Chapter 63: Chapter 63: PROTECTING HIS FAMILY BY ALL MEANS!

Logan caressed Briar’s forehead affectionately as he looked at the sleeping lady. After crying her heart out, she passed out.

Thankfully, she was just tired and there was nothing serious. For a moment there, they panicked, wondering if something had happened to her again.

Now that she was sleeping, it was out of the question that she had to be discharged. Besides, that plan of his, he needed to get it into motion. But how could he do so when she was discharged?

He might as well do it when she was like this.

After making sure that she was sleeping, he tucked her in and planted a kiss on her forehead, not disgusted by the bandaged area or the bald patch on her head.

Hearing her soft snoring, Logan boasted inwardly how fortunate he was in this life to come across a wife like Briar.

Logan shortly after, left the ward and joined his family members who were outside of the ward.

Alice had rushed to the hospital, but when she arrived, Briar was getting checked by the doctors after passing out.

Since she was sleeping, Alice couldn’t see her. Besides, there was a risk that she might get too excited or agitated if she saw Alice. So, the doctor advised them to not have her excited that often. Otherwise, anything might happen despite the diagnosis that she was fine earlier.

"Is she asleep?" Madam Meyer asked, more of a statement, though.

Logan put his hands in his pocket as he nodded and answered, "Um. She will be sleeping for a while now."

Upon hearing that, she heaved a sigh of relief. She had been scared for a moment there. Thankfully, the other was resting now.

"So, what do you plan to do?" Madam Meyer asked, next recalling what the doctor had said before he left.

Logan’s eyes flashed as that plan of his emerged in his head once again.

Seeing him like that, Madam Meyer knew that he had a plan. She couldn’t help but be curious.

Alice, though, was the first to ask, "Brother, what do you plan to do? Could it be that I must excuse myself all the time whenever Briar comes home?" her tone was aggrieved.

She didn’t mean that to happen. She just wanted to make up for the lost time and know Briar better. But now, it seems that she might not be able to do so.

What if ....?

She didn’t dare think much.

Logan was also worried about that matter. It wasn’t like he could keep Briar from the public.

In the future, because of the title that she carries of being his wife and future Meyer matriarch, she would attract hate left and right. She might get too excited or agitated. When that happens ..... no, he didn’t want to think further.

He might as well stop that from happening.

So, he looked at his mother and sister and said, "I am thinking of letting her get shock therapy." His tone was serious.

"What?" Madam Meyer exclaimed in shock before covering her mouth as she looked at her son disbelievingly.

Did it reach this point?

Even Alice was quite taken aback by what she was hearing.

"Brother .. you .... It’s not like Briar has some issues there, right?" she asked doubtfully as she pointed to her head.

She might be in shock right now, but that didn’t mean that she had mental issues which required any sort of treatment.

Logan understood that his method was a bit over the board, but when he thought of the secrets that Briar knew, he wasn’t at ease at all.

His desire to protect his family was greater than that of his heart.

If he were to choose between family and love, he would choose family without missing a beat.

However, he was a greedy and selfish person. To let someone like Briar who treats him like her whole world after experiencing how deceitful Selena was. He couldn’t just let her go or lose her.

And the best way to have both of the worlds was to nip the bud before it blooms.

"Mother, I want her to forget anything that could be of threat to the family. Selena’s matter is a time bomb. As long as she forgets all the severe memories about her, she would be perfect," he didn’t forget to remind them, especially seeing how they were sympathizing with Briar now.

Surely, when the two heard that, their eyes narrowed and darkened as they recalled that troublesome matter.

Women were creatures that couldn’t be understood well. When they love, they would love with all their hearts, but when they hate, that’s when the problem comes.

For someone like Briar, who loved Logan with all her heart. That love might turn into an obsession. And obsessed people can become hard to deal with. Once the love turns into something else, they would carry a scary mentality.

’If I can’t have you, then no one else can!’

If such a thing happens, with how Briar knew too much about their family. The women shuddered at the kind of damage that she would cause.

"Son, when can it be done?" Madam Meyer didn’t try to convince her son at all, but asked, her tone sounding more urgent than Logan.

Logan heaved a sigh of relief inwardly when he saw that. For a moment, he was afraid of being labeled cruel and coldhearted.

After all, what he wanted to do was something that Briar wasn’t even consenting to. He was being selfish and all that. However, he believed that if she ever got to know such a thing, she would understand him.

Just like how she wanted to protect his family, he was doing this to protect that same family as well. Weren’t they doing the same thing?

Logan uttered an answer, and the women’s eyes flickered for a moment before resolution filled their eyes.

"Okay, once it’s arranged, don’t forget to tell me. We must not let things go wrong!" Madam Meyer said, her tone very firm, and her fists clenched, determination oozing from her.

Logan broke into a smile when he saw that. He answered, "I will keep you in the loop. Trust me."

The family of three discussed their issues outside of the ward and once they were done, they left without bothering to check the patient again.

If they had done so, they would have noticed something strange in the ward.

Which would have made them remember a certain saying, ’The walls have ears and doors have eyes.’

Supposedly to be sleeping soundly in the ward, Briar’s lips curled upwards in amusement, excitement flashing in her eyes as she thought inwardly, ’Interesting! Ruthless of the man that I have picked. Aren’t we just perfect for each other?’ finding the man she had set her eyes on from the start very much pleasing to the eyes.

After all, how could she hate him?

If that method was really used, then wouldn’t she be free of this curse called Selena?

Just thinking about it, Briar’s eyes twinkled even more.

She couldn’t wait!
