Crimson Moon Redemption: My Alpha's Brutal Mistake -
Chapter 65: You are my Luna (Alpha Zach)
Chapter 65: You are my Luna (Alpha Zach)
"What does your wolf say?" he asked. I tried to reach Tubal, but he was silent. "Tubal is silent about this," I relayed. Gaius seemed to have it all figured out.
"That’s because of the spell. It’s stronger on him than it is on you. That’s why you sometimes have clarity, but with the most important matters concerning the heart, you are still trapped."
I wanted to argue, but he was making so much sense that I couldn’t. So I asked, "So what do you want me to do?"
"Please give it time and be polite with your twin brother," he advised. I found it wise. After taking his advice, it took two months after the pandemic before Zion agreed to let me inside his tribe.
There were still urgent issues pertaining to my tribe, but I now knew that the solution lay with Annabelle, my mate.
All that we were going through was because of wrongfully accusing her, since it was not yet time for the original curse of not finding her to take effect.
Arriving at the Lunar Echoes tribe, I realized how much had changed. Prosperity was indeed their pride, as the difference from the last time I visited was striking. No one stopped me, but the polite greetings I received indicated they mistook me for Zion.
It was only at the packhouse that the truth came to light. "Alpha Zach is here again. Is it because of Bella?" one warrior whispered, while another seemed puzzled. "Isn’t it Alpha Zion? He promised Alpha Zach would never set foot..." Before he could finish, Zion appeared to welcome me.
Despite being brothers, our relationship was strained, and I was at his mercy. "Zach, let’s talk inside," he said, and I followed him in. The whispers of the warriors didn’t concern me.
The packhouse, like my tribe, had undergone changes, showing that transformation was not limited to my own territory. Thank you for allowing me to come in, Zion. I just want to see Belle. I know I have wronged her, although she shares some of the blame."
Zion’s eyes flashed with anger. "If I had known you were still holding onto this, I wouldn’t have allowed you to come back after the months I gave you to reflect on your actions. You seemed repentant then, but now you’re back to being the arrogant twin brother I remember."
His words stung, but I tried not to show it and asked, "I’m here because you invited me. Can I go to the small house? I promise not to cause any trouble," I assured him, but he shook his head.
"It’s up to you. I brought Belle and her pup here, but if she refuses to forgive you, that’s your problem."
I knew she wouldn’t forgive me, so I needed his help. "Please, Zion, I need your help with this. I can forgive you for taking my place if you help me with Belle." A frustrated sigh escaped him as he looked around nervously. "What took you so long? Well, it’s too late now."
"No, my pup needs me," I pleaded, but he shook his head. "He’s being taken good care of, and I already accepted him as mine. My mate wouldn’t mind."
Hearing that he found his mate gave me a sigh of relief. "You found your mate? That’s great news. Why haven’t I heard about her coronation?"
I strongly felt it was because of Belle but allowed him to explain. "It’s a whole lot, Zach. I..."
The sound of a broken vase drew our attention to an awkward movement upstairs, and as soon as I raised my head, our eyes met. The maids ascended the stairs to clean the broken pieces of the vase on the floor.
"Since when did they begin to agree with each other?" Her cold voice sounded from the top of the stairs as she elegantly descended, and my heart stopped.
Why didn’t I feel this way before? Perhaps she finally has her wolf now. ’She’s our mate. We finally found her,’ Tubal said excitedly, igniting my anger towards him.
’Where have you been?’ He has been so inconsistent lately, and if it weren’t for meeting our mate, he would still be unreachable.
Belle walked past me and gazed at Zion with disappointment. "I guess it’s time for me to leave."
Zion appeared exhausted as she made her way to the door, but I swiftly intercepted her and blocked the entrance. "We need to talk."
’Our mate is upset, but she’s not alone,’ Tubal remarked, leaving me puzzled. ’What do you mean?’
’She’s different. Someone else is vying for our position,’ he disclosed, causing my heart to sink and my envy to bleed.
Just as I was about to inquire further, Belle’s voice cut through the air coldly. "I don’t know who you are, and we have nothing to talk about. Now move." She was no longer afraid of me, but as I gazed into her cold eyes, all I felt was regret, pain, and desperation.
"I’m sorry for misjudging you and not realizing you were the girl I slept with and the one who saved me. You didn’t have to go through the pregnancy alone."
A mocking smile played on her lips. "Don’t pretend. I told you numerous times that I was innocent and the one who saved you, but you just mocked me."
Her words triggered a memory of her hair, the same blonde strands I had seen before. As if reading my thoughts, she removed her wig, revealing her stunning red hair. It wasn’t as long as that night, but the texture and shine were identical.
"Did you cut it?" I inquired.
"We’re not friends," she replied coldly. "Since you’re here, do me a favor and accept my rejection because I’m tired of bearing this mark."
I must have wronged her, but that didn’t mean I would accept her rejection. "I’ll leave you two," Zion interjected, making an excuse as he hurried up the stairs, and I smiled at her. She was stunningly beautiful, even when angry, and I realized I had never truly appreciated her before.
’Don’t mess things up, Zach. She has many options,’ Tubal warned me, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that she belonged to me, especially since we had a pup together.
"You don’t have to act this way. I forgive you for what you did to Iris. Let’s take our pup and return to the Crimson Moon Tribe. You are my Luna," I pleaded.
Despite my height, I was taken aback by the precision of the slap she delivered to my face. It felt like being struck by multiple Alphas.
