"Your Majesty take this pill for pain relieve, one in the morning, one in the afternoon, and one at night." The Imperial Doctor said showing the dark bottle to Si Ning then he brought out a transparent bottle from his bag. "This one is sleeping pills, if Your Majesty has trouble with sleeping, your Majesty has to take two at night." He instructed.

"Hmm." Si Ning affirmed as he watched the Imperial Doctor shake a little in fear just by hearing Si Ning before placing the two bottles on the small tray on the desk.

The Imperial Doctor then brought out another bottle and shook out two pills. "Take this, Your Majesty." He said.

Si Ning looked at the pill suspiciously. "What does it do?" He had to ask because if the Imperial Doctor wants to trick him into taking a sleeping pill then he had made a mistake.

"It is a formula I have tested for months now and it is to replenish the lost blood." The Imperial Doctor replied.

Si Ning took the pills only to see the Imperial Doctor shake a little, he threw it in his mouth and swallowed as he collected the cup of water the Imperial Doctor gave him, he drank a little and felt the urge to throw the porcelain cup at the wall but he restrained himself and gave the cup back to the Imperial Doctor.

When Si Ning left the court meeting, he didn’t go to his Palace instead he went to the Zhonghua Palace, it was only the Emperor that could use it but when the guards saw Si Ning coming with his impassive expression, holding his sword stained with blood like he was on a killing spree and guards with a lot of high-level soldiers walking behind him. The guards guarding the Zhonghua palace parted straight up and opened the door and it was when Si Ning got to the nap room with a daybed and sat on the bed that Jiang ChenMu went to call the Imperial Doctor to treat him but first Si Ning took a quick bath washing away all his sweat and the blood as he didn’t allow water to touch the cut on his arm, he tried to make his head blank so he didn’t shed a tear during his bath and came out to see the Imperial Doctor waiting for him so he sat on the bed and watched the Imperial Doctor quickly laid out his tools and treated him.

Since then Si Ning noticed everybody seemed to be walking on eggshells around him and he badly wanted to wear a friendly face but when he smiled at the Imperial Doctor, he only made the latter feel uncomfortable because Si Ning was unable to smile genuinely, his smile was crooked just like how a wicked person would smile so at once point Si Ning decided just to accept his anger and stay angry. He watched the Imperial Doctor bowed when he was done packing out and he quickly left the room by walking backward till he was out like he was afraid Si Ning might throw him a dagger if he turn his back.

It was almost dawn so Xiao Pei and Yi Chen left Jiang Ye in the treatment room with Song Feng after confirming that Song Feng was going to treat him first even though the rest of the Ministers seemed like they would die any second but Song Feng only stopped their bleeding then began his treatment on Jiang Ye. Xiao Pei and Yi Chen walked so fast till they got to the Zhonghua Palace and the day room to see that Si Ning had been tended to, they both tried to ignore the bad mood in the air as they waited for Si Ning’s orders while Jiang ChenMu sat properly by the table polishing Si Ning’s sword. From what Si Ning said they would go and join the war soon with the reserved force so they needed to get ready.

Si Ning closed his eyes and took a deep breath, his eyes weren’t red anymore but the anger layered on them could be seen clearly as a day. "Send Ah Dai home and arrange his funeral but I will not bury my mother without her complete body and also burn Yang Sheng’s body after cutting it into pieces." He told them when he opened his eyes, he slipped his hands into the outer coat Xiao Pei held out for him.

Yi Chen and Xiao Pei bowed then left to carry his orders. Jiang ChenMu on the other hand was done polishing the sword so he kept it in its sheath and went to keep it beside Si Ning then he stepped back and opened his mouth then closed it, he repeated it a few times like he wanted to say something, Si Ning saw him but ignored him not having the energy to ask what Jiang ChenMu want to say but one thing he knows was that if it was important Jiang ChenMu would say it in the end.

A funeral would take all day, Si Ning would have to wear white and accept people’s condolences throughout the whole day which he had no time for because he would never sit there holding a funeral for an incomplete body. He couldn’t help but think his mother would be in pain looking for her head in the afterlife. That was much more painful than being dead itself, Si Ning could feel it, a part of his heart had been cut off and he felt dead and empty inside, his title, his robe, his commands didn’t make him feel better nor fill up the empty space within him and he knew he would have to live like that forever but at that moment he wasn’t vulnerable nor did he think he needs Xiu Zhicheng, he was going to execute everything himself and first kill that man called Ge Liang before going for Qiu Bai, no matter what, he would make sure he sees the two heads on his table.

"Your Majesty the third Concubine Liu is here to see you!" Steward Yu announced but Concubine Liu had already entered the room.

"Elder brother." Liu MingXia was now properly dressed in female attire, looking so clean no one would have guessed she was fighting with a sword a few hours ago. Her appearance made Jiang ChenMu go and sit down right beside the table and now he had nothing to do. "Elder brother, they told me you placed me, the Prime Minister, and The Imperial Tutor in charge of the Palace and the whole of Xiu because you are going to war." It wasn’t a question.

"I am sure you will do the work well." Si Ning said, his voice low as he tried to sound like himself because he doesn’t want to scare Liu MingXia, he clenched his hands, his hands had been shaking for some while so he was trying to keep them still and it was proving hard to do. Liu MingXia was a Princess so she would at least know the basics about ruling a Nation, when Xiao Pei told Si Ning about her, Si Ning knew the wild Princess wasn’t only wild but clever so she might have picked up a book or two about the ruling of a Nation.

"Elder brother I rather go to war, please let me go to war and fight beside you, tonight I was able to fight once for real so I have to face situations like this to get my martial art well." Liu MingXia fell to her knees. "Please let me go to war, I beg you." She said wearing a serious expression as she placed her two palms together as a begging sign.

Si Ning sighed and shook his head, he hid his hands under his sleeves. "I need you to stay here in the Palace, run Xiu and the Palace, it’s quite difficult that is why I selected three people so you can consult the others." He explained calmly.

"Elder brother but I want to fight! Please I beg you." Liu MingXia complained that she even kowtowed.

"Staying here is also a means of fighting because you will defend the Nation and make sure something like what happened tonight never happens again." Si Ning snapped as he banged his hand on the desk, his eyes widened as he took a deep breath, he had finally done it, shouted at Liu MingXia and when Liu MingXia raised her head he was expecting to see her scared expression but her expression was impassive that she even shook her head to refuse, he was starting to feel frustrated when he wondered if this was how Xiu Zhicheng felt when he kept on rejecting the idea of staying.

"Your Majesty the...."

Before Liu MingXia could say a word of complaint and the Head Eunuch could complete the announcement, Queen Dowager entered the room. Jiang ChenMu and Liu MingXia turned to see that she wore an extremely angry expression, her eyes round, her stance to show she was on a mission as she stared at Si Ning with hatred.
