it was their own home, equipped with everything, capable of soaring thousands or even tens of thousands of meters high to reveal such magnificent aerial sights.

"Let’s head to the Taiya Archipelago to visit 101 and 102." Xu Yang gave Star Weaving Lady the coordinates.

"Right away! Estimated arrival time: 3 hours!" Star Weaving Lady sped up the shuttle’s journey.

"Impressive." Xu Yang found a comfortable spot aboard the Divine Radiance to lie down.

He turned his gaze toward the surging sea of clouds outside—as if the world itself had shrunk. With the Divine Radiance, even the most distant destinations felt within reach.

"New home!"

"New house!"

"A house that can fly!"

"Go anywhere we want!" Xu Cheng and Bubble couldn’t contain their enthusiasm for the Divine Radiance, overjoyed beyond measure.

Xu Yang understood them completely—he himself felt that the Divine Radiance was unparalleled, the foremost shuttle machine of the era. How could two little kids not adore it?

"Within the Lighthouse Core, the Divine Radiance is considered an advanced product, isn’t it?" Xu Yang remarked.

"Absolutely. Even within the Lighthouse Core, the Divine Radiance series is quite rare. It also has sister models, but those are designed exclusively for spaceflight, traveling to outer space." Star Weaving Lady replied casually.

"I see..." Xu Yang understood.

The Divine Radiance, as a shuttle machine, could only navigate within the atmosphere. It relied on aerodynamics to move, with excellent thrust and endurance, but it couldn’t reach the stars—after all, space lacks air.

To reach space, spacecraft must use rocket engines to overcome Earth’s gravity, achieve escape velocity, and, once in space, use other types of engines to adjust their positioning.

Just like Nestor Corporation’s current rocket program, which was soon to launch its first rocket to carry Nestor Corporation’s communication satellites, filling the sky with Nestor Corporation’s strategic prowess!
