Briar upon hearing that couldn’t help but chuckle lightly as she thought of the crazy things she did in the name of love.

Chloe nearly choked when she heard that, but she accepted it since she could see what Briar was talking about.

It was no use letting Dave understand the crazy depth of her love for him. He just needed to know that she loved him, and in return, he loved her as well.

"I will bear in my mind what you told me," after some thought, Chloe said, changing the topic from what Briar was talking about.

Briar nodded her head, a smile on her face and couldn’t help but add, "And don’t make it look like you can’t live without him. Let him know that you can live without him. Instead of chasing him, take care of your daughter."

Chloe nodded, taking mental note of that as well.

The two friends chatted for a while and in the process, Briar received a message from Irene which brought a strange smile to her face.

After reading the message, she looked at Chloe and said, "How about we go to the mall and buy a few things for the girls? It’s getting late!"

Chloe’s eyes lit up and nodded in agreement.

Once that was agreed upon, the two left the café and left in Briar’s car and headed towards the CBD while chatting merrily.

"How long have you known your husband, by the way?"

"I have been working for him for over a decade!"

"Wow! That’s a very long time. How did you know that you were in love with him?"

"Hehe, from the first day I saw him. He was the ideal prince charming I have always dreamt of!"

"But what happened to the mother of the children?" Chloe asked curiously, recalling that Briar was a nanny and was too young to bear those older children.

Briar’s eyes flashed with a hint of sadness as she responded, "Unfortunately, she passed away around six to seven years ago. Cancer got to her!" her tone tinged with sadness and loss.

Chloe, who didn’t know Briar too well despite understanding and knowing that they were the birds of the same feather, couldn’t help but feel touched at how Briar could actually feel sorry for her husband’s deceased wife.

Could it be that they were so close and she felt guilty for loving him that she kept her feelings hidden for so many years?

She could finally understand why Briar kept her feelings hidden and did the things she did in the shadows. Loving someone you aren’t supposed to love was truly ..... an unfortunate thing to do.
