Chapter 139: Chapter 139: LOGAN CIRCLE OF FRIENDS 3
Back then, because she couldn’t explain herself properly, she nearly killed herself. Just thinking about it made him shudder and make him remember that Selena caused all that. His resentment towards Selena and her family intensified. At the same time, make him recall how he did that inhumane experiment on Briar and made her forget a lot of things.
What if she got triggered and somehow, that door which was closed gets forced open?
He didn’t dare think much above that, lest it makes him feel doubtful of everything. So, the best solution for this matter was to stand up for herself when she feels wronged. Only when that happens, can she not overthink and make the matter escalate.
Briar was unaware of how fast Logan’s brain was thinking. Her eyes were all sparkly as she was expectant and filled with anticipation of seeing Raine.
How could she lose to a woman in her late thirties?
She was already too old while she was still fresh. Nonetheless, Raine was someone who ate more salt than her. She might not be easy to tackle, but who didn’t love challenges?
Besides, without getting closer to Raine, how could she settle the matter that was troubling her recently?
She had a feeling that if that Moses’ person did still exist and was very much alive, then Raine should be the person who would come up with such a story.
When that happens, she wants to be ready. Besides, the first preparations were already done. Even if Raine were to explode and reveal that matter, Logan wouldn’t believe her because she had already counterattacked even without knowing that there would be a Raine in the future.
However, it didn’t hurt to snub the problem from its roots. So, she was going to wait patiently until the other person exploded. After all, without visiting her spiritual mother, she didn’t dare chew much that she couldn’t swallow.
Ding.
The elevator finally reached the floor where they were going and the couple exited the elevator arm-in-arm.
"I am missing the kids already!" Briar couldn’t help but say as she sighed deeply, thinking about how Tiana was making a fuss before they left.
Logan couldn’t help but smile as he thought about something, as well.
"Don’t worry. It’s not like we are sleeping outside tonight. We will join them later," he replied to her, patting her hand reassuringly.
Briar raised her head and looked at him with her brown, smiling eyes before nodding her head in agreement.
"Um, we will!" she hummed a response and looked away, feeling flushed from all the staring.
Logan chuckled, and she could hear the teasing in that chuckle. She glared at him and puffed before looking away.

Meanwhile, inside the room, the group of friends’ topic had changed along the way and they weren’t talking about Logan’s marriage at all.
Rather, they were all curious about the life of the woman in red and what she was up to all these years.
However, before the interesting questions could be answered, the door creaked and all the focus shifted toward the door.
Everyone had a glint of anticipation in their eyes and it made those who had seen Briar prior to this found this reaction dumbfounding and funny.
Creak.
The door opened smoothly and moved to the other side, revealing a couple who seemed to be made for each other.
Raine watched with gritted teeth as the object of her affection and the man she had never forgotten from day one entered arm-in-arm with a woman who wasn’t fit for him.
She looked hatefully at the servant who didn’t know her place, holding onto Logan with an infatuated smile on her face.
How dare she look like this?
How dare she have such feelings for Logan?
How dare she .....?
Raine was simply so pissed off the more she looked at Briar, but she couldn’t show all that hatred but smiled gracefully as if it wasn’t irking her at all.

Meanwhile, Briar was truly taken aback when she and Logan entered the room. From the entrance, there was one person who was very eye-catching, and she had a face that Briar remembered very clearly; Raine.
The woman who hated her so much when they had never met in their lives. If it wasn’t because she was worried about being attacked and caught unaware, and had Irene look into anyone talking about her. Briar wouldn’t have known that a woman called Raine existed.
Unfortunately, she existed and was sitting in this room dressed like an enchantress with one motive for the night; seduce.
Briar clicked her tongue inwardly, seeing how Raine had dressed herself so grandly and in a manner that would only make other women resent her. Did she think that she would seduce Logan with that?
Briar couldn’t help but feel pity for Raine. If Raine knew that the simple things that most people took for granted were enough to drive Logan crazy, wouldn’t she go insane?
Anyway, she didn’t need to share that with others. As long as she knows about it and uses it to her advantage, others might continue making clowns out of themselves.
Pushing her thoughts aside for Raine, Briar remained calm as she listened to Logan receiving teasing banters from his friends.
Since they weren’t her friends, unless Logan directed the topic to her, she was determined to participate as little as she could.
"You finally arrived. For a moment, I thought that you weren’t going to come!" a cheerful male voice rang in Briar’s ears and she recognized it instantly before she saw him.
When she looked at the person who was speaking, she couldn’t help but want to thank this person so dearly for the wonderful work and indirect help he gave her in terms of making Logan cement his feelings for her.
That male friend was Wellington. The wonderful doctor who did the shock therapy thing on her several months ago. The wonderful doctor who helped her to erase the shocking memories she possessed so that they would never resurface ever again.
If it wasn’t for him, would Logan be at ease with her like that?
No!
His mind would obviously be filled with wariness, and her feelings would be doubted seriously. Thankfully, he helped her in this matter and now she could show off her love without fear of being doubted.
She couldn’t help but look at him with a smile which made Wellington nearly jump out of his seat thinking to himself, ’Does she remember me? But that’s impossible!’
After all, he made sure to make her forget everything, including seeing him. This gathering would be considered their first meeting. He couldn’t help but feel anxious.
However, when he saw her smiling at the others, his worried heart finally became at ease, but someone else wasn’t at all.
