Chapter 162: Chapter 162: LOVEY-DOVEY

At the penthouse of before, where they consummated their marriage, Briar found herself sitting in a familiar position surrounded by a group of people who were busy styling her for the night.

With the banquet starting early, around five o’clock, Briar needed to leave home early to get there in time. And for her to do so, she needed to prepare in time.

As a result, she wasn’t taken to the mansion but to the penthouse, where the group of stylists came in large numbers to prepare her for the night.

The banquet was more of a gathering of socialites or ladies in the upper circle of society. It was the kind of banquet where ladies could show up wearing branded clothes, handbags, jewelry, and so forth. They tend to show off or liaise and connect.

It was the kind of banquet where other ladies bring their daughters to debut and let the other ladies see them. Perhaps they might get lucky and find suitable men to marry in the future.

It took two hours for Briar to be styled to perfection. By the time they were done, she looked in the mirror and went completely silent as she looked at the person in the mirror.

Ever since she started taking the beauty pill, her complexion has greatly improved. Even after finishing taking it, she could see that her skin, unless she did something to it, would remain glowing, and that was a good thing.

Thanks to its nourished state, she didn’t face any difficulties when she was receiving her make-up. It all went very smoothly.

When she saw the person reflected in the mirror, her lips curled upwards and that person did the same as well.

Unlike the first time she saw herself in such make-up and was shocked, this time, she was at ease and her eyes filled with appreciation of how beautiful she was.

Her self-confidence could be said to have boosted up, and she had little to worry about.

"Are you satisfied with the work today, madam?"

Briar looked at the chief stylist and nodded her head with a smile, her eyes squinting in happiness.

"I love it!" she sincerely responded, and the chief stylist smiled in relief upon seeing that.

Once their job was done, the stylists all left the room, leaving Briar seated while admiring her beautiful self.

Logan, who had been waiting for hours upon seeing the stylists out, entered the room to check on Briar and see what the tedious process had produced.

And when he walked in, he froze in his steps as that reflection welcomed him.

"Beautiful!" he muttered in awe, his heart drumming like crazy as he looked at her.

Briar had become very beautiful. Maybe it was happiness, nourishment of love, or just living well. He had never seen her using anything that would make a person change like that. The change wasn’t bad; it was actually good.

Women cared much about their faces and he could see that Briar had been in great moods lately.

Seeing her however dolled up like that, meticulously styled with passion, he didn’t know what to say but when she smiled at him through the mirror and said teasingly, "Hubby, should I just be at home?" her brows corked, he couldn’t help but burst into a chuckle.

"You ...." He was at a loss for words as he walked towards her, his strides long.

Briar laughed warmly, her eyes smiling and her whole face brightening.

Logan soon stood behind Briar and hugged her from behind.

"Dear, you look good!"

"Hehe, so good that you don’t want to see me go?"

Logan chuckled and playfully tapped her nose. "As much as I want to trap you here, I would prefer it with you completely naked and only adorning the sparkling pieces I have prepared for you!"

Hearing his flirtatious words, Briar shrank her neck as she felt hot, shyness and embarrassment washing over her.

"You .... How could you think about something like that?" she shyly asked, her voice trembling and sounding like a mosquito silently buzzing.

Logan chuckled as he looked at that pretty face through the mirror and happily dropped a kiss on top of her head. The short hair was gone and replaced by a magnificent wig, which had cost him quite a lot, though it was nothing for him.

But for a piece of hair, it was simply too pricey and seeing it on her head, it looked worthy now.

"I only have such thoughts towards you and no one else!"

Briar upon hearing that raised her head and gave Logan a smile, which nearly blinded him.

"I will reward you when I come back. How about that?" she suddenly said, her cheeks firing up at the thought of bringing this topic to him for the first time.

Logan’s eyes widened as his fists clenched in disbelief at what he had just heard.

Briar was bold, but not that bold, to suggest something like that first and directly the way she did. However, his heart was drumming excitedly at the thought of having what he had been craving all these nights, but couldn’t have.

Since she was suggesting, then it meant that her body must be better, right?

It seemed that his plans needed to be pushed forward. That way, the night would become even better.

With that thought in mind, he smiled at her before planting another kiss on top of her head without saying a word.

Seeing him like that, Briar didn’t force him to say a single word but smiled lovingly.

She knew her man pretty well. Seeing him like that meant that he had acquiesced. Although it was something she said in a moment of excitement, she didn’t regret it. After all, she was human, and she kind of missed him as well.

If she doesn’t do her duties as the wife, what if some vixen out there seduces him and he fails to control himself and problems occur?

She couldn’t risk it. This illness needed to go.

With the two of them at the same wavelength, sparks were firing inside the room.

Briar finally stood up after sharing some silent moments filled with fire with Logan. And when she got to her feet, Logan took several steps backwards to look at her properly.

Briar playfully cooperated and swirled around for him to see. Logan chuckled helplessly as she did so, but his eyes had this glint flickering in them as he admired the beautiful woman that the deities brought to him.

At least Selena did something right when he brought Briar back from her village. If she hadn’t done that, then he would have missed her.

Wouldn’t that be a loss?
