But then I stopped in my tracks because as soon as I turned around, my eyes locked with the crowned prince’s. I was so shocked that I stumbled back, my mouth and eyes flying open as I gaped up at him. He had his hands deep in his pocket, his hair loose and flowing around his face as he silently regarded me.

My heart was racing hard as I stared up at him, and nothing was coming to my mind right now that I was supposed to speak.

"You’re here." He noted in a low voice that made a shiver roll down my spine. I nodded while struggling to formulate another sentence.

"Uh, yeah..," I mumbled, my cheeks flushing when his eyes raked over my face.

He stepped closer in the next moment and I took one step back while my heart pounded hard against my ribs. When he took one step closer, that’s when I noticed that his eyes were bright gold right now, and that made me gulp as panic bells went off in my head.

Was that a good thing? Did that mean trouble?

I had no idea.

I waited to feel fear, but I didn’t feel anything. Although, my heart was still racing fast, and when I inched backward again till my back met with his door, I realized that what I was feeling within me right now was excitement. Raw, unbridled excitement. My heartbeat was accelerating fast and my stomach was clenching and unclenching every few seconds.

When he closed the distance between us, one of his hands coming to rest on the spot above my head, I swallowed emptily as I wet my bottom lip with my tongue when his eyes kept staring at them.

"Hi." I whispered because nothing else was coming to mind.

"Hello, kitten." He whispered and I shivered, my eyelids fluttering a little. _{free.w e bn.ov(e)l(.)com}

"I thought you weren’t coming again today." He suddenly said and my eyes widened as I shook my head.

"T- that’s why I’m here, because—"

He cut me off with a finger pressing against my lips, then he shook his head.

"You’re here now." He stated matter of factly and I nodded, my heart fluttering embarrassingly fast in my chest.

When he took his index finger away, I wanted to say something, to explain to him what happened today that hindered me from coming till this very moment.

However, his hand came around my middle and he pulled me into his chest. I stiffened at first before melting agsinst his broad chest which felt hot through the material of his shirt. His hands wrapped around me and I felt so warm and wanted right now. His hands tightened and my stomach filled up with heat as I tentatively wrapped my arms around his waist, letting my eyes fall close as I relaxed fully against his chest.

The world shifted around me, like the air got pulled from underneath my feet and I gasped in shock, surprise and fear as my eyes flew open. My heart flew into my throat at the realization that we were no longer standing before his door, but now in his bedroom.

One moment, we had been outside, hugging in front of his door, and right now, we were in his room. I was so confused and blown away and when I blinked up at him, the question quickly died down from the intense look in his eyes as his eyes raked over me.

His hands tightened on my waist and I swallowed emptily, surprising a stupid whine building in my throat.

"You shouldn’t be here right now." He suddenly said just as he dropped his hands from my sides.

My eyes widened and I felt disappointment quietly settle within me as the loss of his warmth started to seep into me.

"Oh," I whispered awkwardly.

He was still staring at me and his eyes were still so intense and golden. The lights in here were turned off except a very dim one, which made the glows in his eyes stand out even more.

"I’m not myself tonight, I can feel myself losing a grip of my control with you here." He continued and what he meant dawned on me.

I stared at him, noticing the way he was currently clenching and unclenching his hands at his sides.

I licked my bottom lip when my eyes met with his again as I spoke.

"Is that a bad thing? If you lose control, that is."

He let out a chuckle that made me feel the urge to squeeze my legs tightly together for some weird reason.

"Of course, kitten. It means I could hurt you. Your human body is very fragile and frail."

Somehow, I just know that he wasn’t insulting me, he was just stating clear facts.

I let my eyes trail over his body again, and I felt something loosen in my chest, prompting me to take a step forward.

His eyes sharpened. "Lilac,"

I shuddered, biting on my bottom lip. "Huh?"

"Don’t come closer." He warned, and the vibrations in his voice made me shiver again as I let out a shaky exhale.

This is crazy. Am I going crazy? Probably.

"Okay." I whispered in response.

However, in the next moment, I found myself inching closer again. Even when he let out a low, warning growl that would have made me fall to my knees from fright before. I was still frightened right now, after all he could lose control any moment and hurt me, but I didn’t know what kept pushing me to keep going and going, till I was standing close to him.

"Lilac..." he whispered in a ragged voice as he cupped my face with his two hands which felt so hot and searing against my face, right as I trembled against his chest.

"Please." I choked out, not knowing what I was even begging for, but the word was out before I could think it over twice.

In the next moment; he was leaning down and taking my mouth in a searing kiss.
