Contractually Yours: The Billionaire's Unlikely Bride -
Chapter 153: I HATE HER!
Chapter 153: Chapter 153: I HATE HER!
[If I had known that you were only going there to cause problems, I shouldn’t have let you board that damn plane!] A hysterical female voice sounded in Raine’s ears and her expression was very dark as he clenched her fists, listening to the angry voice which belonged to her mother.
[Do you know how embarrassed your father and I were when we received a call from Madam Meyer? We haven’t even talked in years and yet because of your audacious actions at such an old age, we got reprimanded and threatened!]
[I don’t give a damn about what you are doing there! You better get back on the plane as soon as possible. Otherwise, we will disown you! I am not playing, Raine! Doot .... Doot ..... doot ....]
Before Raine could respond and explain herself, her mother angrily hung up.
Clatter.
Raine angrily scattered the things on the table, and they all clattered to the floor, shattering into pieces.
She looked very gloomy as she looked at the phone in her hand. She couldn’t even throw it away despite her urge to do so.
Her chest was heaving up and down, her face contorted at the thought of the humiliation she was forced to swallow two days in a row.
Never in a million years did she think that Logan’s mother would put so much effort and love for that lowly person they took in as a daughter-in-law.
To have such audacity to call her parents and reprimand her, how could Briar be worthy?
"Damn b*****!" she angrily cussed as she stood on her feet, recalling the frame-up she went through that night.
"I hate her! I hate you so much, Briar. I will use all my resources to expose that green tea b*** face of yours!" the more she thought about how she couldn’t even defend herself and was labeled as the villain without doing even much, Raine felt suffocated.
It felt very unfair and yet she knew that without any evidence, she wouldn’t be able to bring her down.
And there were many ways to bring Briar down. If only she hadn’t made such a scene, perhaps she wouldn’t be forced to up her game. But since she was already the villain, she might as well continue and bring Briar down with her.
But before doing so, there was someone she needed to deal with.
Thinking about how Anna didn’t share such crucial information regarding Briar’s shamelessness and how she, Raine, was forced to leave the country after facing such humiliation, she was going to forgive Anna for what she did.
She wasn’t some silly teenager who hadn’t seen the world. She was in her late thirties and women her age was married and with families. Their children were teenagers already. So how could she be fooled by Anna?
She understood that little girl’s thoughts, but she went along with her plans. Why, some might ask?
When a chance is presented to you, it would be wise to get it lest you end up having regrets in the future.
In Raine’s eyes, Anna was no competition, and neither was Briar, and that’s where all problems started.
If only she had properly investigated Briar, who managed to win Logan when so many ladies of proper birth couldn’t have him. Maybe she wouldn’t have suffered such a defeat just a day after her return.
With such thoughts in mind, she picked up her phone from the table and dialed a string of numbers from memory.
Ring. Ring. Ring.
The phone rang a couple of times before the other party picked it up. [What’s up, Ree?]
A smile appeared on her face upon hearing such a familiar voice, speaking to her in such a carefree and casual manner.
"Not doing well at all. I need your help!"
[Oh~ who pissed off my queen?]
Raine rolled her eyes upon hearing such endearment but still answered, "Just some lowly bugs!"
[Then give me their names and they shall be dealt with as soon as possible!] the other party responded; a hint of ruthlessness tinged in the tone.
Raine beamed upon hearing that and gave the other a string of instructions before hanging up with a smile.
"Tsk. Let’s see how you will get out of this one!" she clicked her tongue, a sneer on her face as she thought of the hell that was about to fall on that unfortunate person.
While she was busy rejoicing in the downfall of an opponent, Raine failed to see a glitch, which occurred on her phone for just a short time before the screen returned to normal.
She was just happy that things were finally going to go her way.
****
On the other side of the city, Irene clicked her tongue in amusement as she listened to the recorded call Raine had just had a while ago.
While listening to it, her fingers were quite busy tracking the IP address of the person she called. Without alerting the other party, she successfully accessed the firewalls and copied several files she planned to go through once she was done.
"I can’t believe that this woman is still so shameless! She just doesn’t want to give up, doesn’t she?" Irene mumbled to herself moments later as she went through some encrypted messages, which she found to be from Raine to the hacker.
As she deciphered the messages, her eyes couldn’t help but light up as she came across something that she had been desperately looking for, but couldn’t find all this time.
Tap. Tap. Tap.
Irene excitedly typed on the computer as fast as she could. The room was filled with the sounds of the button being pressed repeatedly, and it sounded like a perfect symphony being played by the orchestra.
With more strings of codes appearing on the screen, several phones were being hacked, systems were being hacked into and, after five or so minutes, she was grinning as she looked at the file on her desktop.
"Briar will be very happy to hear about this!" while stretching her hands, Irene grinned happily at the thought of the most troublesome issue they were all having but didn’t know from which angle to solve it.
Without further ado, she took out her phone and opened the group chat of her, Bertha, Briar, and George.
