Cunning General Si Ning -
Chapter 263: My Love
Chapter 263: My Love
"No!" Xiu Zhicheng yelled out suddenly, his eyes widened in terror as he started breathing a bit hard that his mouth was even opened slightly. He was in a meeting with the Commanders of the Imperial army but the reason why he shouted wasn’t about them or what they were discussing, it was about Si Ning.
One moment Xiu Zhicheng was in the meeting listening attentively as they devise their plans then it gradually became difficult to continue listening because of fatigue and his lack of sleep and for the first time he was unable to keep his eyes open so he felt his eyes shut down and fell into a quick sleep and what did he see the second he closed his eyes, he saw Si Ning lying on the ground, blood gushing out of his mouth as he chokes and he had an arrow protruding from his chest where his heart was and that was the reason Xiu Zhicheng shouted and jerked himself awake even most of the Commanders had no idea that the Emperor fell asleep because it was just a split second.
"Your Majesty is the plan not good?" One of the Commander asked cautiously.
Xiu Zhicheng took a deep breath. "Meeting dismiss." He said and none of the Commanders said a word because when they saw the Emperor’s face they knew they must leave so they all filed out of the room and Lin Fan entered immediately. "Did my message deliver?" He asked as he placed a hand on his chest due to a sharp foreign pain he felt where his heart was located.
"Forgive me Your Majesty but the bird was shot down." Lin Fan replied regretfully.
"What do you mean, the bird was shot down!" Xiu Zhicheng yelled in anger, his eyes burning like fire as he felt his heart beating loudly against his hand that he had to give his chest a few rubs.
"Is Your Majesty doing okay? Should this loyal subject call the Imperial doctor?" Lin Fan asked, his face full of worry because the Emperor was breathing a bit too fast and hard, he also looked to be in pain like a wedge had been dug into his chest. Lin Fan had never seen the Emperor look so tired so he was worried.
It was odd, the heartache was getting worse and for some reason the Emperor of Xilie felt like something bad had happened to Si Ning because it had been weeks since he knew that Si Ning left Zhonghua and he had been restless since then, not concentrating on the meeting, he was always zoning out only to guess what was discussed and he was always right but he was able to perform well when fighting because all he do think about at that time was the faster he cut down his enemies the closer he was to going home to his beloved Si Ning.
The war had been between different sections of the Xiu army attacking Xilie and vice versa. There was no progress in terms of a losing team or a winning team, the both Nations had done a lot of damage to each other, and countless soldiers had lost their lives because whenever they collide the sensible smart General with the smallest army might win or the large army would overcome the other army so both sides keep winning and losing but from what Xiu Zhicheng had seen from the patterns of Xilie’s aggressive attack.
It seems Qiu Bai wants to end the war at once, the reason why it was so was something Xiu Zhicheng was unable to find out so he could only guess that Qiu Bai was impatient or Xilie do not have the resources for them to prolong the war till winter. Winter used to be a deadly season so both Xilie and Xiu had been pushing hard from both sides and Si Ning leaving the palace only made Xiu Zhicheng’s heart to be unsettled because all the messages he wrote telling Si Ning to go back, all the birds that carried the messages kept getting shot down and it was only one message that successfully reached Si Ning and from the reply which was written by his guard, Xiu Zhicheng knew Si Ning had no intention to go back home and this had been giving him headache knowing Si Ning was out there in the open without his army and worst he left Zhonghua with little men.
"Forgive me, Your Majesty that the message for the Empress didn’t deliver, please punish this loyal subject." Lin Fan said with his head bowed deeply showing his deep sign of regret.
"Si Ning! why must he be disobedient!" Xiu Zhicheng sighed as he hit the table, he racked his hand through his hair in frustration. "Why doesn’t he listen to me why can’t he just go home and let me solve this." He stood up and waited then his eyes widened like he realised something.
"Your Majesty needs to get some rest." Lin Fan suggested because Xiu Zhicheng looked tired, his eyes dull, dark circles under his eyes and his appearance had been scaring the army because he looked fierce.
Lin Fan wished the Empress could see the pain he caused the Emperor without knowing and to see how tired his husband was and maybe that might change his mind to go home because Lin Fan fears that the Emperor might collapse at this rate.
"I have to go to him and send him back!" Xiu Zhicheng announced, his face stern like he reached the most reasonable conclusion of what to do about his runaway Empress, he grabbed his coat that was draped on the chair.
"Your Majesty that is impossible, we have to trust the Empress because the Empress is a General and we have to focus on this war, the Imperial army is closing in and we have detected where the Emperor of Xilie is." Lin Fan said briskly, his eyes alarmed because he had no idea how to stop the Emperor, the least he could do was to talk against it.
Xiu Zhicheng thought it over and dropped his coat. "You’re right but Si Ning being out there is making me restless, after I laid my heart to him, he is someone I cannot live without yet he left my protection and came out here." He sighed heavily, it was getting to him, he could never be at rest until he hears from Si Ning.
"Your Majesty." Lin Fan said because Xiu Zhicheng was quiet like he was still contemplating about going to his Empress or not.
"I don’t know why I feel like Si Ning is in danger or he.." Xiu Zhicheng paused not wanting to think of any bad condition Si Ning might be in, his wife was a strong General so he was going to trust him to be safe. "Send a message to one of the Commanders of Si Ning, tell him to find Si Ning immediately with a large army and protect him, that will be his mission and they should go back home, if Si Ning refuses they should tie him up and take him home, they will withdraw from this war until they lock Si Ning safe in the palace."
A Commander of an army couldn’t lock up their General but since the Emperor willed it then the Commander would have no choice but to comply but it would be a difficult task to carry out because a Commander would rather follow their General than follow the Emperor.
"Yes Your Majesty." Lin Fan saluted and left.
Xiu Zhicheng closed his eyes as he thought of his lover’s smile, his gentle gaze, how he blush when they kiss, how he act shy in his arms and moan under him when they make love, he missed him so much that if he knows his Empress won’t stay in Xiu he would have brought him with him then have his way with him every night at least he would know he was safe with him.
Xiu Zhicheng raised his hand to check his ring, he smiled knowing Si Ning had his on his finger, a mark to seal their love according to Si Ning and it was so cute that Xiu Zhicheng smiled a bit and even gave a kiss to his ring. Si Ning was his one and only love, a world without Si Ning was a world he could never imagine so by every means possible he was going to send Si Ning back home, he do not mind leaving the Imperial army if it comes to that but his wife must go back to Xiu at all cost but if he ends up going personally to take his wife then he would love to spend some time to train him in bed and maybe when he was yelling out and wriggling in pleasure then he was going to become obedient.
