So far so good Si Ning doesn’t think he had done anything to raise any suspicion about him but he knew the man from the temple probably said something to Ge Liang but he was already determined not to give anything away so he wore a confused look as he furrows his brows.

"He got his face bitten by a dog." Lan Wan started laughing out loud making Ge Liang divert his attention to him but then he stopped laughing when he realised he was the only one laughing.

"Your bandage, you should remove it." Ge Liang said to Si Ning.

Seems things were going to get started sooner so Si Ning didn’t oppose as he raised his hands to remove the bandage. All he had to do was to peel off the first layer and if anybody recognize him then they would start their attack early but before he could remove the first layer Lan Zhang held his hand to stop him.

"I respect you Master Ge Liang but if my man removes the bandage I spent a fortune on and his face gets damaged, can you handle it?" Lan Zhang asked, his tune firm and full of extreme seriousness even Lan Wan looked shocked.

The way Lan Zhang held Si Ning’s hand and even called him his man anyone would think the man with the bandage was his lover and he spent a huge amount of money to treat his lover’s face after he sustained a wound so his statement was more like a dare that the face could only be revealed if Ge Liang would be able to handle the aftermath. Si Ning that also didn’t hesitate to remove the bandage also showed that he was not a threat and was completely innocent.

"I will let my curiosity rest for now." Ge Liang said as he turned to the Priest to see him nod once so he turned to Lan Zhang. "You know my brother Sumeng bent the rules to include his daughter Mengshu as the next General of the Ge army only for her to resign if she give birth to a son because in the Ge army code it is stated that a male should lead the army so she was expected to take over the army if my brother dies which might not happen till her son is of age to take over the army from Sumeng but people’s destiny are already determined and my brother died without seeing his grandson." Ge Liang said almost sounding like he was in a hurry.

Si Ning wanted to bash his mouth for even saying his mother’s name casually while wearing a sad look like he didn’t have a hand in her death but the pit trap Ge Liang set for him already taught him how to be patient and that great things take time and for the first time Si Ning was able to stable his hand and he replaced his anger with pity because Ge Liang would also meet his determined destiny soon.

"An unfortunate occurrence." Lee said shaking his head but anyone could tell his mouth just dripped in sarcasm.

"I heard Mengshu’s son General Si Ning was a great man but it was so sad he met his fate in a trap leading here when he was just coming to deliver his mother’s head to me so that I can show you as proof of her death but since he died I also brought evidence of his death too so you can see." Ge Liang said as he gestured to the boxes on the ground.

"You lie! Liar!" One of the reserved forces shouted. "Liar! Our General wan..." Before he could complete his sentence one of Ge Liang’s men gave him a kick in his mouth that sent two of his teeth flying out of his mouth that started dripping with blood.

"Emperor Lee should we just kill them, this one is too stubborn that he refused to release that bow no matter how much we beat him." One of Lee’s men said in annoyance as he stepped on the reserved force hand.

It was then Si Ning saw it, he was holding his bow despite the man crushing his hand and his mouth bleeding yet he refused to release the bow. Si Ning watched bitterly as Lee’s subordinate started to flog him but the rest of the reserved force shuffled together and tried to block the whip but this only sent him to start flogging them too with so much force their skin breaking could be heard yet none of them cries out.

"Patient my dear, I enjoy taming mad dogs." Lee chuckled as he watched his subordinate continue flogging the captives.

"They are enemies that wanted to kill me." Ge Liang explained vaguely because Lan Zhang had a look of curiosity. "The Ge army code means I should be the next successor." He said bringing back Lan Zhang’s attention to what they were saying before they got interrupted.

"Yes." Lan Zhang replied.

Si Ning wanted to badly look into the box but he might lose control so he raised just his thumb behind him wanting the motion to be quick because the way Ge Liang talks like he was trying to be friendly with Lan Zhang was making his stomach turn as it started to boom hatred which he was trying hard to conceal. One of Lan Zhang’s men stepped out after seeing his finger.

"Commander. I need to relieve myself." He announced and ran off to the back of the tent that looked like storage after Lan Zhang noded, accepting the permission.

The Priest once again stepped forward to say something to Ge Liang then stepped back then Ge Liang’s gaze was directed straight to the two men who didn’t wear armour.

"Them?" Ge Liang. pointed at the two men.

"They were naughty when they suppose to be watching us at night, their punishment is discarding their amour." Lan Wan said with a smile and the two men without armour turned away in embarrassment because of the lie Lan Wan just told.

"You should minimise the way you talk Lan Wan." Lan Zhang scolded Lan Wan and bent to open one of the boxes.

The Priest and Ge Liang’s questions made Si Ning detect that the Priest was nervous and Ge Liang seemed to want the meeting to end soon since he couldn’t boldly say he killed his niece and her son so according to their code it seemed he must conceal it and Lan Zhang as the Commander must hold a large amount of command that made Ge Liang act politely yet he and the Priest’s face revealed their greed like they just had to thread carefully till they lay their hands upon what they want. Si Ning raised his forefinger and middle finger behind him and two of the men moved over to those bullying the reserved force.

"What do we have here?" One asked in a loud voice.

"Who are they?"

Si Ning could see the men were all in position and they were just six left facing the seven men including Ge Liang it was at that moment Lan Zhan opened the next box.

"When I heard of Mengshu’s death I had to go personally to retrieve her head, you can see it is well preserved, General Si Ning was in a bad shape and only his head could be retrieved." Ge Liang said and clicked his finger, one of the men stepped forward and handed him a sheet of document. "Here is the ownership document, you just need to seal it with the seal and your fingerprint I know the seal is not with you but you will have to get it after seeing the evidence of their deaths."

The head Lan Zhang was now looking at was the head of the man Ge Liang shot down in the pit thinking it was Si Ning, after the check Lan Zhang stood up.

"That doesn’t look like our Young Mistress’s son." Lan Zhang said.

"Oh." Ge Liang almost turned his head one eighty degrees just to look at Lee with a subtle angry expression as an angry aura radiated from him.

"Well, he fits the description," Lee said as he wore a confused expression. "I can show you the site I retrieved the head, he must be among them." He said casually to Lan Zhang.
