Chapter 108: Baekhyum and Seulgi
As the evening settled in, Haeun found himself curled up on the couch with Suho, who was enthusiastically showing off his latest drawing. It was a colorful mess of crayon strokes, but in the center was a figure that was clearly supposed to be Haeun, standing beside a much taller figure—Yeongsoo.
"This is you," Suho explained, pointing at the smaller figure. "And this is Yeongsoo hyung. And this—" He gestured to a little scribble between them. "This is mini Mino!"
Haeun’s heart clenched at the sight. "Mini Mino?"
"That’s what I’m calling the baby," Suho said matter-of-factly. "Because I don’t know their name yet."
Yeongsoo, who had just walked in with a glass of water for Haeun, chuckled. "Mini Mino, huh? That’s cute."
Haeun felt warmth spread through him as he ran a hand over Suho’s hair. "It’s perfect."
Suho grinned proudly, then suddenly yawned. His energy was finally wearing out.
"I think it’s bedtime for you, little man," Yeongsoo said, scooping Suho up despite the boy’s weak protests. "Say goodnight to Haeun."
"Goodnight, Haeun hyung," Suho mumbled sleepily, already nestling against Yeongsoo’s shoulder.
"Goodnight, Suho."
Once Yeongsoo had taken Suho to bed, Haeun remained on the couch, staring at the drawing in his lap. His fingers traced over the crayon lines, lingering on the little scribble representing their baby.
A soft sigh escaped his lips as he leaned back. His therapy session still lingered in his mind. It wasn’t going to be easy, but...
He wanted to do better. For himself. For his family.
A moment later, he felt the couch dip beside him. Yeongsoo was back, watching him carefully.
"What are you thinking about?" he asked.
Haeun hesitated, then held up the drawing with a small smile. "Mini Mino."
Yeongsoo chuckled and wrapped an arm around his shoulder. "They’re lucky to have you."
Haeun leaned into his warmth. "You think so?"
"I know so."
Haeun hummed as he looked at the drawing again. "You know... I actually really like the name Mini Mino," he admitted, glancing up at Yeongsoo.
Yeongsoo raised an amused brow. "Oh? Should we make it official?"
Haeun smirked. "Not quite. But... I was thinking. If it’s a boy, we should name him Baekhyun—inspired by white lilies. And if it’s a girl, Seulgi—it has a soft and sweet sound."
Yeongsoo stared at him. "So, flower symbolism for the boy and just... a really cute name for the girl?"
Haeun gasped dramatically, clutching his chest. "Baekhyun symbolizes purity and light! And Seulgi—it just feels right, okay?"
Yeongsoo tried to keep a straight face but failed. He snorted. "So we’re naming our kid after elegance and vibes?"
Haeun pouted. "It’s cute!"
Yeongsoo shook his head in amusement before pulling him closer, pressing a quick kiss to his temple. "Alright, alright. If it makes you happy, we’ll put Baekhyun and Seulgi on the list."
Haeun beamed. "Good. Because Mini Mino deserves a name with meaning!"
"Mini Mino is literally just a nickname that Suho came up with," Yeongsoo pointed out.
"And yet," Haeun said, tilting his chin up, "it already has a special place in my heart."
Yeongsoo sighed, but his expression was fond. "I swear, sometimes you’re worse than Suho."
Haeun grinned, poking his side. "You love it."
"I do," Yeongsoo admitted, resting his forehead against Haeun’s. "And I love you."
Haeun felt warmth spread through him, and for a moment, all his worries melted away. "I love you too," he murmured.
They sat there for a while, wrapped up in each other’s presence, until—
Yeongsoo suddenly snickered. "You know, Seulgi still kind of sounds like the name of a cute puppy."
Haeun gasped. "Take that back!"
Haeun narrowed his eyes, poking Yeongsoo’s chest. "Seulgi is a lovely name, thank you very much."
Yeongsoo chuckled, wrapping an arm around Haeun’s waist and pulling him onto the couch. "I never said it wasn’t. I just meant that if we get a dog in the future, Seulgi would be a cute name for it too."
Haeun gasped, placing a dramatic hand over his stomach. "How dare you try to name my child after a dog?"
Yeongsoo grinned. "I’m just saying, if we do end up with a Baekhyun, you’re going to have to stop calling him ’Mini Mino’ when he’s older, or he’s going to be very confused."
Haeun huffed, crossing his arms. "I’ll stop when he’s like... 10, 30...."
"How about never?" Yeongsoo scoffed. "I bet you’ll still be calling him Mini Mino when he’s married."
"I will not!"
"You totally will."
Haeun pouted. "Fine. Then I’ll just stick to Baekhyun. It’s a nice name. Classic. Elegant. And not a dog’s name."
Yeongsoo rolled his eyes, but there was amusement dancing in them. "Alright, alright. Baekhyun and Seulgi are officially on the list. But if we’re going with flower meanings, what if we consider Jinhwan?"
Haeun tilted his head. "Jinhwan?"
"It means ’treasured blossom.’ Sounds meaningful, right?"
Haeun thought about it for a moment before nodding. "Okay... I actually like that."
Yeongsoo smirked. "I actually got you to agree on a name?"
"Don’t push it," Haeun muttered. "We’re still keeping Baekhyun and Seulgi on top."
Yeongsoo chuckled, tightening his arm around Haeun. "Alright, alright. I won’t fight you on it... for now."
Haeun huffed, but his lips twitched as he fought back a smile. "Good. Because I’m not changing my mind."
They sat there in silence for a few moments, the warmth between them was comforting. Haeun let out a soft sigh and leaned his head against Yeongsoo’s shoulder.
"I’m going to stop by the company tomorrow," he murmured. "Just to check on things... and see my brother."
Yeongsoo glanced down at him. "You sure about that?"
Haeun nodded. "Yeah. I’ve been out of the loop for too long. And besides, Taeun’s been adjusting well, but I still want to see him myself."
Yeongsoo hummed. "I get it. But don’t push yourself, alright? You don’t have to prove anything to anyone."
"I know," Haeun said, and for once, he actually meant it. He wasn’t going because he felt pressured or guilty. He was going because he wanted to.
Because he missed his brother. Because a part of him still cared about the company, even if he wasn’t sure how he fit into it anymore.
Yeongsoo kissed the top of his head. "Then I’ll drop you off in the morning."
Haeun lifted his head, blinking. "You don’t have to."
"I know. But I want to."
A slow smile spread across Haeun’s face. "You’re kind of perfect, you know that?"
"Tell me something I don’t know," Yeongsoo teased, earning an eye roll before Haeun leaned up and kissed him.
It was soft, lingering, filled with an unspoken gratitude.
When they pulled away, Yeongsoo brushed a thumb over Haeun’s cheek. "Now, let’s get you to bed. You’ve got a big day tomorrow, and I don’t want you passing out in the middle of the office."
Haeun snorted. "Please. I survived years of corporate nonsense. I think I can handle one visit."
