Chapter 90: Chapter 90: FRIENDSHIP RING

Two hours after the banquet ended, Briar heaved with relief as she watched the car leaving the mansion. That was her mother-in-law being sent to the ancestral home.

She had truly overexerted herself and just wanted to take a well-needed rest.

Watching her heaving with relief was Logan, who chuckled amusingly, finding her reaction very cute and pretty too much honest.

He never expected her to be so tired and act the way she did. Others would pretend to be fine, and yet she was doing the opposite.

"Mother is gone. Let’s go inside. You need to rest!" Logan called out to Briar, who turned around to face him with a shy expression.

"You ...."

Logan dotingly smiled at her without saying a word while stretching his hand towards her, his meaning pretty clear.

Briar, who hadn’t seen her husband for hours, threw away all the shyness, picked her dress and skipped happily to where he was standing.

When she reached him, she dropped the hem of the dress and placed her small hand in his with a smile on her face.

"Let’s go!" she urged as she started moving, pulling Logan with him.

Logan chuckled lightly as he got pulled gently by his young wife. Because she used her left hand to pull him, he couldn’t help but notice the additional jewelry that wasn’t there when she left. A titanium ring on her finger.

Where did she get it?

He couldn’t help but ask, "Dear, where did you get the ring?" adopting the approach of when you are in doubt, ask.

Rather than dying of unnecessary curiosity and being filled with numerous suspicions. It was better to ask directly and get the answers.

Briar didn’t flinch when she heard the question, but answered, "Oh this? I got it from Bertha. It’s a gift for recuperating well," lying with a straight face.

When Logan heard that, he couldn’t help but be surprised. "You mean the doctor?"

Briar nodded as she answered, "Yes. We have become good friends. Tomorrow, I shall be having lunch with her. She is good!" her tone was laced with immense happiness.

When Logan heard that, a smile involuntarily appeared on his face. That doctor was a good person. He saved Briar when she was at her worst. So having Briar be friends with her wouldn’t be a bad idea.

"Okay, it’s good having more friends," he said approvingly.

Briar turned her head briefly to look at him with a grin on her face and said, "Indeed. I have a few friends. Now I can add Bertha to the small list. I will have to introduce Vivian to Bertha one day."

Logan nodded, recalling Vivian, who had been playing with Briar ever since they were teens. The two had been best friends for eight years. She was the only friend of Briar he had seen. Even at school, she didn’t have any close friends.

It was time for her to add a few more.

Seeing Logan not against her idea, she pumped her fists triumphantly inwardly. Now she no longer needed to hide her relationship with her CIRCLE friends. The friends who would walk in fire and ice for her. That was the bond that exists between them all and this ring, proved that.

Since she returned late, the kids were sleeping and the only people awake were Logan and some servants.

Briar was full, so she didn’t need to eat another meal. She brought Logan to the master bedroom, where she started fighting off with the makeup.

That was why she really didn’t like putting on makeup. It overworks people all the time.

Logan watched helplessly as Briar mumbled furiously while wiping the make-up from her face. His lips twitched as he could hear the words she was mumbling.

There weren’t many things that made her get irritated like this and yet this one had done it. He couldn’t help but want to see her in such a state again.

It took Briar thirty minutes before she got rid of all the extra chemicals from her face.

Once she was done, she went to take a warm shower and got rid of the fatigue from all the standing and liaising she did on that day.

Once she was done, she wore a silk pajama. The short and tank top kind before joining Logan, who was sitting on the bed with a laptop in hand. She didn’t know what he was looking at, but he should be dealing with work again.

When Logan heard Briar’s footsteps, he paused at what he was doing and looked at his young wife, whom he had shared the bed with for months and yet their progress was slow as a snail.

His gaze scanned her from the head, which no longer shined since hair was growing, and then stopped briefly around her small waist, where he could see those beads that always pull him whenever he saw them.

Something about them made him want to lose control, and yet at the thought of her removing them, he felt unwilling.

He felt curious about them. He wanted to know what these beads were for and if there was anything more to it.

So, when Briar, who was unaware of how her marriage beads had caused turmoil in Logan’s heart, joined Logan on the bed, she found herself being asked a question. Which made her recall how she forgot to explain some issues to Logan when she returned from the village.

Briar turned around to face Logan directly while she was sitting in a lotus position. She looked at him directly, an affectionate gaze which didn’t hide her immense love for him, making Logan feel very proud once again.

"Hubby!" she called out to him softly as she stretched her hands towards him.

In these past few days, Logan was experiencing new things every single day. He wasn’t sure where she ate the gall bladder of a tiger for her to be so daring like that.

However, he loved how she had changed. It scratched his heart like a kitten; he craved for more.

Maybe it was because of the treatment which got rid of some of her memories and now he was benefiting from the side effects.

He didn’t know what was truly happening, but he was loving it.

And it would even be better if she made a move and helped both of them out of their misery.

His ego needed a bit of flaring.

How could he start her when she wanted him badly, the way he was seeing it?
