"Aish....." Si Ning dipped his fingers into his hair and sat down with his legs wide open just to be in a comfortable position to scratch his hair like he had been doing since he woke up and his scalp was already sore.

They had been on the road for thirteen days and due to Si Ning being in a hurry leaving Xiu with a determined expression like they would meet their enemies within a few hours but for the past ten days they had been in Xiu’s land and hadn’t meet any of Xilie troops and they just left Xiu borders three days yet they still didn’t meet any ambush nor any Xilie soldiers but they were currently in the woods, their camp set up for them to rest and eat before they continue their journey, their target Ge Liang.

Leaving Xiu in a hurry made Si Ning not pack all his beauty products and Xiao Pei that was with him also didn’t know much about the products because they were in cases with no labels he grabbed random things which Si Ning later discovered were his hands, nails and feet kit, due to this Si Ning was unable to wash his body nor his hair to his satisfaction and the last time he had a bath was three days ago, the water was limited so he couldn’t take a long bath nor was he able to wash his hair so the last time he washed his hair just with water was eight days ago and he was unable to wash it thoroughly because he had just a little water and now he had to sit checking the maps while scratching his hair that was itching like a mad man, he started hitting his head yet the itching only became worst.

"General we received a letter from the Imperial mes...." Jiang ChenMu trailed off when he found Si Ning sitting with his hair undone like a curtain almost reaching the ground, checking the mirror while scratching it. "Messanger bird." He completed his statement.

Si Ning could see how dry his hair was, greasy and so dry and it was the first time he would see his hair go that bad and the longest he had stayed without washing his hair. "How far are we to Ge Liang’s post." He asked as he held a strand of hair in his hand watching the sorry case his hair had become.

When they crossed the borders of Xiu, Yi Chen had been directing them to where Ge Liang would be, the army of Ge Liang was split into two, Yi Chen was still able to guess which army Ge Liang followed, to confirm would be difficult or cost them days so Si Ning had to follow Yi Chen intuition and according to Yi Chen after two days he bolded reported they were on the right track.

"If we take the Zang forest we should reach there within five days because they seemed to be moving haphazardly but their direction and aim were to meet part of General Shao Lang’s army that is what I think" Jiang ChenMu replied as he extended the letter to Si Ning.

Si Ning placed the mirror down on the table. "We should set out soon but five days is far so I will search for another alternative route." He said as he turned to focus on the map.

"The only alternative route is the Yin mountain but General knows that it is a dangerous slippery high mountain and only the first Emperor of Xiu and his army were able to cross over it successfully." Jiang ChenMu explained. "It is even said that a blood-sucking demon lives on the mountain."

Eh? What is this? A vampire? Uh

It was not surprising for Si Ning to hear the statement of some blood-sucking demon from Jiang ChenMu because, from Jiang ChenMu’s expression, he seemed to believe it if not he wouldn’t have mentioned it.

"How many days do we reach Ge Liang if we take Yin mountain?" Si Ning asked as he collected the letter from Jiang ChenMu.

"Less than a day." Jiang ChenMu replied.

Si Ning raised the mirror to look at his hair when an idea got to him. "Jiang ChenMu find me something I can trim my hair with."

"Yes General." Jiang ChenMu saluted and left the room.

Si Ning opened the letter to see it was Xiu Zhicheng’s handwriting, it was quite an unexpected letter, he thought it was a letter from Si Nan or Liu MingXia. "Si Ning, you do not belong on the battlefield, you have to go home to take care of the Palace and Xiu, my condolences about your mother but turn back now Si Ning and I will forgive you for your disobedience." It was something Si Ning never expected, he couldn’t believe that all what Xiu Zhicheng cared about was the Palace and Xiu. The most annoying part was that was all Xiu Zhicheng had to say to him.

Si Ning was now angry that Xiu Zhicheng couldn’t see the reason he had to leave the Palace, leave Xiu, leave the Si residence because as a General he would never allow anyone to walk over him and Xilie had stepped all over him so he was going to stomp on them in return. He didn’t even get a thank you for saving the palace, even if it was his duty but he almost died.

Si Ning noticed his hand started to shake again, he doesn’t know if it was the after effect of the poison but he wasn’t about to let anyone know, the least he could do was not to worry anybody especially Song Feng who took it upon himself to change the dressing of the wound he sustained on his arm.

"General." Jiang ChenMu returned holding a small weird shape scissors.

Si Ning collected it and gestured for Jiang ChenMu to leave and when the captain of the reserved force exited the tent. Si Ning took a deep breath and with a determined look he raised a handful of his hair and cut off a chomp, he started chopping all his hair off almost closer to the root, he was almost done when someone came in and he turned to see Yi Chen standing there with eyes widened in disbelief. Si Ning seeing Yi Chen looking shocked was no news because those that keep their hair short were one out of thousands of people and the way he was cutting his hair was shorter than ever, right from birth no one would keep their hair short like that. Si Ning continued cutting his hair until Yi Chen approached him so he stopped and raised a brow as he released the hair he was holding letting it fall on the floor which was now full of a massive length of dark silky hair.

"Second Master let me." Yi Chen said and collected the scissors.

Si Ning watched wondering what Yi Chen was about to do then Yi Chen started to cut his hair, he took his time cutting it, and when he was done, Si Ning was about to stand up only for Yi Chen to take a comb and started to comb Si Ning’s hair wasting time on it that Si Ning almost rolled his eyes and when Yi Chen was done, Si Ning took the mirror to see that his hair was now neatly cut and the style almost seemed like his modern-day style, the front part was longer as a bang, only parted in a semi part but after a shake of his head it was going to cover Si Ning’s forehead completely, the back was trimmed short and now Si Ning could wash his hair with little water.

"Wooo Second Master this is great, you look amazing." Yi Chen commented. "This is a new style, so odd yet so natural, so weird yet so beautiful this is weirdly nice."

Si Ning nodded as he watched Yi Chen start to pack the hair on the floor, it was a shame he had to let it go after he did so much treatment on it to make it that long but it was the effort of Ah Dai and he had no idea if he would ever be able to care for his long hair on his own or a Servant being able to care for it.

At that moment Si Ning took a bowl of water and a little soup then washed his hair into a basin, dried it with a soft cloth only for Yi Chen to comb it again after Yi Chen was done Si Ning head out.

The moment Si Ning stepped out of the tent, the plate of fried meat Jiang ChenMu was holding fell and crashed on the floor the soldiers’ present eyes were enlarged in shock as they stared at what they don’t know whether to consider nice or call an abomination because ninety percent of their General’s hair was gone yet it looked so nice they couldn’t help but admire their General looks, they couldn’t imagine anyone pulling it off other than him.

"Gen.. Gen..eral..." Jiang ChenMu stammered.

"We will all set for the Yin mountain!" Si Ning announced. "The enemies will never expect us to take this route but we will take it and meet them half a day to crush them to pieces!"

"Yeeeeee...." The small troops yelled out in jubilation as they jumped up immediately to start to pack up.
