Chapter 25: Have you got your wolf yet(Annabelle)

Moon’s confession mirrored the events that unfolded at the Crimson Moon tribe, where they orchestrated a plan to frame me and deliver me into the clutches of the monstrous Alpha Zach, similar to what happened to Iris.

As doubts crept in, I couldn’t help but question Ivy’s involvement in her twin sister’s corpse’s disappearance. The pieces didn’t fit together, and the demands Ivy made of Alpha Zion made it clear that he wouldn’t be able to save me.

Despite the looming threat of death, I was determined to uncover the truth. Before Alpha Zion could intervene, I spoke up, "Ivy, the setup you orchestrated is reminiscent of what occurred at the Crimson Moon tribe."

Ivy’s eyes blazed with anger as she retorted, "You, a fatuous omega, have no right to address someone of my status. Do you wish to meet your end?"

"Enough, Ivy," Alpha Zion interjected, surprising everyone. "Bella is a valued member of our tribe, and you have no authority to speak to her in such a manner. Furthermore, how did you manage to conceal your scent? I couldn’t detect it."

Ivy’s eyes welled up with tears. "Zion, what are you saying? Are you choosing her over me? Aren’t there herbs to hide one’s scent? I have chosen you over Zach countless times," she said. Alpha Zion’s gaze softened, but his stance remained unchanged.

"Bella made a point. She claimed she didn’t push Iris and only wanted to help her, yet Iris fell on her own and Bella was blamed. Isn’t that similar to what you instructed Moon to do?

Moon slapped herself and dropped the pastries, then blamed Bella. Ivy, I am the only one with access to the security footage here, so think carefully before you speak."

Ivy’s expression was inscrutable, but as the silence lingered, she sighed and said, "Release these people. I will take the blame and keep Zach in the dark, but if you harm them, I will ensure that all the packs declare war on ours."

She was clearly behind the setup, but why? "Why did you set me up?" I asked directly. She smiled at me, but it was a bitter smile.

"I don’t know what you’re talking about, but maybe I can help investigate the matter if you give me a drop of your blood," she said.

As she spoke, her eyes changed from their blue color to a dark hue before returning to blue. Ivy didn’t seem to be who she appeared to be, and I refused to give her my blood.

"Why do you want her blood?" Alpha Zion asked, voicing the question on my mind. She smiled. "Since you defied Zach’s orders to take her in, I owe you no explanation."

It was amusing how she was twisting everything around. Alpha Zion looked confused and was likely searching for a way out, but I pleaded with him. "Can I make a suggestion?"

He stared at me and smiled as I pondered what to say. "At this moment, I doubted my ability to defend myself against Alpha Zach, so I preferred to keep my whereabouts unknown to him.

These individuals will serve as Ivy’s spies, but if I can improve my combat skills against Alpha Zach, I will be able to confront them as well.

"I forgive them, Alpha Zion. Please refrain from punishing them."

Anger flashed in his eyes as he replied, "You need not fear Zach. I will shield you from him."

However, I knew it would only lead to another conflict between twin brothers. "No, Alpha Zion, please let this go."

His teeth clenched as he glared at them. "Very well, you will not be banished..." excitement gleamed in the eyes of those involved, and Ivy showed relief, but Alpha Zion was not finished.

"However, you will assume omega responsibilities for a full moon." Their expressions dropped as they walked away with lowered heads. Alpha Zion fixed his gaze on Ivy and said, "You are grounded for a full moon. You are not to leave your room until then."

However, Ivy shook her head and said, "I will only accept the punishment if you make her leave. If not, I would rather return to the Crimson Moon tribe or live as a lone wolf for the rest of my life."

"You can’t go back to the Crimson Moon tribe," I interjected. Alpha Zion looked at me as I explained, "She will inform Alpha Zach."

Ivy smiled and said, "I already sent a telegram because I couldn’t reach him through the mindlink. Whoever finds it will decide what to do with the information."

A pang of pain shot through my heart as Ivy shifted into her wolf form and dashed into the woods. Despite my pleas, Alpha Zion did not stop her. "She’s your sister. You can’t just let her go."

"She made her choice, but as for you, I think it’s time." There was pain in his eyes, but he made no attempt to send warriors to protect his sister.

Then a strange fear crept into me. How was Ivy able to travel alone through the territory of all those rogues? Then again, she also desired my blood.

Something was not adding up, but now that I had Alpha Zion’s support, I could use my wages from what I’d earn from my services to investigate the matter.

Ivy, Iris, and Kari were strange she-wolves, hiding something I was dying to uncover. Unease flung me as I asked eagerly, "Time for what?"

"Time to face your fears. Tomorrow, you shall join the tribe members training, but before then, we can practice today."

The fact that he wanted to practice alone with me made me suspicious. I pointed out, "You are an Alpha with so many responsibilities. Please assign me a warrior to help me train."

The look in his eyes made me regret my words, but he suddenly glared at me. "Earlier, I saw you clutching your stomach. Are you in pain? Your bruises. They all healed. Wait, have you got your wolf yet?"
