Inside a spacious room, a group of men and women were seated, talking and laughing. In front of them, all sorts of wine, beer, and snacks were at the table.

The music was soft and did not interfere with the way these people had their beautiful moments.

"I didn’t think that I would see you again. You truly know how to keep yourself hidden!" a woman wearing a gorgeous green dress said teasingly as she looked at another woman who sat in the corner, wearing a fiery red dress.

The woman in red smiled enchantingly like a vixen, her actions and demeanor sending a spark in the men that were in the room and making the women gnash their teeth in hatred, but still forced themselves to smile.

"Hehe, it’s been hectic over that side and you all know how ambitious I am. Since I wanted to do something for myself, I could only grit my teeth and keep on working hard," the woman in red responded, twirling the glass of red wine which fitted well with her outfit.

"And you have done a good job. I never thought that I would get to see that day!" one of the men responded, raising his glass towards the woman with praise in his eyes.

Upon hearing that, the woman in red chuckled melodious, her voice infectious, it made a few of them recall some memories while the women regretted being too impulsive.

"Our fates are all predetermined before we are born. It makes it hard to think further about the future," the woman in red responded, her voice filled with melancholy, making others wonder what she was thinking.

However, some women didn’t care about her thoughts and simply wanted to change the topic, or rather poke where it hurt.

After all, who said that secrets were hard to keep?

While the keepers thought to themselves that they were doing a good job, a person with a discerning eye could connect the dots and complete the puzzle smoothly.

Since they have been overshadowed, why not make life difficult for everyone and see how the night goes?

"I am excited. I wonder if Logan’s new wife has changed. You know, I last saw her a very long time ago!" the woman in green swiftly changed the topic, bringing Logan and Briar to the topic with a smile on her face.

When the others heard that, their eyes lit up as well.

"I was fortunate enough to be at that banquet. I saw her though we didn’t talk to each other. If you see her now, you wouldn’t even guess that she was that nanny we never cared about."

"I still wonder what he saw in her. There are so many ladies out there from good families!" another woman sighed pitifully, shaking her head.

She just couldn’t get it.

"Too bad we aren’t him or his family. From what I saw, the madam truly liked her. She was too enthusiastic on that night."

"Could there be something else going on behind the scenes?"

The women were very gossipy and once they found a topic they could chatter about, they barely stopped.

While they talked, the men listened interestedly while the woman in red maintained her smile, but a certain man who happened to be sitting across from her couldn’t help but smirk as he sipped the whisky from the glass.

If he hadn’t seen that, he would have believed that the other party was happy. He just didn’t think that after so many years, she would still be harboring feelings for Logan. Wasn’t she an old maid already?

Wellington wanted to sit down next to her and kindly tell her to stop being foolish and just pick someone else and move on.

Even if he knew that Logan’s marriage was all a façade and that there was a reason why the family was acting all too enthusiastically towards Briar, he wouldn’t tell anyone.

They had been playing together since they were young. While others didn’t care about learning or observing the others a bit too much, he was interested in doing exactly that. Thanks to his observatory skills, he learnt a lot of secrets, including his dear female heart or love interest.

Too bad she was too late on both accounts.

Seeing her returning to the country, which she hadn’t bothered to do previously. He could tell what she was thinking. He just didn’t know if Logan would fall for it.

’It seems that tonight’s drama will be worth it!’ he amusedly thought and continued to listen to the ladies chattering.

Meanwhile, Logan and Briar arrived at the club.

That was the first time that she was going to a club with Logan. She might have gone a few times to a club with friends before, but it felt different now that she was going with someone she dearly loved.

Thankfully, she wasn’t going to the usual club she and her friends loved going to, otherwise, wouldn’t her vest be exposed if she got recognized?

As they took the elevator to the floor where the friends were waiting, Logan reminded her, "Don’t forget about what we talked about. If someone says anything harsh to you, don’t be polite. You didn’t marry them but me. So, whatever they say, don’t count, okay?"

Briar looked at Logan with worshipping eyes and nodded her head hard like a chicken pecking on rice, agreeing with his words.

As long as she was given the green light, she would wreak havoc and make them regret provoking her if they dared come after her. Of course, that could only happen when Logan wasn’t watching.

What if he thinks that she is a shrew after seeing her tenacious fighting spirit?

Logan smiled satisfactorily when he saw that. Sometimes, Briar tends to become cowardly and quickly gets overwhelmed.

He didn’t want to see the same case happening for the time she got into an altercation with Alice.

If she so happens to get so emotional and become overwhelmed, who knows what kind of thoughts she would have?
