Contractually Yours: The Billionaire's Unlikely Bride -
Chapter 174: GOING BACK HOME
Chapter 174: Chapter 174: GOING BACK HOME
Days flew by pretty fast, and before she knew it, it was Tuesday morning.
"Dear, did you get everything?" Logan asked as he looked at Briar, who was closing her suitcase.
Briar didn’t look at him but answered as she zipped the bag, "Yep. I did. If anything is missing, I will just buy it later!"
Logan nodded after hearing that. Indeed, with money, you could buy anything. So, no need to worry much.
"That’s good," he said as he looked around, just in case there was anything out of place.
Briar rose to her feet and clapped her hands with a smile on her face, the sparkling ring on her finger shining. It nearly blinded her eyes.
Seeing the ring, she couldn’t help but be happier, recalling how she was someone who got formally proposed to.
"Are you done?" Logan’s voice sounded, breaking her prideful moment.
She turned her head to look at him and suddenly opened her arms, a hint of mischief in her eyes. "Hubby, give me a hug!" she ordered coyly, without moving.
Logan shook his head helplessly upon hearing that, but still moved his long legs towards her to give her what she wanted.
Briar grinned victoriously seeing him coming her way and kindly turned around so that they were facing each other.
Moments later, Logan was right in front of her, his hand wrapped around her waist and she was standing on tiptoes, with both lips locked onto his.
The room’s temperature rose, and the atmosphere was ambiguous, with the bodies pressed against each other, reluctant to part.
After some time, the two reluctantly part and Briar licked her numb lips, her eyes a bit teary and looked provocative and seductive to Logan.
Looking at her like that, Logan knew what he wanted to do, but he couldn’t do it. So, he could only suppress the fire that she had ignited in him and jot down this debt. She would come back in a few days. When she does, he would make her repay this debt with interest.

Downstairs, Lyra, Cade and Tiana were sulking as they sat at the dining table waiting for their parents to come down.
Knowing that Briar was leaving for her home village for several days, the kids weren’t in a good mood at all.
To make matters worse, their father stole her from Saturday night and only brought her back yesterday morning. Who does that?
They didn’t even get time to spend with their second mother before she was packing for another trip.
The thought of her being away for days. The kids just couldn’t accept it, but their hands were tied up. They couldn’t do anything to stop it. After all, their second mother also had a home and her brother was sick. If she doesn’t go to see him, then wouldn’t they be villains?
Ding!
The elevator doors opened, and all three pairs of eyes shifted towards the open space, eyes filled with anticipation.
"It’s not like I am going for years. By Monday I will be back, you know!" Briar’s voice sounded, and it seemed that she was talking to their father.
The kids’ ears perked as they listened to this conversation while the two appeared in their view.
"I know. I just don’t understand why I might not be able to contact you for days, that’s all."
"Phones are distracting. Besides, there are a lot of things to do back there. I might even go to the mountains to look for herbs. We are running short!"
Briar and Logan were having a banter as they joined the kids at the table.
The kids, upon hearing that, didn’t know what to say.
Why didn’t anyone tell them that they wouldn’t be able to chat with their second mother? What was this entering the mountain situation that they were hearing?
They could only listen to the two adults, as one complained, and the other explained.
Breakfast was eaten, but not everyone had a good appetite, like what Briar had.
Once breakfast was finished, the family of five left the mansion and headed outside where the limo was waiting for them.
In order to send Briar safely to the airport, Logan was going with her. Since the kids wanted to spend time with Briar, everyone was going in the same car.
It’s been a very long time since all of them shared a car and it was quite sensational.
Once everyone boarded the car, the limo drove away from the mansion and inside the car, Logan listened to Briar talking with the kids and lessening their worries.
"Nothing will happen even if I go into the mountains. I grew up trekking the mountains from a young age."
"But ..... what if you come across wild animals?"
"Hehehe, there is no such thing over there. The only animals that can be found are rabbits, peasants, squirrels and the like. All the dangerous ones, I doubt that they still remain."
"You are not lying to us?"
"How can I lie to you?"
"We just can’t help but worry."
"I know you do, but I need to do this. I will bring you some goodies. You will definitely like them!"
Seeing her so adamant, what could the father and kids do? Nothing.
They could only hope that the days would fly faster so that she would return to their side.
The kids were dropped at their respective schools before the limo headed for the airport.
On the way, Briar and Logan chatted about several topics, and none of them revolved around anything depressing.
"When you come back, let’s prepare for the wedding!"
Briar was leaning on his shoulder as he said that. A smile blossomed on her face, just thinking of the special day.
"Um. Let’s do so!" she didn’t object but cooperated.
Wedding Logan in a high-profile manner was something that she had dreamt about for over a decade.
So, the couple talked more about the wedding, though they weren’t able to discuss everything because of lack of time.
However, they both understood one thing: they were both on the same page and it was going to be a busy season for the two of them once she comes back.
And she looked forward to that a lot.
