Chapter 94: Chapter 94: OUR MOTHER!

Briar wasn’t expecting to see Eugene out of all of Lyra’s friends.

Eugene was the outspoken of them all and she was too good with her words. However, she was no longer in the state of trying to please the children, especially their friends, just like when she was the nanny.

She was someone whose last name, when changed, would be Meyer, so why bother fawning on a teen?

When Lyra saw Eugene, she felt like she had seen her savior. She couldn’t help but look at her with sparkling eyes, calling out, "Eugene! There you are!"

Eugene, having no clue as to why her friend was acting strangely, especially with that happy tone, could only smile brightly as she played along.

"Yep. Didn’t expect to meet everyone here!" she said smilingly, her gaze landing on Briar, who exuded elegance, especially with that harmless smile on her face.

Lyra knew what her nosy friend was thinking already, so she hurriedly explained, "Um. The second mother is feeling better now. So, she is sending us back to school." Her statement shocked Eugene and Briar simultaneously.

Both of them were not expecting Lyra to announce the relationship so openly like that. Briar was so happy, but she contained herself and Eugene was so deadly curious about what Briar did to make Lyra accept reality so fat.

Unfortunately, she wasn’t given time to brand her claws, as Lyra said to Briar, "Second mother, we won’t forget what you have said. Don’t keep Tiana waiting. We can’t have her arriving late, can we?"

When Briar heard that, she smiled wryly, remembering that there was still someone to be sent to school. She looked at Lyra and Cade but didn’t bother with Eugene and solemnly reminded, "You know what to do right if anything goes wrong?"

Lyra and Cade both looked at each other and smiled knowingly before looking back to Briar and nodded.

"Don’t worry, second mother. It’s been etched in our memories. There is no way we can forget that."

Only after getting such assurance did Briar reluctantly bid them farewell before returning to the limo.

As for Lyra, Cade and Eugene. The three of them watched as the limo left before they started walking into the campus.

On their way, Eugene couldn’t hold herself anymore, so she directly asked, "What’s going on? Is she treating you well? She isn’t playing any games, right?"

She was still worried about her friend. Stepmothers and mistresses were very scary. Those people have doctorates in being green teas and know how to act like white lotuses as if they were born like that.

She was very worried that her friend might fall for such tricks and end up suffering in the future.

However, the two’s answers stunned her.

"Hehe, we can worry about anyone but now her," Lyra chuckled slyly as she recalled something.

Cade, on the other side, nodded as well.

If there was anyone scheming, it would be his father and the rest of the family. Only she was the innocent one and probably the person they should be feeling sorry for.

"She is our mother! The one who cares for us most!"

Eugene obviously didn’t understand what these siblings were saying, but what she could tell was that they had accepted her as their stepmother and nothing would change.

Since it was like that, then she might as well try to accept the other. It wasn’t like if she didn’t like her, the family would throw her away and rid of her. She would just keep an open mind and keep her eyes open as well. Just in case.

On Briar’s side, after dropping the two, she took Tiana to her school. When they arrived, she picked up the little girl’s bag and passed it to her.

She carried the food bag before alighting the car with Tiana following her.

Once they were out of the car, Tiana carried her bag and followed Briar, who held the food bag while chattering like always.

Whenever she was with Tiana, her smile never faded, especially now that she was no longer notorious.

When they reached the gate, Briar handed the food bag over to Tiana, who happily took it.

Briar raised her hand and started patting her head without messing the hair playfully saying, "Darling, remember to behave in class. Listen to your teachers and don’t mess around. If possible, bring me a star. It’s been ages since you brought one!"

Tiana stuck her tongue playfully at Briar when she said that, but still dutifully promised to behave.

After telling the little girl what should be said, she was about to send her off when a familiar childish voice called Tiana.

When she saw the other, a smile blossomed on her face.

It was Kelly, Dave’s daughter. It’s been a while since she saw the pair of father and daughter.

"How are you, aunty?" Kelly respectfully greeted as soon as she was standing close to Tiana.

Briar smiled at Kelly, her eyes oozing with love. Those who love her children are angels in her eyes, so how could she not like Kelly?

"I am good, Kelly and yourself?"

"I am doing fine, Aunty!"

"That’s good!" Briar answered the little girl before looking at Dave, who was looking at her smilingly.

"Dave!" she greeted smilingly with a nod and he returned the greeting. "Briar. How have you been?"

Briar knew what the man was talking about, so she readily responded, "I am doing well. Thanks for asking."

When Dave heard that, he breathed a sigh of relief.

The two didn’t continue the chat as they looked at the children and urged them to go inside.

"I will come and pick you up later. Don’t forget what you promised!" Briar didn’t forget to remind Tiana once it was time to go.

Tiana obediently nodded her head, saying, "Don’t worry, second mother. I will not forget!"

Briar smiled happily when she heard that. She didn’t know if Tiana would follow her words, but she at least hoped that the child she raised wouldn’t let her down and embarrass her. That would make her a failure of a mother.

Briar acknowledged her little ancestor’s words before sending her off.
