Chapter 197: Chapter 197: OUTING WITH LISA 4
Once she was seated, Bell started asking her several questions which Briar answered seriously. After the series of questions, she was taken to the hair wash station where the official business started.
Bell worked exactly like those stylists Logan always hired at home. Her hands were thorough, and she didn’t feel any head pains as she massaged her scalp during the head wash.
After the hair was washed, it was blow-dried before Briar started picking the braids she wanted to plait. In order to have her hair grow quickly, she thought of plaiting box braids which would last her a month or so.
She didn’t like wigs or plaiting weaves (hair pieces), so she opted for that choice.
Once she picked the colors of the braids, she left everything to Bell, who started working on the hair seriously.
During the process, Lisa’s call finally came in and Briar was relieved to know that Lisa had arrived. However, from the call, Briar also recognized that there was another female voice sounding next to Lisa. Lisa might not have come alone, which wasn’t bad. After all, the more, the merrier.
Shortly after the call, roughly five minutes later or so, Lisa’s voice rang in Briar’s ears as she appeared on the top floor, dressed elegantly, with a branded handbag in hand.
Briar looked at the friend she made just yesterday with an affectionate gaze and couldn’t help but smile.
Lisa, who had just entered with her friend, the one she shared melons with on her way home, spotted Briar the second she stepped into the salon and her eyes shone upon seeing the other.
"Dear, there you are!" Lisa called out animatedly with her hands spread and that made Briar burst into a chuckle, her eyes forming into crescents at how funny Lisa looked.
"Lisa, I see you!"
Lisa flashed her white teeth at Briar as she continued to walk towards her, responding, "And I see you as well!"
Lisa’s friend, who was following from behind, watched this exchange with interest in her eyes.
She just couldn’t believe that the young woman who was sitting in an ordinary salon was that ’Mrs. Logan’ everyone was dying to see and know about.
Who would think that the person they were so eager to meet was here and not in those high-end places?
And on top of that, the other didn’t look any intimidating. She looked like a friendly young sister who would go along with everyone she met. Was that the allure of being a nanny for so many years?
She was filled with so much curiosity.
Lisa was happy to meet Briar, and so was Briar.
The two exchanged pleasantries for a while without disturbing Bell, who was busy with her work before Lisa finally introduced her friend to Briar.
Lisa’s friend was called Grace, and the two had known each other since high school days. Briar looked at Grace with appreciation. It wasn’t easy for people to be friends for so many years without any issues. Having such long-term friends was truly a blessing.
With Lisa and Grace’s arrival, Briar was no longer lonely and, with them accompanying her, they had so much to talk about.
Knowing that Briar was new to their circles, the two kindly shared all the interesting stories happening in the city, and Briar’s eyes were squinting from start to finish. Who would have thought that the ladies’ circles were that heavy?
Somewhere before noon, Briar’s head was not even halfway done, but she received a call from Logan which made Lisa and Grace’s ears perk.
After seeing the hubby’s caller ID on the screen, the two women knew exactly who was calling and were quite curious about how these two chatted on the phone.
Briar picked up the phone, swiped the screen and placed the phone on her ear as she answered, "Hubby, afternoon!" her voice a bit coquettish, which sent tremors in the two ladies’ bodies.
[Um, afternoon, love. Are you doing well over there?]
Briar grinned as she heard the concern in his tone as he asked and answered, "I am doing well. I have Lisa and Grace accompanying me. So, it is well!"
[That’s good. I will send someone with lunch. So don’t bother to go anywhere else, okay?]
She shyly nodded upon hearing that and answered, "I will wait for the food then."
The two chatted for a while and their exchange forced others to be fed with sugar.
Grace, who had previously from Lisa about how Briar and Logan interacted sweetly, finally saw it firsthand and the experience was worth it.
After the call with Logan, Briar cheerfully informed her friends about the lunch before returning to the gossip that was quite entertaining.
An hour or so later, Chris appeared in the salon holding boxes from a familiar and expensive restaurant which made both Lisa and Grace suck in a cold breath as they both pondered, ’That restaurant offers takeaway services? Why didn’t they know about it?’
Briar was ignorant of that matter. She just knew that whatever Logan picked was good. Besides, she once ate food from that restaurant when she was at the penthouse. How could she even guess that the restaurant didn’t offer any takeaway services?
There were four boxes, and Briar distributed them equally. One for herself, and the other three shared between Lisa, Grace and Bell.
Once the food was served, they all stopped what they were doing and started eating.
Bell was grateful and over the moon for having such a generous customer. With her measly salary, how could she be so careless to buy a meal at that restaurant?
However, seeing how another woman could just receive four lunchboxes so easily like that, Bell couldn’t help but be curious about who Briar’s husband was.
Lisa and Grace, on the other hand, became even more determined to befriend and be good to Briar.
Befriending such a person wouldn’t bring anyone a loss. Besides, who said that people should only befriend those who were of the same age?
