The next day, Briar yawned groggily as she opened her eyes drowsily.

’What time is it?’ she wondered as she forced her eyelids to open.

While struggling to do so, her gaze automatically went for the empty space just next to her and all the sleepiness vanished.

"What a beast!" she complained furiously as she tried to rise, but her aching body failed her.

Who would have known that Logan’s desires were simply way over the top?

However, as she thought about how all those desires were hers, a creepy smile blossomed on her face as she finally sat on the bed, the sheet falling down, revealing the inconspicuous marks on her body.

Briar was in a creepy daze for a moment before she finally got up and started rushing to deal with her chores.

For a moment there, she had forgotten about the appointment she made with Lisa and that would have been a big mistake.

She made up the bed, opened the windows and rushed to the walk-in closet where she found a bottle of herbal medicine she left in her suitcase and brought it with her to the bathroom.

She opened the tap and started filling the tub. While that was happening, she scooped some herbs from the bottle and the water turned green. A smile appeared on her face as she saw that and happily closed the lid before putting the bottle away.

An hour later, Briar was fully dressed but not extravagantly but casually. She would be spending hours in a salon. She didn’t want to feel uncomfortable when she was there.

After dressing up, she packed her backpack instead of her handbag and filled it with some necessary items.

Once that was done, she merrily went downstairs, where she found the food already ready. She sat at the dining table, got the food served and ate it with relish.

After eating breakfast, she went outside and found her yellow car, which she hadn’t driven in a very long time, waiting for her.

Knowing that she was going outside, she had the butler prepare the car for her the moment she came downstairs. Since she wouldn’t be picking up the kids, since she had an inkling that the outing might take a long time, there was no need to bring another car.

Moments later, the yellow car glided away and the butler once again shook his head as he watched the young madam’s driving prowess still there even after not being behind the wheel for ages.

Driving towards her destination, she received a call from Vivian, who was concerned about her, and they chatted cheerfully for a while before making an appointment later that week. Unlike her, Vivian was a working lady and after work, she usually returned to the place where she and her fiancé were currently staying.

Vivian no longer stayed next door like she did when she was young. It was difficult to meet her friend that frequently.

After the call with Vivian, Briar also contacted her other friends. She last talked to them on Monday morning before she boarded the plane. After she arrived in the city, Logan and the kids occupied her. She didn’t have time to talk to them, but now she does.

She was afraid that if she didn’t contact them now, she might not be able to do the whole day. So, she tried her luck.

Fortunately, Irene was available, so she chatted with the other, getting more updates regarding the matters which used to trouble Briar before.

[Darling. I have intercepted a call made by Raine to her parents. That b**** is truly sick in the head!] Irene’s angry voice sounded through the speakers, making Briar chuckle at the thought of how angry Irene must be if her voice was already like that.

"What did she do? don’t tell me that she hasn’t given up despite the state that she is in right now?" Briar asked, an unreadable expression on her face as she thought of Raine.

[Tche! That b**** has so many guts. She wants to destroy you!]

Upon hearing that, Briar’s eyes lit up in anticipation and excitedly responded, "Tell me more! Since she is that crazy. I might as well help her and get this nonsense done with!"

[You ...]

"Come on, sis! Don’t you think that it’s better to have this matter behind us and concentrate on other matters?"

[You ... are you serious?]

"Dead serious! Besides, I will be holding the wedding ceremony next year. Don’t you want me to wed in one piece?"

When she asked that, Irene went silent for a long time, but Briar didn’t urge the other to respond. She could understand the emotions that the other person was going through. However, no matter what Irene thought, she was still going ahead with the previous plan.

[Fine! What do you want me to do?] After a long time, Irene’s voice sounded, acquiescing to Briar, and Briar’s eyes shone upon hearing that.

Briar excitedly shared the new information with Irene. Since she already discussed that with Mammy Adonai, the plan was foolproof. She just needed Irene to pass that to Bertha and George, since they were busier than them.

Once she was done explaining, Irene didn’t respond straightaway, but Briar could hear the heavy breathing on the other side of the call and it wasn’t good.

She could tell that Irene was trying to calm herself down. And since she didn’t want to suffer the brunt, she could only behave and not say a single word.

[Fine, I will deal with Raine’s parents for now and as for the plan. Not this week. Next week. Give everyone time to prepare!]

Briar heaved a sigh of relief upon hearing that and responded, "Thanks, sis!"

[Let us not do anything like that in the future. We all can’t stand it!] Irene warned with a growl and Briar obediently acquiesced to that.

She didn’t plan on doing anything dangerous ever again voluntarily unless the circumstances forced her, which she doubted she would ever be in such a situation.

Now that she was a spiritualist, anyone who bothered her would just need a picture or a few belongings and personally deal with him or her.

She no longer needed to leave a trail of evidence anymore.
