Contractually Yours: The Billionaire's Unlikely Bride -
Chapter 160: ALONE TIME
Chapter 160: Chapter 160: ALONE TIME
"Good morning!" Briar’s coquettish voice rang in his ear the moment he opened his eyes.
Logan smiled dotingly as he looked at Briar, who was looking at him with so much love oozing from her.
He pulled her into his embrace and planted a kiss on her forehead as he responded, "Good morning. Did you sleep well?" his tone tinged with concern.
Briar grinned sheepishly as she blinked her eyes at him and nodded while answering, "I slept very well and you, hubby?"
Logan, upon hearing that, heaved with relief and smiled at her, "I slept well."
Briar beamed. "That’s good then."
Logan chuckled lightly as he tapped her nose playfully.
"You can sleep a bit more, you know?"
Briar shook her head heavily upon hearing that and said, "Nope. I need to prepare early. I don’t want to lose face today!" her tone a bit smug.
Logan was at a loss when he heard that. He looked at her speechlessly.
If he wasn’t mistaken, it was still around six o’clock in the morning and the banquet was being held around five o’clock in the evening.
That was like a whole day between now, and then, and yet she wanted to prepare now. Anyway, women were creatures who were hard to understand at times. When it comes to self-care, they tend to put more effort.
Thinking about how it’s been hard on her the times she went on such events; he didn’t dare utter a single objection. He could only accept and agree to what she wanted.
Briar was happy winning this round. She merrily smooched him on the cheek before escaping from his embrace.
Logan chuckled helplessly, a hint of amusement in his eyes as he looked at his empty arms and then at Briar, who was now swaying towards the bathroom.
His eyes darkened as he thought to himself, ’I will get her one day. She will get better, won’t she?’
It’s been difficult on him these past few days. He couldn’t have her in many ways he wanted. He could only hold and see, but couldn’t go any further.
Lost in his thoughts, he found himself smiling.
Meanwhile, Briar was busy freshening up in the bathroom. It was the day of the banquet, and this time she didn’t plan to prepare when it was too late.
She had been embarrassed so many times and this time, she planned to walk with her head held very high.
That was why she made an appointment with Bertha, Vivian, and Alice, who were going to the banquet later that night.
To catch up with the time, they had to go to their appointment very early in the morning, thus the preparations.
Thirty minutes later, she came out of the bathroom and Logan wasn’t on the bed anymore. The bed had been spread, and she smiled relievedly, thinking to herself, ’What a responsible man I found for myself!’ feeling a bit smug for having such a man who could do chores that other men deemed low for them.
She went to the closet, where she picked a one-piece dress and a pair of matching wedges.
She dolled herself prettily. There were a lot of good things in the closet, so she didn’t have to suffer or make herself do so.
Once she was done, she picked up her bag and added a few things in there, including the bank card Logan generously gave her before she left the bedroom.
Downstairs, Logan was sitting at the dining table with a newspaper in hand while waiting for Briar to get down.
There was no sign of the children. It seemed that they were still sleeping, which was very good.
It didn’t take that long before he heard the elevator door opening.
He closed the newspaper as he looked in that direction with a smile. Moments later, Briar appeared in his view and he couldn’t help but smile as he looked at her.
Although she had slimmed down lately because of her illness, she still looked very fine. The curves he loved so much were still there. Unlike those women with less flesh, Briar was blessed in many ways and he loved it so much.
Briar beamed at him as soon as she spotted him and cheerfully called out, "Hubby, were you waiting for me?" her tone full of teasing.
Logan nodded, a smile on his lips, and he saw her eyes brightening up.
Briar walked hurriedly towards the table and shortly she was seated as well next to Logan and not across.
She didn’t believe in the nonsense of sitting across from her man. With the two of them seated very far apart like that, how could they build their relationship?
The butler and the maids, seeing the relationship between the two, smiled happily. When the two top people in the house are in harmony, the house will also be in harmony.
Breakfast was served, and it was the first time in several days since Logan ate with Briar for breakfast. Because of her illness, she tends to wake up late, so it had been him and the kids.
Today, he wanted to eat with her and accompany her. Since he promised and cleared the day for her, as well as his secret plans, that very moment felt special.
For breakfast, Briar found herself eating more porridge again. She could only bite her tongue and eat every single spoonful with a smile on her face.
’I need to start getting better, otherwise, this porridge might really kill me!’
Breakfast was eaten harmoniously, and Logan ate porridge alongside Briar and found the experience quite new.
After breakfast, the two of them left the mansion and headed outside where the car was already parked.
Since he was already awake, he planned to send her off while spending time with her.
After all, when would he find more time to do so without feeling any pressure?
With that thought in mind, he opened the door for her and she gladly sat in the passenger seat with a smile.
’It’s my lucky day!’ she couldn’t help but exclaim inwardly, thinking about how she wasn’t fortunate to be driven personally by Logan before.
It seems that when you are favored, everything is possible.
This kind of life and luck she wanted for eternity.
No one would be taking this away from her.
No one!
