Sometime later that day, in a dimly lit room, three people were seated, and the atmosphere was sombre.

"How is she?" a hoarse male voice sounded; tiredness visible in the tone.

"Huh! How else can she be? Damn! That girl just wants to kill us!" an angry female voice sounded, completely pissed off by the situation.

"Bertha, calm down!"

"Irene. Do you want me to calm down? Don’t tell me you knew that she was going to do something crazy like that?" Bertha angrily asked, as she pointed at Irene, who hadn’t yet recovered from what she witnessed earlier that day.

Irene glared at Bertha, her fists clenched, and retorted, "You are fucking crazy! Do you think that if I fucking knew that Briar would end up in such a bloody mess, I would have allowed it?"

"You ...."

Bang.

Irene slammed the desk angrily, and a crack formed.

"Do you know how crazy Briar is? Damn, I have never seen her in action before, but today, I fucking saw how crazy she can be! Whatever happens in the future, if she has a problem, I would rather we eliminate whoever that person is and not allow her to do anything personally ever again!"

Irene’s body trembled, recalling how provoking Briar’s words were. If it was, she, who was being provoked like that, she would indeed stab Briar to death. When she agreed to the deal, she thought that Briar would at most frame Raine and pin the crime of causing Briar a miscarriage on Raine.

That would surely make Logan deal with Raine while covering the matter of the secrets of the Pandora’s box which were revealed, but luckily Logan didn’t believe a single thing.

However, Briar had other plans. Not only did she provoke Raine, but when stabbed in the belly, she ... she didn’t even stop provoking Raine. Irene was completely shocked when the whole thing started. And to make matters worse, Briar didn’t even scream but only did so later after she called the police.

George was in the area, just waiting to catch Raine but never in a million years did Irene expect that by the time she came out of the booth, Raine was laughing hysterically sitting by the pillar and Briar lying in a bloody pool while protecting her belly which had been stabbed repeatedly.

As for what happened next, everyone knew.

When the other two heard what happened, which wasn’t recorded in the recording that Irene, as the witness of the matter, gave to the detective in charge, George, they were both at a loss for words.

Briar was indeed crazy.

If they had known, they wouldn’t have agreed to that plan at all. Now look where it had gotten them.

"For now, we can only pray and hope that she will wake up!"

"I plan to borrow some points for a healing pill. With it, we can avoid Briar leaving us for good!" Bertha brought out the matter in a serious tone.

Briar’s wounds were very deep. She wasn’t even certain if she would wake up anytime soon. But as members of the CIRCLE, that shouldn’t be a problem as long as they have points. But the problem now was that they had exhausted their points of buying Briar a beauty pill before. The points that they now have weren’t that much.

So, the only option was to borrow. Bertha didn’t want to drag her friends into borrowing points, so she spoke for herself.

When the other heard that, they opposed her and argued with her for a long time before agreeing to share the burden together.

As a result, Bertha and George watched as Irene’s fingers typed pretty fast, going through the CIRCLE community. After some searching, Irene’s face lit up and looked at the two.

"I think that we might not need to borrow much points," she excitedly shared with the two.

The two were shocked at first before their eyes lit up and asked, "Why do you say so?"

"Haha, apparently there is a way for members to get emergency aid when in trouble. I just need to send the application to the moderators and as long as they approve, we might get the free healing pill."

"Can we really do it like that?"

"Yep."

"Then what are you waiting for?"

The house was suddenly filled with hope and Irene quickly compiled a file and, without hiding a single thing about what happened to Briar, she put everything. Once that was done, she sent the application and prayed for a positive response.

The response wasn’t something that would come immediately. They had to wait.

If the application gets rejected, then it wouldn’t be too late to borrow points to buy the pill.

The three were tired after such a shocking day, so once that was done, they all went their separate ways. There was still a lot of chaos to come in the following days.

Meanwhile, at the Meyers ancestral home, Logan had brought all three kids to stay with his parents. He would be very busy in the days to come, and he didn’t want the kids to be home alone and be worried about Briar.

He didn’t tell them about how Briar was hospitalized and fighting for her life.

After dropping them at his parents’ house, he left without staying for a long time and headed to the office where he planned to live until Raine’s matter was completed.

Meanwhile, at the ancestral house, after Logan left, the kids tactfully didn’t ask much. They could sense that there was something wrong, but if they asked, something bad might happen. So, after getting a brush of an answer about where their second mother was, they obediently went to their rooms.

However, the adults who were in the living room didn’t see the smartwatch which had fallen in the cracks of the sofa blinking suspiciously there.

With the children gone, the Meyer elders and Alice sat wearing heavy expressions, after everything that had happened.

"Mother, I don’t care how brother deals with this matter, but this time we have suffered a huge loss. Do you know that Raine was working with Anna? It was she who called Raine and informed her about my brother’s marriage. As if that wasn’t enough, Anna had been working with my ex-fiancé all these years. They have been scamming me.

They have all been eyeing our family. I have gathered a lot of evidence on them. I think that it might be useful. I will use it to put pressure on the other side!" Alice reported coldly, hatred in her eyes, as she thought of how badly her family had it this time.

Madam Meyer closed her eyes, sighing deeply, her chest being compressed with a suffocating feeling.

"You deal with them however you want. I will play my part, because of that lunatic I lost my grandchild! That was the new addition to the family. Do you know how hurt the kids would feel if they learnt that their second mother lost their younger sibling? She is even lying in the hospital fighting for her life!" Madam Meyer choked with pain as she talked about that.

Whenever she recalled how lifeless Briar was lying in that hospital, her heart ached. When she thought of her grandchild, she became even worse.

The adults continued to scold while coming up with countermeasures, but never in a million years did they think that everything that they were saying was being broadcasted to three people upstairs and their faces were ashen, as more dumbfounding revelations were exposed to them.
