Chapter 143: Chapter 143: CONFRONTATION

Briar clicked her tongue as she walked towards the restroom, humming a tune as she thought to herself, ’I wonder if she would follow later!’

She had given Raine a chance to act, and she hoped that Raine wouldn’t let her down. She didn’t know if they would be able to meet by chance in the future. So, she might as well make a move now.

She got to the restroom, emptied her bladder, and felt refreshed once she was done.

She got out of the cubicle and wasn’t surprised when she saw Raine washing her hands with a frosty expression. She looked like the female version of Jack Frost, and that wasn’t nice at all.

’It’s coming! It’s coming!’ she thought excitedly as she walked to the sink, a polite smile on her face.

[Must you really do this?]

Briar rolled her eyes inward when the familiar voice sounded. ’Seriously, you guys! Can’t you take a rest or something? Why are you disturbing me at such a time?’

She couldn’t believe how shameless these ancestors were to come to her at such a time.

"Sister," she softly called out to Raine with a smile as she reached the sink.

Raine closed the sink and shook her hands as she looked at Briar, the water flying towards Briar. It made her flinch, but she didn’t dare get angry.

Raine, upon seeing Briar’s cowardly actions, snorted as she folded her hands and glared at Briar, making her look puzzlingly at Raine and ask, "sister, did I perhaps unknowingly offend you?" her tone laced with uncertainty and curiosity.

Raine gritted her teeth when she heard that, and her folded arms loosened as she pointed at Briar. "You ..... how dare you?"

Briar stumbled backwards in shock, her expression still that of puzzlement but filled with aggrievement.

"Sister, you .... Why are you attacking me like that? What did I do to you?" Briar tearfully asked, her eyes reddening as she looked at Raine.

Raine was in disbelief upon seeing that. That was the shortest time she had ever seen anyone becoming teary and looking like she had been bullied.

She hadn’t done anything yet and if other people walked into the restroom right now, she would suffer and receive a label that she didn’t deserve.

Seeing Briar, whose tears were about to come out at any second, she regretted not bringing her phone with her. If only she had, she would have recorded everything and used the recording to show Logan and let him see what a hypocritical woman he married.

"Are you not ashamed of acting like a green tea? Why are you crying? And who bullied you?" Raine nonetheless couldn’t take this while lying down.

There wasn’t anyone else in the restroom, so she was safe. She was so pissed seeing what Briar was doing.

Briar upon hearing that, squeezed her eyes and tears started falling down her cheeks, stunning Raine into silence.

Seeing the expression on Raine’s face, Briar suddenly grinned, shocking Raine to the core with her sudden move.

Seeing her grinning with her lips raised in a mocking smirk and those tears running down her cheeks, Raine became enlightened.

"You ....." she was so angry and furious as she pointed at Briar. "You are freaking playing with me?"

How could she not understand that Briar was toying with her?

She had pretended to be a bunny from the moment she walked in and yet now that they were facing each other; she was showing her true colors.

Wait, a minute! What was she showing her true colors?

Could it be that Briar knew her feelings for Logan and now she didn’t care anymore?

Her eyes couldn’t help but narrow dangerously as she glared at Briar.

Briar clicked her tongue as she opened the tap. Without looking at Raine, she opened her mouth and started speaking slowly, "Seriously. You are such an older woman and yet you still want to play games with the youngsters.do you take me for an idiot?"

Boom!

Raine heard something exploding in her head, and it didn’t look nice at all. What was Briar talking about?

She hatefully looked at the other but didn’t dare go anywhere closer.

Briar turned her head and looked at Raine with a provocative smile and continued, "You aren’t the first woman to covet what is mine, and you won’t be the last. But let me warn you, darling, no one and nothing can take Logan away from me. If you dare try, I will make you regret falling for him in the first place."

"You .... Does he know that you are this?" Raine gritted her teeth and asked, her bountiful chest heaving with fury.

Briar seeing that chest couldn’t help but feel envious, but when she thought that at the end of the day, it would be her moaning and squirming beneath Logan, her envy disappeared.

"What if he knows and what if he doesn’t?" Briar mockingly retorted as she walked towards the corner where she took some tissue paper, which she used to dab her face so that she could get rid of the tears which messed her face.

Raine couldn’t believe what her ears were hearing.

"Hahaha, I wonder how hurt he would be when he found out that you are just hypocritical and a vain person!"

"Tche, how can he know about that? And what makes you think that a puny old maid like you can make my dear husband see this side of me? Do you take me for an idiot?" Briar provoked shamelessly.

Without any proof or forcing Raine into doing something, she couldn’t get rid of her once and for all. The best way to deal with a patient opponent like Raine was to put pressure. Only when she is pressured, can she make mistakes.

Briar didn’t forget that she was still looking for Moses, and Raine might know where he was. She didn’t dare be relaxed.

Surely, the provocation worked.

"Hehe, are you talking like this simply because no one has anything on you? Tche, Briar, you are nothing but a lowly peasant. I will make sure to tear this fake face of yours and let Logan see what an ugly bitch you are.

I will make him regret picking you as his wife when there are so many women out there, better than you and good for him.

A snake, like you isn’t allowed to be anywhere close to Logan. I will bring you down, Briar. Just wait and see!"

Raine had an emotional burst and ruthlessly vowed to take Briar down with firmness in her tone.

Briar listened to that with interest, thinking to herself that was exactly what she wanted.

However, she wasn’t someone who would show her hand to the opponent, so she snickered at her as she started walking towards the door and responded, "I will wait for that day. I am curious to see who will win and lose. After all, it’s been ages since I lost!" her voice was very provocative. It made Raine dig her nails into her palms, drawing more blood.

Briar didn’t wait to hear Raine’s response or see her reaction.

After provoking the other, she left the restroom and adjusted her emotions, though her eyes remained red and teary.

As for Raine’s revenge, she was willing to welcome it with open arms. The sooner she dealt with her, the sooner she could enjoy her marriage peacefully.

She had been living on tenterhooks from the moment Mammy Adonai told her about the matter.
